The Calvary laid in the field, unconscious as their rifles and cannons laid randomly around. Their blue uniforms made their bodies easily noticeable against the green grass. One of them started to move, then a few more, and finally they began to wake from their slumber. Some used their rifles or the closest to the cannons pulled them selves up. A few coughs and groans were heard hear and their as they finally stood up. One of the soldier looked around locking his eyes on the US flag on a cannon close to the ground. He acted quickly running for the flag, picking it up by the pole he carried it not letting it fall. The leader of the Division finally got his bearings he made his way to the soldier with the flag, giving a pat on the back with a smile happy that a soldier gladly carried their counties flag.
"You doing good chap." the Major said before walking off yelling out orders.

In the Crystal Empire things got nasty. King Sombra stood on the balcony watching his slaves work. In the distance you could hear whip cracking and a cry in pain. Down below him a young mare with a golden coat and silver mane fell to the ground in exhaustion. Sombra being angered by this teleported down before pulling out a enchanted black whip. This whip was pain in its physical form, enchanted to put your target in the most pain physically possible. Raising it up in the air he brought it down on her, the tip cut open her back exposing her now bloody wound.
"AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!" she cried out in pain.
"Please stop!" yelled out a slave. He was a Unicorn stallion with a navy coat and light blue mane and eyes. Tears flowed down his cheek as his marefriend was whipped. "Please, I'll take her punishment!" Somba with his cold heart whipped him and his marefriend with no end in sight. In the end they both had cuts covered their bodies with blood oozing out of them staining their coats.
"Move!" yelled out a Guard before they got up slowly stumbling away. He turned his back to them before teleporting back to the castle. Unknown to him was a pissed off Major and Division.

The Empire was awoken by the sound of drums and marching. Sombra walked to the window wanting to know who had awaken him from his slumber. Slaves walked out of their 'shelters' curious to what was happening, the sound of marching picked up as a flag that had 13 red and white stripes with a blue box in the top-left corner with blue stars inside the box. A golden pole held up the flag, what came next looked like spears but different, then no one was prepared for what came after. They looked like ponies but their legs only had one knee and no fur, just white skin. They wore blue clothing and thier faces where flat with small eyes and small stubs for noses but something was clear. They looked pissed!
King Sombra chuckled at the display, they didn't look like much of a threat.
'They will make a great edition to my slaves. Once I humiliate your forces.' he thought. Walking back into his room the soldier continued to march before stopping in the out skirts a distance from the walls. Cannons were moved to the front lines ready to obliterate the walls surrounding the castle.
On top the wall Sombra in his armor appeared in a black flash on top of the wall. His armor was supposed to cause fear but the creatures showed none that he could distinguish. They all stood their with their 'spears' raised into the air pointing towards the shy. He then noticed the tubes on wooden wheels in front of the army. Looked at them with a brow, then they pointed at the castles wooden gate. At least five of them maned the tubes each, the one in the back had a white sting in his gloves leading to the back of the tubes. Then the one in the middle raised a odd sword into the air.
"Fool, do you really think you can defeat me with tho---" Sombra was never able to complete the sentence, but the cannons did.
*BOOM!**BOOM!**BOOM!*
Three of the tubes spat fire and smoke out of it, then the gate exploded into splinters injuring a few Empire Guards by the shrapnel. The army chared forward more cannons firing into the walls easily destroying it for soldier to storm the city. Sombra's guards chared forward towards the unarmored creatures, thinking that the creatures 'spears' wouldn't effect their armor. The first wave of them stopped as Sombra's forces charged on yelling at the top of their lungs.
The first row of Union soldiers crouched down and the ones behind them still stood with their muskets pointed outward. As Sombra's guards aproched they waited until...
*Crack!**Crack!**Crack!**Crack!**Crack!**Crack!**Crack!**Crack!**Crack!*
Blood carried by the musket balls spat out of their bodies as they fell to the ground, some screaming in pain as other died instantly. Sombra looked down at the masiker that just accrued. Thirty of his guards laid and the Crystal streets stained in blood as the humans didn't even have to be close, he had underestimated them. Seeing their true power he saw only one way to stop this, he would curse the Empire.
*Crack!* Pain pounded his skull as his horn was broken in two by the sub-sonic projectile. He yelled out in anger and pain, his most prized possession, the tool that gave him power was just easily destroyed. Looking to the cause his enraged eyes landed on a single Union sharpshooter with brown hair, short beard, and eyes on a roof reloading a stolen Whitworth rifle. He ran to an alley before climbing onto the roof, pulling out his sword he charged at the lone human. Swinging his blade the sharpshooter blocked it with his rifle making a *ting*. Pulling his blade back towards him he readied to make another strike, kinking the sharpshooter in the gut Sombra got over his prey and brought his sword down which was blocked by the rifle again. He looked into the humans eyes looking for fear to feed on, only to find none. He only found a few things, courage, determination, and anger.
When Sombra was distracted the sharpshooter kicked him in an unprotected part of his armor he stubled back. Before the sharpshooter was able to raise his rifle the Major stepped in.
"This is my fight Corporal, assist the 3rd company with the liberation of the slaves." said the blonde aged Major with a beard.
"Yes sir!" replied the sharpshooter before running off still on the roof tops.
"What are you and why have you come?!" demanded the King.
"We are here for the very reason our country exists, for Freedom." said the Major in a calm voice. "Slavery is a sin!"
"Why would you care for another races choices?" asked Sombra.
"Because, I believe that God put us in the universe for a reason."
"And what may that be?" asked Sombra mockingly.
"To bring the light to the dark!" yelled the Major charging.
Meanwhile the sharpshooter jumped to another building, crouching down he leveled his iron sights on a Guards head before pulling the trigger. The upper part of the stallions head exploded in a mess of grey matter and bone, the helmet was like tissue paper against the iron projectile. He climbed down from the roof as more Union soldiers stormed the street easily cutting and/or shooting down enemy soldiers that got in the way. Running over to a slave pen he messed with the lock as the ponies inside looked at the new comer curious of what was going on.
"W-what's going on?" asked a random mare.
"Your salvation." replied the sharpshooter as he loaded his rifle. Standing up he armed it at the lock. "Stand back!" he said pulling the trigger making the lock shatter into pieces. Opening the pens door the freed-slaves ran/walked/stumble out. Some grabbed the weapons of fallen Guards and tools willing to help, over half the city was liberated in a few minutes.
Meanwhile the Major blocked another attack by Sombra their swords clashing together as their eyes starred at each other full of hate. Sombra pulled back his sword in an awkward angle giving the major a clear shot for his stomach. The steel sword sunk into his skin making the King grunt in pain. Yanking his sword out with a trial of blood behind it the Major spun around striking Sombras neck, decapitating him. As the head rolled to the side the body stood there frozen stiff, blood gushing of the neck before falling to the ground. Sheathing his sword the Major walked away, no time to celebrate when you still had an army to command.
An hour later the city was fully under US control, resistance had been crushed easily. Ponies and humans alike watched as the US flag was placed on top of the flag pole.
Liberation had come, and they prevailed.
