The Tale of a murderer

The ghost is always watching, he never sleeps and is never caught.

The night has always been quit and peaceful. No sound, no wind and no guards can find me. I am always one step a head of them. By now you are wondering who I am, well my name is Everdean or better known as the ghost. The name came from the way I kill other ponies, I strike in silence and I am never caught. The guards are always one step behind me. I wounder what my bounty is at right now. I have killed ever since I was eight, when my family was killed and slaughtered in front of me. I survived because they wanted me to survive but you know what I found out who killed them and well lets just say they are no longer among the living. But that is a story for another time. I was taught how to wield a sword. I also learnt how to use my magic to help me in with my victims, I silence them and bound them with my magic, then I slice their throats with my knife. It is an enjoyable sight but some times I fell sorry for what I have done. I hate having a conscience it just pulls me down with it. Sorry I just can’t let my self have emotions. I must be strong; my master would have wanted it that way. I just can’t believe he is dead, and no I did not kill him; it was the group of creatures called the Shadow Clan. They are made up of gryphons, zebras, dragons and ponies. I have killed some of them but only a little. There Group is in high places. Some of the ponies are respected nobles, most of the Gryphons are great warriors in the army, some are even commanders, the dragons are elders and some are young that have just joined the Clan, and the Zebras are respected in their own way. It is hard to keep track of them all. So here I am on the roof tops of Canterlot. I have been tracking one of the Clans top ranking pony members here. I have found out where the one called Nexus lives. Right near the castle, the street is dark and damp from a storm that was scheduled for today. There are a lot of guards that are patrolling Nexus’s house; well at least it will be a challenge.

Hmm I must get in the house with out any of the guards seeing me. That will be to easy, wait what is that, it looks like a gryphon commander and is that a teenaged dragon, wait who is the cloaked pony or zebra. They are entering from the back, perfect I get to have some more fun. Now it is time to sneak in through the top floor window.

Everdean went off in a speeded run as he got to the end of the roof he was on he jumped and landed onto a balcony on the house next to the one he was on, it seem to be a long jump to the next house but he knew he could make it, he was trained in this sort of thing. As he ran to Nexus’s house he saw the glint of some thing shiny heading straight at him. He dodged it but saw that it was a crossbow bolt. Everdean wondered where it had come from when he saw three gryphons pointing crossbows at him, he knew who they were, they were the elite assassin’s squad, and they were the top ranking of all the soldiers that are in the Shadow Clan. They called them self’s The Stalkers. Everdean had no time to deal with them he had to kill Nexus and the other members or he would miss his chance, so he turned and looked at the squad of gryphons and just smiled then he jump but as he jumped the leader of The Stalkers fired his crossbow getting a direct hit right in to Everdean’s back right leg and stunning him. As Everdean fell he saw his life flash before his eyes and for the first time in his life he cried and then the ground hit, and he blacked out.

FOUR DAYS LATER

“Argh” Screamed Everdean as he jolted a wake. He took some time to calm down from the nightmare he just had, it was of the day his family was killed and he was let go. Everdean was not happy at this he had never showed fear before but here he was scared of the past. Everdean now calm looked around at his surroundings, he seemed to be in a room filled with books and old toys, he was not liking this place it was to girly for him. He went to get out of the bed but winced at the pain in his back right leg. He had not felt pain like this in ages. The first time he felt pain like this was when he fought that Shadow Clan Dragon soldier. The damn Gryphons must have put a pain inducing poison on the arrow that was fired at him. But he was not going to let the pain get the better of him. As he went for the door he heard hoof steps heading for the room he was in and a muffled voice. Everdean could not tell if the voice belonged to a mare or a stallion. He quickly rushed back to the bed and pretended to sleep. Everdean heard the door open and he lifted one of his eyes open and saw that it was a purple unicorn with a star for her cutie mark. He now knew where he was; he was in the home of twilight sparkle, the element of magic. She seemed to watch him when she was finished watching him she left but as she turned around she saw Everdean move and she turned back around.

“You know it is impolite to sleep in on ponies you know” Twilight said.

“Well I like my sleep you know” Everdean said back in his emotion less voice with scared twilight a bit, that but a smile on Everdean’ face.

“By the way my name is Twilight sparkle and you are” Twilight asked.

“Call me Everdean” Everdean answered.

“Well Everdean can you walk” Twilight asked.

“Yes I can walk, why do you ask” Everdean said.

“Well I thought you might want some thing to eat, you must be hungry after the accident you had four days ago” twilight said.

“Yeah I would like some thing to eat thank you” Everdean said.

“Oh and by the way do not mind my friend pinkie pie, she can get very excited about meeting new ponies some times” twilight warned.

Everdean did not answer; he was deep in his thoughts. He just followed her down the staircase, Everdean was thinking he had missed some thing out about twilight but could not put his hoof on it. That was when they entered the kitchen and Everdean froze, there sitting at the kitchen table was the Captain of the royal guard him self: Shinning armour. He did not notice Everdean standing there and before Shinning could pinkie pie and the rest of the elements were right in Everdean’s face.

“Hi what is your name, mine is pinkie pie, and do you like parties’ Pinkie said in her hyper active voice that gave Everdean a headache.

“The name is Everdean and I do not think parties and I would mix” Everdean said.

“Howdy the name is Applejack” Applejack said.

“The name is Rarity darling” Rarity said

“The name is rainbow dash fastest flier in all of Equestria” rainbow dash said boastfully.

“The name is fluttershy” fluttershy said in her quit voice that no pony but Everdean could hear.

“Nice to meet you all especially you miss fluttershy, the name is Everdean” Everdean told them as he bowed, as he was bowing he let a smile go across his face which Shinning Armour saw. As Shinning was about to get up cadence stoped him.

“Be nice Shinning we do not want to be rude” cadence said.

Shinning armour did not answer; he just stared at Everdean the rest of the morning. As the day went by Everdean was starting to get worried, that made him angry, he must not show emotion. He was not use to this much stress, here he was in the same house as the royal guard captain, he also had to worry about The Stalkers finding him and ha has to make sure that they do not find out about him being the ghost. It was his biggest challenge yet. He was going to enjoy this.

“I am telling you all I do not trust him” Shinning armour told the rest of his family and elements.

“Oh come on shiny, he can not be that bad” Twilight said.

“No twily he can, you all did not see his smile” Shinning armour said his voice rising.

“Um actually shiny I did see it and it is not that bad” Twilight said and everyone else just nodded and kept out of the argument. Before shinning could talk he heard a sound up stairs.

“Shh did you all hear that” Shinning asked.

They all nodded. And they headed up stairs towards the sound. When they got to the sound it was coming from the room Everdean was staying in, as they reached the door they heard glass break. And then came the thud. They turned the door knob and when they entered they saw nothing, only a broken window. That was when they saw three Gryphons fly off laughing at something. As they flew away one stopped and fell out of they air, wounded from some thing hitting him. That was when they saw Everdean climb back through the window.

“Sorry about that just some unkind birds that attacked me, and I guess they came to finish me off” Everdean lied.

“I want to know why they attacked you” shinning armour said.

“I would but I need to rest” Everdean said before he collapsed and blacked out.
