Does Anyone Want To Build A Snowpony?

     Dark grey clouds were gathering above the Carousel Boutique. All was silent except for the faint scratch of pencil on paper. Sweetie Belle was doing her math homework. She wasn't exactly the fastest at math, but she knew she would be done soon. Just as Sweetie was on her last fifteen problems, a light tinkling noise filled her ears. 'It sounds familiar...but where have I heard that before?' Save the math for later, she had to find out what that was.

     Galloping to a window and opening the blinds, she shrieked in happiness at what she saw. "Snow! Snow! It's finally snowing!" Light white flakes were falling from the sky, creating at least two inches already. Sweetie ran in circles, laughing at the top of her lungs. She was so excited; it has been such a long time since there was snow. And it was a doozy. The pegasi must have been in a good mood, why else would there be snow?

     'I wonder if Rarity can play.' The unicorn filly sighed. Rarity has been so busy with her dresses that she had no time to play with Sweetie Belle. If she does have time, it's only for a couple minutes. Not enough time to have real fun. Maybe some singing will make her come out! Rarity was always so proud of her little sister's singing voice.

     "Rarity! Rarity!" Sweetie squeaked, pounding on the workroom's door.

     "What is it? I can't open the door right now. Hoity Toity is overloading me with new designs." A voice called from the room.

"Do you want to build a snow pony?

Come on let's go and play

I barely see you anymore

Please come out the door

It's almost like you've gone away

We used to be best sisters

And now we're too far apart (Especially with Rarity's work!)

I wish you could tell me when we can play

Do want to build a snow pony?"

     "I'm sorry Sweetie Belle! I'll be out in a couple of hours. I just need to put a couple more sequins..."

     "But Rarity...then snow would melt by then." The filly whined. No response came from the door. Hmmm...Rarity can't play...maybe Flutershy could. Her other friends Applebloom and Scootaloo probably still had homework. Fluttershy could do. The shy pegasus did nothing all day anyway.

     Quickly putting on her scarf, earmuffs, and galoshes, Sweetie opened the door and embraced the cold. Snowflakes fell onto her tongue and hoof as she greedily licked them up. Yum! Hopping in the snow to create pattens, she traveled all the way to Fluttershy's cottage by the Everfree forest. There were no other ponies outside, leaving only a lonely filly in a winter wonderland.

     Bunnies and squirrels scattered as she walked up to the door. She knocked tentatively, wondering if Fluttershy was there. The door slightly opened as a yellow pegasus popped her head out. "Oh, hello Sweetie Belle. It's too cold, what are you doing out there?"

     Shaking some snow off her back, and accidentally splattering Fluttershy in the face, Sweetie calmly sang.

"Do you want to build a snow pony?

Or ride our bikes around the town?

I think some company is overdue

I've started talking to

The banks of snow around your house. (How are you doing Blitzy?)

I'm started to get a little lonely,

With all this empty town,

Just watching the minutes fly by."

Sweetie cracked her head back and forth, making clock noises. Fluttershy laughed softly before talking. "I wish I could, but it's too cold for me. I also have some relatives right now." She pointed towards a light blue earth pony with pink hair that was waving. "She is leaving in two weeks, and then I can play. I promise."

     "That's too long to wait...sorry for wasting your time Fluttershy." Sweetie mumbled before running off.

     "Come back Sweetie Belle! I'll see if I can squeeze in some time!" The mare called out, but the filly was too far away. Sweetie ran along the road, not caring that she was getting cold. 'I really really want to play...but who will I play with? If Applebloom and Scootaloo are to busy, I guess I can put it off until next year...or at least until there is snow again...'

     The white unicorn ambled to Sweet Apple Acres, where Applebloom lived. She hugged her scarf tightly before continuing. 'Maybe I should rethink about going outside.' If she remembered, Scootaloo was being tutored by Applejack at the moment. As soon as she knocked on the door, warm air filled the outside, warming her up instantly. "H-Hi guys." Sweetie's teeth chatted.

"D-Do you w-want to build a snow pony?

Please, I k-know you're in there,

I have been wondering why no pony's ouside

They s-say "They're too b-busy"

a-and I leave them alone

I'm right here out for you

just come o-out to play

I want t-to be with some pony...

It's j-just you guys and me

What are we going t-to do?

(sniff) Do you want to build a snow pony?"

     The ponies inside smiled. "Sweetie Belle, do ya' know how cold it is outside?" Applejack stated, peering outside. "It's almost 0 degrees. Nopony wants to be outside in this weather. The pegasi said it would be warmer tomorrow."

     The unicorn gritted her teeth."No! Today is the perfect day...and I just want it to spend with some pony. Is it too much to ask? I don't care if it is even three minutes! I just to p-play."

     "Inside is good too." Applebloom gestured her arms to a fireplace inside, where Scootaloo was talking to Granny Smith.

     "No......I mean outside." The Apple family and Scootaloo said nothing as Sweetie slammed the door in their faces and trudged away.

     Sweetie Belle's white hooves pushed some snow together and formed a small shape, almost resembling a pony, before falling apart again. "Grrr! Not only do any of my friends want to play, I can't even create a stupid snow pony!" She kicked the now formed mound, causing it to fly into a bush. Maybe throwing stuff will help.

     She scooped some snow off the ground and formed it into a ball. At least it didn't fall apart this time. She threw it into the air, before the wind pushed it back into her face. Nopony to even throw snowballs with.

"I guess I won't build a snowpony...

I-I'm all alone today

This isn't fun anymore

But I don't want to go inside."

     A couple minutes later, Sweetie Belle sat in a middle of a field, watching the snow pile up. "What else can I do? I can't think of anything else to do by myself out here." She picked up a snowball and was about to throw it one last time, before she heard some giggling. 'There's somepony out there!' She ran to a bush, where the noise originally came from.

     As soon as she parted the leaves and sticks apart, two fillies jumped out. "Applebloom! Scootaloo! What are you guys doing here?"  The duo smiled before walking foward.

"Yes would like to build a snowpony,

And spend some time with you

You looked pretty blue

Now you're not alone anymore!"

     The three fillies hugged all smiling. "Thanks guys, you are the bestest friends I could ask for. Now let's build a snowpony!" For three hours, the CMC worked on the snowpony. And it looked pretty decent! It was in a dramatic pose with a goofy grin on it's face.

     "Now what shall we call it?" Questioned an orange pegasus.

     Applebloom thought for a moment. "How about Neighlaf!" All agreed.

     As soon as Sweetie was putting the last finishing touches on Neighlaf, a snowball hit her on the back of her head. She turned around, her green eyes shrinking into pinpricks as the pony she least expected to come. "RARITY! I missed you." Sweetie threw herself on her older sister hugging her neck tightly. "I thought you would never come."

     "Of course I would Darling. I'm not that forgetful." She levitated a green coat onto Sweetie, wrapping her tightly. "Now we can play together, but guess who also came." Sweetie squinted her eyes, her heart bursting into excitement again.

     "They all came!"

     "We sure did, Sugarplum." Applejack ruffled the filly's multicolored curly mane. "Ah' saw how miserable you looked, so we followed you. It isn't too bad anymore, so now we can play! Yee-Haw little doggies!" The orange earth pony's tail grabbed a snowball and threw it at Rainbow Dash.

     "H-hey! That wasn't fair. I wasn't ready!" The rainbow maned pegasus gathered snowballs of her own and threw them in different directions. Everypony was having a good time. Big Macintosh, Granny Smith, Applejack, Twilight, Rainbow Dash, Fluttershy, Rarity, Pinkie Pie, and the Cutie Mark. Crusaders were all there.

"We all built a snowpony!

And we all had a good time,

No more being busy or being cold

Just being together!"

     Sweetie Belle was the happiest she ever was. "This is the best snow day ever!" And it was! Now If only Sweetie Belle remembered to finish her math problems...
