It has been ten years since the collapse of Equestrian society, and a cloud of chaos and darkness threatens to overwhelm the few scraps of harmony which remain. But in the north, the ancient tribe of Singers are gathering to banish the evil with a final song.

Spike and Sweetie Belle, along with a few old friends, exist still in the remains of Ponyville, clinging to hope and harmony. But when a stranger arrives, searching for the 'assistant of the princess', Spike must venture to the north to seek out the Singers and fulfil an ancient rite.
