Pee Break

Our first encounter with the cast didn’t not go too well.
My friend was just told he was being mistaken for a missing Princess. Like we would correct them on this, it could end badly. Dissection, imprisonment, medical experimentation, you name it. You might be thinking; That’s not the world of My Little Pony! It’s a world of Love and Tolerance. That’s on the TV show, this real life... so to speak. There is no telling the difference between the two. I mean the show’s narrow focus was for kids, and that does not mean this is a kids world. Any chance we could die or get killed is not what I want for either of us.
You may expect my friend to at least act surprised, I would have at least tried to, he did not. I watched my friend from my magenta bounded prison and I heard him stammer. Thrashion blinked several times.
"Yes, I'm guessing you are in a state of disbelief. Your medical state and experience speaks volumes," Cadence sighed happily, looking at him. I saw him shift uncomfortably. "What's wrong?"
"Can I go to the bathroom?" he asked, his cheshire cat grin crossing his face.
This time Cadence blinked. "Oh, yes, I guess you can." she chuckled and turned to Twilight.
Twilight chuckled back. "I'll take her." She turned to her number one assistant. "Spike stay here with my brother. Come this way... Thrashion, is it?" The two walked off. He must have had to go, he was really struggling.
I turned to my captors, the purple dragon's big green eyes were looking me up and down them they shifted to Shining Armor. "So, he's a dragon? I mean he was breathing spiders and shooting wads of sticky stuff. Plus half of his body looks like some sort of wolf thing."
"Well, that's what Twily's scanning spell said. My biggest problem is what should we do with him?" Shining pointed at me, as if the answer would come to out of the air.
"Nothing, Captain Shining Armor," Celestia told him. "Your own guards said he risked his life keeping a manticore in check while the hospital was being evacuated. He only attacked you after you tried to molest his friend." She flashed him a mischievous smirk.
"I didn't..." His face started turning bright red.
"Oh Shining, it's OK you thought it was me." Cadence fluttered her eyelashes at him and then started to nuzzle her husband.
Celestia gave them a bright smile. "And I found out that these two are good friends. If some attempted to hurt your friend wouldn’t you try and help them? In the end, no harm done, right?"
"Beside roll play is Tuesday night Shining, you know I wouldn't change that." She finished with a giggle.
"I've never really seen a dragon like him before." Shining commented.
"Yeah, trust me I've seen dragons and there has been nothing like him," Spike added point his claw... finger… thing at me.
"Yes, they're many dragon types that you've never seen before. Most dragons of Equestria have a loose society, they are lazy and have limited intelligence..." Luna turned to Spike. "As we can tell."
"Well most dragons can fly, have armored body parts for smashing. I don't have any of those things, but most do. I can breath fire, eat gems, cannon ball into lava." Spike shrugged and looked down at his feet.
"In truth the dragons of Equestria are all you've ever seen, but there were and are more types then ye could imagine. This is the first of type of its kind to be in Equestria," Princess Luna explained.
That's when I saw an off white, spiky vine or root burrow out of the ground. Before I could say anything it wrapped around Cadence's back leg and yanked her back.
"Cadi!" Shining Armor shouted, with his attention divided his shield dropped from around me.
I was on the ground. Like a dog, I felt a new instinct to bolt after Cadence I felt something land on my back. I glanced back. "You're not getting away," Spike shouted as he gripped my furry waist.
"Wouldn't dream of it. Just following my instincts," I told him. I didn't like leaving my friend, but my new instincts were telling me to pursue. Something didn't feel right about this.
That's when the two of us saw Cadence suspended in the air wrapped by green, snake-like branches. It was a two story flower, the stem was like an enormous green tree trunk, blooming tent-like leaves that shrouded the ground easily. Red petals the made up a twisted main with two petals that had eyes attached to them. In the absolute center of the bloom was a cluster of round sharp teeth. I slid to a halt and took the sight of the mammoth flower in.
"No way that's a Poisonous Dahlia!" I tried to glance at the passenger on my back.
"A what?" I shouted.
"A Poisonous Dahlia is a monstrous flower that lives in lands outside of Equestria. They can grow here, but they can't get this big because they have to get real-real-real-old. That means someone would have to have seen it since before now." I was looking at him a little surprised that he sound so much like his surrogate mother.
"Uh, well, ha," he stammered and looked around a little I think ashamed. "I live in a library, and some times I read. When I get really bored and I'm not busy, Not that I have much of either with Twilight. " His voice became louder.
"That's a great start, is there anything else you know? We can use all the help we can get."
His look changed. "Uhm, they are meat eaters, but they don't eat ponies. Um, they can see colors not just basic."
"Like pink?"
"Yeah, hey," He made a smug smile. "But since it's a plant you can just..."
"I can't burn, remember,” I cut him off pausing for a moment. “But you can. I'll get you where you can do some damage." I bolted to the flower’s base and made my way up it's stalk. Just like when I was carrying my friend I could "Hear" my body speak to me.
Run - faster, faster!
Climb - higher, higher!
Sever - cut, cut the branches!
Save her! - I was reveling in my new strength.
It felt like I could always do it; it felt right. My claws clung to the side of the flower, sinking in deeper with every inch I climbed. Blades extended form my forearms, as I launched myself into the air I sliced through the branch that was holding Cadence. The plant screeched in pain. It started to swat at me with another enormous branch but I dodged it. As she fell to the ground I aimed my mouth at the down ground and let out another huge glob of silk giving her a safe landing spot. Pushing off the side and into the air, I swirled around, faced the plant and shouted. "Burn it! Burn it down little dude!"
"Twilight's is going to be mad at me for destroying a good specimen." I heard him take a deep breath. With a belching sound I saw a swirling, green, fire erupt from just above me, and it engulfed the plant quickly. The plant twisted and screeched in pain. I gave a quick smile as I touched down on the ground.
I freed Cadence from the silk wad and turned back to the Poisonous Dahlia. We watched as the plant twisted and that's when I noticed the smoldering green effect again. Two things were happening quickly; One, Spike's flame was being doused. Two, the plant was shrinking. It kept shrinking until it left a gaping hole in the ground.
"Looks like you just saved the day, little guy," I commented.
"Yeah... I'm awesome I just wish..." He looked at his feet.
"Something wrong?"
"I wish Rarity could have seen that." He groused. He took a more confident pose and smiled again. "I wish she could have seen me look like a hero!"
Cadence chucked. “Don’t worry Spike I’m sure you can tell her how you saved me when you get back to Ponyville.”
I patted him on his shoulder. I looked at the hole where the flower had been. "Ah, what ever little dude. I'm just glad everything turned out OK. Still, that thing was a predator, right? That was thing good at hunting, but what was it hunting? Was it after Thrashion?"
"That would be safe to assume," Celestia said as she touched down, her co-rulers and the unicorn guards in tow.
"Yes, it would be good to get back to the castle as soon as possible," Luna added.
"What should we do with him?" Shining Armor said, pointing at me.
"Hey, he just saved Cadence and he didn't mean any harm," Spike argued.
"While it is true that he just saved your wife and he did not mean any harm… Captain Shining Armor if you feel safer, then you my restrain him. He did break out of your magic restraints." Celestia finished.
Shining Armor looked over at two other guards. "You heard the Princess, muzzle him!" The two guards nodded and produced chains and other restraints.
"Oh, Pony Feathers," I cussed.
