Fangs

The craving haunted her still. Long nights spent starving as her mouth watered. Flutterbat wasn’t gone. As a matter of fact, she still prowls the night in search of a juicy apple, or maybe even a juicy pony.
Fangs
Hoofsteps could be heard in the distance. Yellow bat-like ears perked up twitching with each step heard. They’re coming to find me again. They can’t see me like this. Fluttershy hung from a branch with her wings folded around her. Spreading them out, she descended downwards. Swiftly flying upwards, she flapped her wings pushing the air around her downward.
Higher and higher she soared into the night sky where the dim light of the moon could be seen giving off an eerie, yet comforting glow. Fluttershy flew north and began heading toward her cottage. She passed the sleeping town of Ponyville looking down at the houses and landmarks the mare was so used to seeing.
Should I go home? They might come looking for me there. Oh my what do I do?
The timid mare pondered her options when the smell of something hit her nostrils. It was the scent of a juicy, delicious apple. The fragrance was hypnotizing, causing Fluttershy to halt mid-flight.
The primal instincts imbued within her by Twilight’s spell began to kick in. Her fangs grew longer and sharper as she dove down with a screech. Faster and faster she flapped as she approached the lingering smell.
The apple shall be mine! Juicy! Thirsty! Must drink!

“You sure this will work again Twilight?” Rainbow Dash asked.
“It did the first time so it’s our best bet to see if Flutterbat is gone for good,” Twilight responded in a confident tone.
“Poor dear. I do hope Fluttershy is alright,” Rarity added with a frown on her face and worry in her eyes.
“Don’t worry, I think I found a spell that can change her back permanently.” Twilight said as she placed a reassuring hoof on Rarity’s shoulder.
“I recall it bein’ one of yer spells that turned her into this in the first place? Ah sure hope ya know what you’re doin’ Twi,” Applejack interjected with a shake of her head.

Approaching a small dirt road leading to Sweet Apple Acres, Fluttershy stopped. Her blood red eyes widened as she saw her friends. The scent was still so enticing; so inviting.
I can control this! Oh but the smell. The sweet, delicious smell.
Drool dribbled from her mouth as her jaw unhinged. She could no longer control the thirst building inside her. Fluttershy sped forward and lunged for the giant apple.
“Now!” Twilight yelled as she saw the approaching bat.
“Ma backup apple.” Applejack said with a defeated sigh as Fluttershy bit into it. Juice began dripping down her mouth as she continued to masticate the giant, gleaming apple.
“Don’t worry AJ! We can always give a regular apple steroids!” Pinkie chimed in happily.
Dash soared in from above and grabbed Fluttershy who began to struggle. Screeching, she flailed her hooves and wings trying to break free of Dash’s grip. “Twilight! Hurry! Use the spell!” Dash yelled.
Twi blushed as she was just watching what was unfolding in front of her forgetting to use the spell. “Oh, right. Sorry.” She said as her horn lit aglow with a magenta aura.
Blasting it, the ray of pink energy impacted the struggling batpony. The ray began to dissipate when, suddenly, a huge burst of pink light sent Dash toppling backwards. As the light dimmed, Fluttershy could be seen standing dazed and unaware of what was going on.
Rainbow got to her hooves and rushed over. The five mares surrounded the pony with looks of worry.
“Fluttershy, darling? Are you alright?” Rarity asked.
Fluttershy now had longer fangs, longer and more agile wings, her coat was a dark yellow while her mane night black. Her eyes were a scary, bloody red and her ears were bat-like.
“T-Twilight? What did you do?” Rainbow asked nervously glancing over to the unicorn.
“I-I don’t know. I performed the spell perfectly. What went wrong?” Twilight responded in the same worried tone.
The figure in the middle of the small circle spread it’s wings out. Her teeth were all sharp but her fangs even sharper as saliva dripped from both. Her eyes were slits as she stared at the terrified mares. Soon, the creature let out a deafening screech.
The five mares looked at each other and gulped simultaneously. Rainbow yelled ‘run’ and everypony turned and followed her lead. Flutterbat was fast and swift. Without even lifting off the ground, she rushed over to Rarity and grabbed her tail.
“AHHH!” Rarity shrieked as she fell to the ground.
Flutterbat dragged her closer and hungirly looked at her neck. Reveling in the moment she sank her fangs in, draining her of her life. Rarity soon became pale. Her body dropping to the dirt with a meaty thud.
The batpony went from one to the next siphoning them until they were lifeless husks. Finally, all five of her former friends lay in a disjointed semi-circle; cold and unmoving. Even after this display her new thirst had not been sated. It gripped at her uncontrollably. Her mind could only colease her emotions into one thought. She needed more blood.
Soaring through the night sky, Flutterbat soon saw a certain mailmare walking alone in the dark. Grinning, she swooped down and nabbed the pony. Placing a hoof in her mouth. Flutterbat soared upward and drained the blood from Derpy’s body. Wiping it from her muzzle, she dropped the mailmare who hit the ground with a loud thud.

Later that night, the ponies who had been attacked rose from the dead. They bore fangs and wings. Flying up, they soon joined Flutterbat. A plague had started in Equestria.
Flutterbat’s evil soon spread farther than Ponyville. Manehattan was the first to be hit, followed by Cloudsdale and then Canterlot. The vampire virus began spreading across Equestria.
“That’s how all this started. That’s why I came back,” A mare finished explaining.
“Trixie now understands, Sunset. What do you propose we do?” Trixie asked sitting in a chair of a rundown Canterlot Castle.
“We fight back.” Sunset said with a mirthless grin as she stared out a demolished window. “We find the princesses and we kill all the batponies that stand in our way! Are you with me?”
The show mare nodded and the two set off on their journey. What awaited them they did not know. What they did know was that it had fangs and a thirst for the blood in their veins.
