Feathered wings and funny things
chapter one Left behind
Load Full StoryNext ChapterI was a good kid in flight school. Always behaved, I said our schools motto with pride, and I generally followed rules. She on the other hand was less of a goody two shoes. Okay fine we were both troublemakers, she was worse but that only gave me some competition. She did what she wanted, and We became fast friends but sometime she took things too far. That's just who Gilda was.
"Hey dashie check it out!" Gilda said running up to me with a small pouch dangling from her beak. I wondered how she had called to me. "My family mailed me forty bits. Wanna hit up that comic store after school, on me?"
"Totally" I said. "I actually got some money from my family too" I pulled my pouch out of my bags. "See thirty five bits!"
"That's cool!" She slipped the small pouch into the black bags hanging on her sides. "How was your spring break away from school?" she looked at me from the corner of her eye as we started back into the school grounds.
"To be completely honest" I started as one of the "three stooges" flank checked me as we walked past. I acted fast hooking my hind hoof on his "the food was totally the best part" he hit the cloud hard as I finished my sentence. "I can not wait for summer though my dad told me we are probably going to the equestria games anyway" she was the only pony who understood how upset I was when they announced that another city would hold the games. "I am very excited. I mean this is going to be the best thing ever! Imagine how awesome the stunt competition will be!" Little did I know I would be going anyway.
"I hear ya dashie it'll be super bad!" Gilda said giggling like a normal griffon of her age (about 14).
"yeah i can-"she cut me off with her sudden bursts of laughter. "What?" I said simply. maybe it was the fact that it was somewhat unexpected, or maybe it was some how unsettling either way it threw me off track.
"Oh, just the way you wasted that stooge." She giggled a bit more. "He didn't even know it was you!"
"Right?" I laughed with her. "he hit that cloud hard enough to dent himself!" when we finally stopped laughing we were almost to the dormitory building. "so what happened while I was gone?" i asked. She glanced at me before looking up at the building."Well?" I pushed.
She sighed. "Room changes"
I stopped in my tracks. Impossible i thought. Then i thought back before i left. they could and they did. "those bastards" i suddenly yelled.
"that's not the worst of it we both got stuck with some fresh new dorks. i don't know who out of the four of them though. There is a small pink maned mare, a young black and yellowish haired punk rock stallion, lavender punk chick and a grey haired dork of a stallion. I think their names are flutter something, Zak drake, Lilly run, and snow grey or some crap like that."
"So we aren't bunk mates anymore?" I asked my voice cracking harshly.
"Afraid not." She answered grimly. "i suppose eventually we might end up back how we were. If I break a few bones first" she said smiling just as grimly. i laughed a little before becoming silent for a moment more.
"What about" I broke off hardly able to speak "what about my posters and my other stuff?" I wasn't really all that concerned about them.
"Don't worry. I moved it all myself." She looked sad, but not as much as me. "and i made sure no one else touched them." she gave me a trusting look and i felt a little more at ease.
"Let me take you to your room." She said putting a heavy claw on my shoulder. A few minutes later she stopped and pointed to the door. "Dorm four hundred and forty-one." I hugged her as she said it. "I gotta go my first class starts soon." She said as she hugged me back.
"Okay, see you at lunch?" I asked
"Yeah" she said as she walked away. She turned the corner and there I was left behind to face whoever was behind that door.
