Chapter 1: A New Beginning
                                    A New Beginning
      I stand in front of 'Thunder's Club' and wait for the music to stop. I'm White Lightning, and my Mom is Black Thunder, who is the most awesome DJ in town! It stops and I walk in. I see her in front of the turn table over a massive crowd. "Let's turn this up louder! We're now gonna listen to A Nightmare Fright!" she screamed into a microphone. I look at her swiftness when she grabbed a record and threw it onto the turn table. "Mom! Over here!" I shout over the loud music. She turned away from Vinyl Scratch, who was an awesome DJ too. She ran up and hugged me. I stared at her big electric blue eyes. Her black mane hiding a horn, and white fur that complimented her mane. She stared into my black eyes. I was the flip-flop of her, with a white mane and a black body.
      We felt a slight shake in the ground. She stared at a wall. "Mom..." I start to say until another shake, more violent than the last one, shook the whole room enough to get everyponies attention. "Run." I hear her voice, demanding, but calm. I back up until Nightmare Moon burst through the walls."Mom!" I scream, but she stood still. Silence filled the room, only music making sound. "Why do you come in, crashing our party, huh?!" Black Thunder screamed, breaking the silence. Nightmare Moon turned her attention to the mare. "How dare you for demanding your new princess! You will pay for your actions! What do you have to say?" the evil mare shouted.
      I looked back and forth between the mares. My Mom, standing and glaring at the evil princess. The princess smiling back, daring her to even defy her. "Get out! You will not do anything!" I heard my Mom scream. The princess frowned and did nothing but make her yes look like slits. "I said you'll pay!" Nightmare Moon shouted. Pointing her horn at my Mother, her not moving an inch. A bright blue light shone from Nightmare Moon's horn and a beam surrounded my Mom. Looking shocked she was teleported to someplace else. Then I fainted hearing the evil laugh of the Nightmare Moon.
      I wake up to see the princess in front of me. I'm in a hospital room. My eyes opened wide as saucers. "Are you alright?" Princess Celestia asked in her soothing voice. I nodded yes. I look for anypony else, but two mares standing behind the princess. I noticed Vinyl Scratch and the other I didn't recognized. She had a gray coat and a black mane. A pink treble clef for a cutie mark. "These two mares will be adopting you, as it said so in the will of your mother. Try to get to know them right now." Celestia told me winking.
      As Celestia walked out of my hospital room I looked at Vinyl and Octavia looked at her with the same look I had, astonishment. "Surprise?" she smiled chuckling. I look back and forth at the two of them. I started shaking my head no. "Wheres my Mom?" I ask shakily. "Gone... eh, eh..." Vinyl shrugged. I facehoof. Then start to cry. "Please don't cry. What's your name?" Octavia asked, trying to change the subject. "White Lightning. I don't have a cutie mark and I really don't care." I say looking down, drying my tears. "Chin up! The doctor said this afternoon you'd be out and up! We got everything set up for your stay!" Octavia said cheerfully. And like she told me I walked out to meet them. I looked at them and sighed.
