Starship ponies
Chapter 1
Load Full StoryImagine yourself the captain of a space crew sent to explore the vast wonders of the universe and discovering new life and other cultures. Picture yourself a commander standing stall in that nice uniform worthy of wearing that badge that would be pinned to the left side of you shirt. You'd think you had a pretty good life, right? That's how Brightwing, captain of the Philosopher felt when she was chosen to lead a crew of ponies that she chose herself to go with on this journey. To her it was a piece of cake to get where she was, she studied, worked hard, earned enough, and spent money on a high education, and succeeded to become a space traveler at a young age.
This story isn't about her, and only her; it's about she and the wonders of the universe she gets to experience with her crew at her side. Now that we nailed down that explanation, let us turn our attention to the engineer room of the Philosopher. A young stallion stands in this room wearing an iridium power suit a friend gave to him. This power suit came equipped with: One power helm that has a visor that can switch viewing types, a power chest plate that provided a sensory shield around the wearer, four quantum boots that allow the wearer to go a desired speed by changing the setting, and a saddle pack that allow the wearer (even if you are a Pegasus you still can't use your wings) to fly using plasma thrusters and this pack also has a mounted laser blaster. The stallion (if you can even consider him a stallion yet) was wearing this power suit as a test subject for a friend, no, not just a friend, a life saver, who has saved this pony's life on may occasions (in the future).
I figured we can cut to the chase and say that this pony's name is Shadowfeather. He smiled as he took off the helm of the suit and placed it on a storage cube and gasped for air.
"It getting hot in that mask Shadow?" Said the friend who was speaking to him through a Bluetooth-like device that allowed ponies to communicate with each other so they didn't have to be in the same room (amazing isn't it).
"J-just..... a...... little" Shadow said between breathes keeping a faint smile on his face.
"I'll make a note of that, you can come back up to the Lab Deck now."
"O-okay"
Shadow caught his breath and slowly began making his way toward the elevator that would bring him up to the Lab Deck of the Philosopher. When he made it up to the Lab Deck there was a yellow pony smiling at him. It is true that this pony is much older than him and has a yellow coat, while he has a black one, and she has yellow eyes while he has baby blue ones; but this does not stop her from having a little crush on him, no, more like a huge crush on him. Shadow smiled up at her and she ruffled his purple mane. He giggled as she did this.
"Sooooooo? You enjoy the test?" The mare said to the young pony.
"Uh..... well....." Shadow began.
"I know I know, they were tough"
Shadowfeather nodded feeling weak. The mare smiled and nuzzled shadow.
"It's okay"
Shadow smiled and nuzzled her back, we are now going to be addressing her as Nano. Nano giggled and hugged the pony.
"I think you should get some rest, Shadow" Said Nano, again ruffling his hair. He nodded, blushing and trotted to his quarters. When he got there he entered the key code used to open the automatic doors that kept the room safe, and trotted in. He saw his roommate, Shooting Star asleep on the bunk bed. Though there were two beds, Shooting Star had urged Shadow that they should sleep in the same bed, he never told him why, but he agreed to it. Shadow climbed in bed with Shooting Star, who wrapped his hoofs around the young pony as he entered. Shadow smiled and fell asleep.
