Colgate, the Ponyville dentist, has been experimenting with a new type of anesthetic. It has absolutely no adverse side effects (that she's aware of).

Apple Bloom goes to the dentist with a toothache and is treated by Dr. Colgate. The doctor would like to try out a new anesthetic that she made herself...from hallucinogenic mushrooms, various narcotics, and Poison Joke. Without any time to pack her bags, Apple Bloom goes on a trip.
