It was a beautiful day in Canterlot. Princess Celestia was walking through the corridor from an exceptionally long meeting. She had to admit, listening to fussy nobles gripe about their so called "rights" to take over and control companies and organizations got old really quick. Celestia decided to wash the day's dillemas away with a nice piece of cake. Her mind made up, she changed direction toward the kitchens, unaware of a peculiar cloud of blue smoke following her. She passed by a charming statue of a unicorn, also unaware of there being a long and curved, red-tipped horn replacing that of the statue's.
As Celestia rounded a corner, she suddenly heard evil laughter fill the corridors, evil, mischevious laugter. "Hello?" "Who's there?" "I-I'm warning you!" "Show yourself!" Celestia called out, a hint of fear in her voice. She looked up and down the corridor. Seeing nopony or for that matter anything out of ordinary, she continued her walk, until more laughter rang through the halls. Celestia was definitely getting a little frightened.
Speeding up her pace, she then proceeded on louder cackling. Break into a canter. more, louder still. Celestia was fully running now, and constantly kept looking over her back to see if something was following her. It was then she noticed the purple smoke cloud speeding behind her. She rounded a corner, only to have to small changelings blocking her path. Wide-eyed, Celestia turned around, only to have two larger changelings standing in front of her. Celestia tried to leap over them but as she sprang, the fourth changeling knocked her down.
The others joined in, pinning the alicorn to the floor. Suddenly, the smoke cloud took form right in front of Celestia's eyes. A pitch black unicorn with catlike slits for pupils under purple eye shadow, with blue armour and bat-like wings. Nightmare Moon! Nightmare Moon cackled maniacally. "
Great job, boys!" "I shall relay to your queen to request a pay raise for each of you." The changelings giddily interacted with ech other in their insect-like manner at the comment. " Well, well, well. I looks like the great beloved ruler is not so great and beloved after all. I must say though the look of changeling black really goes nicely with that pristine white coat of yours, would'nt you think?" Celestia tried to pull herself free from the grasp of the changelings, but with fruitless efforts. " Oh, and don't even bother trying to break free, Celestia. You see, the more you struggle and try to fight it, you will only find these lovely little helpers of mine pin you down tighter!"
This was true, as Celestia found out as Nightmare Moon warned her. She felt the changelings pull down tighter as she tried to move. " Now, now, don't be frightened, princess. Soon you will have nothing to fear at aalllllllllllllllllll......" Nightmare Moon put this into a calm, motherly like voice. But before Celestia could retort, Nightmare Moon levitated a muffler and a magic blocker with her magic. She then got to work, applying the blocker first to Celestia's horn, to ensure her imprisonment. Then she placed the muffler onto Celestia's muzzle. Nightmare Moon cackled again." From this moment forth, the night, will last, forever! A HAHAHAHAHAH! AHAHAHAHAHA HA HA HA HAAAA!
Nightmare's horn then suddenly glowed a deep blue aura, lifting a black orb to the sky. Soon, the orb covered up the sun. Celestia's brow was beaded with sweat. How could her sister do this?! Then again, Celestia wasn't even sure if that was Luna. Before trying to ncome up with a logical explanation, however, she felt a shock of pain surge through her. Soon things became a swirl of colors, eventually fading into darkness. Sounds dimmed, and Celestia felt herself slipping from her conciousness. What... is... happening? These were the last few faint words Celestia's conciousness picked up from her mind before plunging into blackness once more.
Meanwhile, Twilight was reading a book on the balcony of Golden Oak Library.
