Chapter Two: A conversation
Twilight could not believe it. This was far more amazing than she had ever thought off it! The Meteor that she had saw, had been split into 8 pieces. The pieces were glowing, in all colors you could imagine, still burning from the fall. It was odd though, that the splitters of the meteor were laying so perfectly. They were absolutely symmetric, as if some pony would have just placed them there. Twilight began to investigate them, so she could find out something about them. It was not odd that a meteor fall down to Equestria nor was it odd that they fell all at the same time, but this exact symmetry, was odd. How likely was it that this would happen? She asked herself. She couldn’t find an answer though. As she looked for clues to find an origin of the strange star stone, she noticed something. The meteor began to glow, even more than before but for now in an only golden light. It nearly blinded her as she looked away from it just in the right moment. It was amazing, the splitters of the meteor seemed to project something, but Twilight could barely see anything due overwhelming light.
“Greetings Twilight Sparkle.” a voice said, as Twilight still could not see. “I’m your new leader, and thus I will give you a task, you will have to complete, but It is more likely a test than a real task, as it shall prove that you are ready, to protect me!”
“But who are you?” Twilight asked, as she finally was able to see again.
“I am what they call, a greater being, I am Harmony.” The voice stated. “You, Twilight Sparkle have become an Alicorn, and thus you have now more power than you could ever imagine.”
“But… what are you? How can you exist? There is so much I have to ask you! Can I begin?” Twilight was hoping to find now answers to more than one riddle she once thought about.
“No. We don’t have enough time to talk about the past nor the future. Now listen to me Twilight Sparkle, I will answer all you questions, but you have to pass you test first. “Still, the voice stated disembodied, due to the fact that the light was too bright.
“Well, I guess I will begin studying for that test then, I sure not want to be not prepared. Although I would love to hear all the explanation before, and despite the fact that I can’t trust you blindly, I will prepare myself. When shall I begin?” As Twilight asked this particular question, something odd happened.
The Harmony was laughing. Twilight didn’t know this being at all, but just by its appearance, she had known that it would not be a thing to have much humor after all. So it laughed. On and on, as the seconds of awkwardness passed it felt like hours for Twilight, since she had to witness such a rare thing. A moment later, as Twilight had again collected herself, she said:” Why are you laughing?”
“I’m laughing, because you think, that you are still where you used to be. The test begins in mere seconds so; you won’t have much time to prepare.”
Twilight noticed it now, she was no more in Pony Ville, she was in a stream of colors, and rainbows were flying at her side. Beside her knowledge of Equestria and beyond, she could hardly tell, where she was. Thus she asked the “Harmony”: “What is this place, it seems to be like nothing what I have ever seen.”
“We are in a middle state, a state in between, time. I will send you back to a time you may know, so that you can learn the
Importance of me, harmony.” The voice of the harmony was, the whole time calm and yet commanding in the same second. “You have the opportunity to ask one question, before your test begins. But you will have some time to reconsider, before you will ask.
Twilight thought about it. Would it be a better idea to ask for the details of her test, or to ask for an explanation, of the harmony itself? Twilight made up 2 questions, in both directions of thinking, so she could decide, witch one would be better.
Then Twilight began to think about a question of her test… When she thought about this, something other came also in her mind, does this really happen, am I tested, by the “harmony”? If this was such a big thing in the Life of an alicorn she would had heard about it wouldn’t she? After all, the 3 other living alicorns were her friends, they would at least have mentioned this, right? Since Twilight was not even sure about the harmony itself, she decided, that she would ask, the harmony something about her nature.
A question to find out about something you doesn’t know? What a easy task… It was just so confusing that Twilight could not really formulate a question, nor could she realize what this meat. Being the “harmony”, what should that mean? Does that mean, that she was the creator of everything, and that she would become her new mentor, now that princess Celestia wouldn’t anymore? So she asked:” Will you support me, as my mentor princess Celestia did?”
The Harmony took a moment before she answered her question. “I have to admit, that this is a rather mediocre question. But I did not lie, as I the harmony will never lie. I will indeed be your mentor, I will give you tasks and I will take responsibility for you action, but let me make this clear, from this moment on, you will have to deal with your mental condition by your own, I will not help you I any way, with the tasks I will give you. Now, Twilight Sparkle we have arrived, and it is time that you will be tested.” As the harmony stopped speaking, Twilight recognized, that she had now found herself in a new location, yet she was not sure where exactly she was.
