Chapter 1
Load Full StoryIt was a bright, sunny evening in Ponyville, as all the ponies laughed and played together, going about their lives in joy and delight. Or rather, that is what it should have been. But alas, it was instead a dark, cloudy evening, in the middle of a rainstorm. Which could only mean that everypony was stuck inside their homes, unable to go outside. And in the middle of such a rainstorm, there was a pony. She ran, and ran, her pale pink mane sagging down over her eyes from the heavy rain, and her body trembling. She reached the base of a large tree home, and knocked on the door.
A violet pony with a dark purple mane opened the door, gasping as she saw the yellowish pony, drenched and shivering in the rain.
“Fluttershy, what in the world are you doing out in this rainstorm? Come inside, quick!” she exclaimed, leading Fluttershy in.
“Well…I-I was helping a little bird who didn’t know how to fly yet…when the rainstorm caught me. Umm, if it’s not imposing too much, Twilight…can I stay here until the rain is over?”
“Of course you can, Fluttershy. In fact, I’m glad you came over, otherwise I would have been bored, there’s no one here to talk to.”
“I heard that!” Spike called from the other room.
Fluttershy and Twilight giggled a bit, then Fluttershy moved to look out the window. The rain hit the window and slid down in hundreds of tiny droplets. Fluttershy let out a small sigh.
“Something bothering you, Fluttershy?” Twilight asked, raising an eyebrow.
“Umm…it’s nothing, really. I…I was just wondering something,” Fluttershy muttered. “Twilight…what do you know of Rainbow Dash’s and Applejack’s relationship?”
Twilight blinked. “Umm…I heard they’ve started going out. Why?”
Fluttershy gulped. Her lips quivered a bit, and she looked away from Twilight.
Twilight frowned, approaching Fluttershy. She put a hoof on her back, to comfort her.
“What’s wrong, Fluttershy?”
“Oh…I just…um…promise to keep this a secret, Twilight?”
“Of course,” Twilight said. “Now, tell me, what’s the matter? Why are you upset?”
“I…I kind of…had a crush on Rainbow Dash…well, have…a small one…well, I mean…it‘s a big crush…but…ooh, I just don‘t know what to do. I should be happy for her and Applejack…but it…it hurts…” Fluttershy muttered, staring at the floor, while making tiny circles with her hoof on it.
Twilight’s eyes grew wider. Her gaze turned to an icy one for a split second, before she turned away. “…I see.”
A small gasp escaped Fluttershy’s lips, as she turned her gaze to Twilight.
“Oh, I’m sorry! I didn’t mean to sound whiny or anything…”
“No…it’s not that,” Twilight said, still not looking at Fluttershy. “I’ll be right back…I have to go to the kitchen to get something.”
Fluttershy looked a bit confused, but nodded as Twilight began trotting to the kitchen. Once she was out of sight, Fluttershy sighed once again. A tear slid down her cheek, and she wiped it away with her hoof, then sat down, curled up.
“I’m back,” Twilight called, in a much more cheery voice than before. However, something wasn’t right about it. It was almost sing-song.
Fluttershy raised her head, and looked at Twilight.
“Umm…Twilight…what’s that knife for?”
Twilight tilted her head, a wide smile on her face. “What knife?”
She looked down and saw she was, indeed, holding a knife. A large knife, made of stainless steel, and quite new. Twilight could see her reflection on it, and giggled.
“Oh…this knife,” she said, and made a gash on her own arm, giggling. “I don’t really know…”
Fluttershy immediately stood up, her eyes wide. “Twilight…um…is everything okay? You seem a bit…uh…stressed.”
“Oh no…I’m not stressed. I’m perfectly fine, dear Fluttershy. Why, there seems to be something wrong with YOU!” Twilight said, walking slowly toward Fluttershy.
Fluttershy gulped, taking a few nervous steps back. “W-what do you mean?”
“There seems to be a knife on your wing…”
As she said this, Twilight had reached Fluttershy, and proceeded to stab the knife she was holding through Fluttershy’s right wing, also piercing her stomach. Fluttershy let out a yell, as her eyes filled with tears. She tried to pull away, but Twilight didn’t let go of the knife.
“What’s the matter, dear Fluttershy? Are you trying to run away from me…?” Twilight asked in a low voice, a wide smile still on her face.
Fluttershy shook her head shakily, tears streaming down her cheeks now. She opened her mouth to say something, but only a miniscule whine escaped it.
“Good, good…now come closer!” she said, pulling the knife towards herself, causing it to create a gash in Fluttershy’s wing, and stomach. Fluttershy let out another yell.
“P-please stop, Twilight! Please!” she managed to say, through the tears pouring out of her eyes, that were shut tight in agony.
“Oh…oh dear, it seems I forgot I was holding that knife. Let me take it out, then,” Twilight murmured, and ripped the knife out from Fluttershy. Some of Fluttershy’s guts also popped out of the wound, causing the floor under her to be a mess of blood and intestines.
Fluttershy clenched her teeth, small sobs coming out of her mouth. She made a move to run, but Twilight stabbed the knife through her left hoof, and the ground, causing more tears, and forcing Fluttershy to stay in place. Twilight grabbed Fluttershy’s damaged wing, and opened it, giggling a bit as she saw the wide gash, blood leaking out of it.
“Well that’s no good, you got hurt. But don’t worry, I have just the spell to make it all better,” Twilight said, tilting her head, as she let out a strange giggle.
Her horn began to glow. In a few seconds, it was white-hot, and Fluttershy could see it sizzling.
“This will heal it right up,” Twilight said, again in the sing-song voice from before.
She pressed her horn to Fluttershy’s wound, and it instantly begun to burn her wing. Fluttershy let out an agonizing scream, as she felt the fire spread throughout its length. Twilight tilted her head.
“Oh, whoops. I might have done it a little too strongly…but no worries,” she muttered, giggling.
Her horn started glowing again, and purple magic surrounded Fluttershy’s wing. It began shaking, pulling strongly, until Fluttershy’s wing was ripped straight from her body. She almost lost conciousness right then and there, dropping to a sitting position, as blood sprayed from her wing, which now lay as a burning mess of feathers and flesh on the floor.
Twilight snickered. “Oh, I’m so silly. I made you all uneven. Now I should get rid of your other wing too…then you’ll be all good.”
Fluttershy shook her head slowly, her body trembling. Twilight leaned in closer.
“Wait…don’t tell me you don’t enjoy this. You enjoy it right? This thrill…you have to enjoy it…enjoy it…enjoy me!”
Twilight’s expression changed to one of rage, and she used magic to rip Fluttershy’s other wing off, much more forcefully than the other one. Drool began leaking out of Fluttershy’s mouth, as she struggled to breathe. She tried muttering something, but ended up coughing up blood instead.
Twilight nodded, smiling. “That’s good. You can hardly move anymore. I’ll be right back, to get more stuff for us to enjoy.”
She giggled, and made her way to the kitchen again. Fluttershy looked from one side to the other, her eyes wide, as she trembled violently. Suddenly, she caught a glimpse of Spike descending the stairs. She tried forming a word, but coughed up more blood. Spike raised an eyebrow as he heard the strong cough, and descended faster, then gazed at where the cough had come from. He simply stood there for a second, as he tried to digest the picture in front of him. Fluttershy, both wings missing, her hoof stabbed, a large gash on her stomach, and she was laying on her own intestines and blood.
“Fluttershy! What in the world happened? I-…Sweet Celestia, I’m gonna go get help, you wait right there!” Spike exclaimed, as he readied to run off in search of help.
Before he could, however, a knife was stabbed downward, through his skull. He stood there for a moment, paralyzed, then fell to the ground, motionless. Twilight stood behind him, giggling.
“Oh no, Spike. You mustn’t interrupt our fun. That’s not polite. But you’re just a baby…so I’ll forgive you. Sleep there for a minute, I’ll call you soon, alright?” she said, grinning, and staring at the steadily more bloody, tiny, purple dragon on the floor.
Twilight stepped toward Fluttershy, and patted her on the head. “Oh, you’re so much fun Fluttershy…this has been the best date ever. You love me, don’t you, Fluttershy?”
Fluttershy looked up, only half-conscious. She couldn’t even process what Twilight was saying. She simply lowered her head again, letting the mix of drool and blood ooze out of her agape mouth.
Twilight tilted her head, and giggled. “That’s right. I knew you did. I love you too. I bet you love me way more than Rainbow Dash, about right now, don’t you? Yes…I know you do. It’s so great to be loved…”
She brushed her nose against Fluttershy’s cheek. “I’ve got a special ending to this amazing night. And with this…I feel the sparks of a good relationship will start to bloom.”
Twilight’s horn began glowing, until it was glowing hot again. She pressed it against the floor, and it instantly caught fire. The fire rapidly began spreading through the house, engulfing the furniture, the floor, and both of the ponies. Twilight fell on her back, laughing maniacally, even as Fluttershy’s excruciating shrieks echoed within the house.
“Get it? The sparks? Because I’m Twilight Sparkle, and I’m playing with fire, which causes sparks!” she yelled, as her laughing fit went on. The raging fire had already consumed a part of her body, and tears streamed down her cheeks, even as she laughed.
“Oh, Spike? Don’t forget to clean the floor later. We don’t want it to get too dusty!” Twilight exclaimed, as the fire began consuming her trunk. She licked her lips, feeling her own flesh burn away. She gazed at where Fluttershy had been laying, but she had long since been consumed by the inferno. “Dear Fluttershy…I hope you enjoyed today! I know I sure did…we should do this again sometime!”
Twilight continued laughing like crazy, even as the fire engulfed her entire body, and everything around her. She lived loving Fluttershy, she died loving Fluttershy. And to this day, no one knows the exact truth about what happened to Twilight Sparkle, Fluttershy, and Spike on that fateful night. And if history is merciful, it will lock away that secret, alongside its many others, never to be discovered by future generations of ponies to come…
