The Guardian Of Equestria

   I was completely shrouded in darkness, alone and lost. No on was there to help me...

"Maxis... Maxis...Maxis..."

A female voice was calling out to me, I turned and searched desperately to find who ever the voice belonged to. *smack* something had hit me right across the face. I found myself someplace new, yet recognizable. A blue pegasus laid on top of my stomach iving me a stern look. She had a rainbow colored mane with cerise colored eyes.

"Did you just slap me?" I questioned.

"No. I just tried to giving you a high five but your face got in the way." Rainbow Dash answered.

"You don't even have fingers."

"So." Rainbow Dash smiled.

I rolled my eyes Leave it up to Rainbow Dash to to wake me up with a slap. I took a quick glance around the room. A white ceiling and floor, a wall full of trophies and one that was in cased in glass the read, 'Best Young Flier'. This was most definitely Rainbow Dash's house. Now the only question that remained was how'd I even get up here? If memory serves me right we were at a bar last night, so how'd I get up here without breaking any bones is beyond me. Guess I shouldn't question it.

"Come on get out of bed we need to meet with the others at Apple Acres." Dash said biting down on the covers and pulling them off. "Wow I didn't know you that happy to see me." Dash spoke as her face turned red.

"You know it's morning wood!" I shouted though I could tell she wasn't paying much attention to me.

"Yeah yeah. How about you go hit the shower you perv." She stated. Those last words were music to my ears. RD's Shower was amazing, not that it wasn't expected to be, but the shower was beyond cool there are no words for it. I immediately got out of bed and went straight for the shower leaving Rainbow Dash behind.  I opened the door to see a miniature waterfall that turned into a small river that that turned into a pool. The water must be rally warm to make steam come off of it.

"This never gets old." I thought out loud.

"Yeah enjoy it. I'm thinking about changing this old thing. It's one of the most lamest things here."

I gave her a shocked look,"No way! This is the coolest thing I've ever seen! You can't get rid of it!" I exclaimed. She just stood there staring at it, finally nudging me into the shower.

"I'll leave your new clothes by the door." She told me as she left.

Once I was done showering, drying myself, and changed into my new clothes; I went outside and walked about the house for a bit. Dash's house was pretty cool. It had a basket ball court, a weight room, a pool (or shower which ever you prefer to call it) and an obstacle course, but that's not really surprising. The house did have some not so cool things about it, one of which was it's all white. Seriously I don't get why pegasus enjoy having white homes. I feel if I lived in one of these houses as long as Dash has, I'd go insane. Dash was sitting down out in back looking down off the clouds.

"Hey. Is there something wrong?" I asked sitting right next to her.

"No."

"That's obviously a lie. Normally you start yelling and complaining at me about how long I take getting out of the shower followed by I did this many laps while you were in there why can't you shower any faster." I smiled but she didn't seem to be happy. "Ok seriously what's wrong?"

There was an uneasy silence, "Do you really not remember who you are or anything about your past?" She questioned staring off into the distance.

No one had ever asked me if I truly remembered anything about my past. For the entire year that I have lived in ponyville everyone has always tired help me regain my past, a past that I could not remember to save my own life.

"No. Why do ask?"

"It's just... I guess, well it was just a bad dream. Like the time I dreamt Pinkie killed me."

"Annnndd"

"Well what if your some kind of experiment gone wrong, or a assassin sent to kill Celestia and Luna, or what if you're a mass murder!"

"Don't worry. If I ever remember my past and find out that I was any of those type of guy. I'd give it up for you girls." I re-ensured her petting her as she smiled.

"Come on let's go!" She whined. She was flying outside the house already, I stood by the door and stretched as new clouds formed creating a staircase down from her home. "Now that's cool." Dash spoke up. I don't remember who I was or the life I once had but I found out I could control the clouds after a little adventure with the cutiemark crusaders. When I finally got to the ground we began to make small conversations. After an 15 minutes we made it to AppleJack's farm, I saw almost everypony from ponyville was there as we walked onto the property. The entrance had a banner that said happy birthday Maxis. That was a surprise, even though my birthday was two days ago, well actually it was the day they found me. It was more like an anniversary thing more then anything. To be honest we decide to make that day my birthday because Pinkie was having a panic attack over me not knowing when to through a party for me.

I began to greet everyone at the party and as I went through I noticed a grand table with royal guards around. There sitting at the table was princess Celestia and the newly crowned princess Twilight.

"Hey! How are you Twilight or should I say princess Twilight." I greeted "And how are you princess Celestia?"

"Maxis you know I don't like being called princess." Twilight complained.

" We are doing quite well. I  sorry that we all missed your birthday two days ago I do hope this makes up for it." Celestia responded.

"Oh come on you didn't have to do this all you had to do was just say Happy birthday not through this giant party." I told her.

"Are thou saying this does not please you?" A voice asked me from behind.

"Luna!? Aren't you suppose to be a sleep? Its morning...well it is three or four in the afternoon." I remarked. I never understood why every time I slept in Dash's home I would be a sleep for most of the day.

"Do not fret about me I know I can do my job as a princess of the night even if I stay up a little longer then I should. And besides I do believe that I can enjoy a party now and again." She answered.

"Yeah I guess you're right but still-"

*Boom* something hit me like a ton of bricks my head felt light and my mind went blank and my body felt as heavy as stone. I collapsed on to the ground as I heard the others scream for help as there voices became quieter. I closed my eyes and when they opened once again, I found myself looking at a chess board on the other side another human sat. The room was completely white nothing but the table and chairs were around us. Even then I felt as if I knew the where this was.

"Make your move Maxis." He told me. The bored had just been set up and I would be making the first move. I moved my pawn on A-2  to A-4.

"So how did you leave the young mistress?" He asked moving his pawn from H-7 to H-5.

"She is fine. She was tired from all the running in the yard so she went to bed." I answered. Moving my rook from A-1 to A-3.

"That is fine I suppose." He replied moving his knight from G-8 to F-6.

"If I didn't know you better I'd say something is bothering you Mus." I said moving pawn B-2 to B-3.

"You would laugh if I told you. Or possibly get angry at me for even having these thoughts. You seem to have quite the attachment with mistress Luna." He told me moving his pawn C-7 to C-6. Then my eyes closed and then opened to find myself sitting on a bench.

"Are thou ok?" Luna asked.

"Yes I am fine mistress Luna you should not worry about me." I answered. I looked up and saw everyone around me giving me weird looks.

"Did you just call Luna your mistress?" Some asked.
