You are being sent to a foreign planet to deal with a problem that came back to haunt us..MAREDAN. Computer A.I. that went insane. This was an entity we have not heard of for 42 years. An issue that tried to take us out. It seemed to have returned, and in greater forces. We must deal with this before everypony gets in danger.

(This will loosely be based on System Shock 2 since I've been playing it more lately.)

—Briefing—

42 years ago, a hacker by the name of [RESTRICTED] hacked into the Citadel Station Computer System, stealing high level information along with the reprograming of the Citadel’s A.I., MAREDAN. This break in security removed the AI’s ethical restraints and turned it hostile towards the ponies on the station by reprograming all of the robots, thus gaining a hostile takeover of the station. A full evacuation was activated. Not all made it out.

Those that remained were forced to be apart of mutagen-type experiments with an experimental virus that was weaponizes by MAREDAN. This left the crew either mutated, transformed into powerful exoskeleton pony-cyborgs, or killed.

The pony that caused all of this was captured and forced to fix the mistake he. As far as our intel told us, MAREDAN was destroyed, Citadel detonated, and the Station Bridge was jettisoned to safety with the hacker inside although, we were unable to establish contact with him.

——Now for the part where you come in.——

A few months ago, we received a distress signal from our starships, the *Von Braun and the Rickenbacker. Their location was traced to the planet Tar Centaur V. We sent a rescue team to help the crews but lost contact shortly after touchdown. We were able to receive a transmission from the crew before their…demise. Though this last audio log, we were able to somewhat identify what attacked them. the things that attacked the crew identified themselves as The Many.*

At the end of the transmission, there was another voice present, seeming to be controlling what attacked our crew. Voice analysis identified it to none other than MAREDAN.

We are fearing for the worst and that is why we are sending you in. We were able to copy the virus strain used last time to stop MAREDAN and were able to make it stronger. We hope it will stop this rogue A.I. before it destroys everything and everypony. Our scans of the landing zone show that there is still a life form present on the ship *Von Braun. Databanks show that it is the head mechanic for the ship. He is in the cryostats chamber section of the crashed ship and there is signs of emergency power keeping it online.*

Your mission:

1. Get in contact with the mechanic

2. Get to the command center of the ship.

3. Destroy MAREDAN once and for all.

You have the computer virus with you. Do not lose it.
