I Had the Strangest Dream
It was the middle of the night. I laid atop a grassy hill in Celestia's personal garden. It was beautiful there. I had a perfect view of Equestria, and Luna's stunning night. Celestia had let me roam her garden mainly out of pity. I had arrived not long ago, and the way the Equestrian population would react to me wouldn't be a warm welcome. So, beside's the rest of the city, I got Celestia's garden and the rest of the castle. The garden was where I spent most of my time though. For hours on end I'd sit out there on a bench and just think. Thinking about the situation I was in, and how I'd cope with being in a world of talking ponies. And every night, I spent on this very hill, staring up at the stars and the moon. This particular night no thoughts of the future or past entered my mind. It was just peace that overtook me.
During my peace I heard the flapping of wings approach. I thought it might have been Luna, telling me to go back to my chambers. But this presence didn't feel the same as Luna's. Someone else had landed, so I craned my neck to look at them. Standing there, her tiara, necklace, and golden horseshoes missing, was Princess Celestia herself.
"Well, I haven't seen you in a while." I spoke. Celestia laid down next to me, and rested her head on my shoulder.
"It's been a busy week." she answered. "Ever since the invasions in the north. Ponies are troubled by these events. And the only pony to come to is me. I've been organizing scouts to patrol the border. Filling out paperwork. Dozens of meetings have sprouted up in Manehatten and Trottingham that had attended." She scooted closer to me and wrapped a large, snow white wing over both of us, making a blanket.
"Your their princess, and you give them hope." I was trying to think of things to comfort her. "And without you, who would they go to. It may be a burden, but I think it's also an honor that they put so much trust in you." She nuzzled the bottom of my chin.
"It's not that I hate helping them. It's just...." She trailed off and wrapped her wing around me tighter. "It's just that I don't want to do it alone anymore."
"But you have Luna." I was confused. She had been alone for a thousand years, but Luna's been here with her for nearly a year. She knows her sister has her back.
"Not that kind of alone." She blushed.
"Oh, I see. But I'm not going anywhere." She didn't seem to hear what I just said.
"I have a spell, that'll turn you into a pony." She was getting excited at the idea. "Please..." She looked into my eyes. "You don't have to go."
"But I'm not going anywhere." I interjected.
"Would you stay here with me, and be my prince?" She began to tear up.
"Celestia, you're not making any sense."
"Will you stay with me?" Suddenly the world around me began to spin around violently, I was sucked backwards, being slammed left and right. Until finally, I was thrown back into my bed at home. I opened my eyes and saw my bedding was strewn across the room everywhere.
"Celestia?" I muttered.
