Anguished Soul

I could hear the hoard behind me, screaming and chasing me, hungering for my flesh. It hurt because I knew that somewhere amongst those things was someone I knew, someone I loved, someone to hug, someone to tell my secrets to......now all gone, destroyed and mutilated.

Two years have passed since the initial..........wave....of these creatures, these abominations, and now I’m fourteen, I remember the day my family asked me to do it, my family’s last words were “Live on a survive, for us.....please”, but today after two years of isolation, I couldn’t, I just could not continue.

I was waiting for the teleporter to charge up *ZING* the charge sound resounded above all else, for I knew that salvation lay within the portal system, it was something I saw on a wall of some strange Neo Nazi facility, they were the reason this all started, them and their 115 experiments....HA! Well I bet they’d like to know a 13 year old out did them in weapons design. I ran into the food court of the shopping centre and saw the teleporter glowing, waiting, taunting and on the other side of fifty plus zombies “Fuck!” I shouted.

*Zzzzztttt, pop, pop, Zzzttsshwub......CRACK* “Oh yay the stabilizers broke” I hope I end up as a pile of mush, I can’t continue to fight, I said to myself while waiting in God knows where. It was a field seemingly untouched by all the carnage and death, green, lush, warm, and most of all silent, these few seconds of bliss always made me think of what could have been. It always made me laugh and remind me of how much I hated school, but now that was all I wanted, I normal life and maybe a girlfriend.....or two, but I would end up thinking about the multiple deaths I’d seen, both family friends and pets.

*Poosh* “The next friendship report sister?” Asked Luna “Yes it from Applejack this time” there was a few seconds of pause, then Celestia giggled “Oh what is it sister?” “Oh Applejack, she was right all along as she put it” Luna raised an eyebrow “And this is funny how?” “I’m not really sure, it just sort of is” replied Celestia. Celestia looked up and said “It is time to bring forth the night Luna” at this point Luna looked up and said to nopony in particular “Time seems to fly when you are having fun” “Yes well, it’s a different type of fun you used to have, I think the new guards are considerably luckier than the ones form a thousand years ago” Luna gave her sister a blank stare and said “Whatever do you mean, dear sister?” her voice dripping with sarcasm, Celestia could see where this was going and decided to change the subject “Well it’s about time you raised the Moon” Luna noticed that her sister was trying to avoid the argument, but knew she was right “Yes, fine, I will do it now.......but this is not over” they shared a giggle and hugged for a little before Celestia broke the silence “I think I will invite the Elements over for dinner tomorrow, I haven’t had the chance to talk to Twilight in a while” At this Luna nodded and walked out of the room but not before saying “Don’t try and act innocent, I know you were rougher with the guards than I was.....oh, also, goodnight” Celestia was stunned how could she know about me? The same way I can read your thoughts, sister.

The next evening Twilight, Rarity, Applejack, Rainbow Dash, Pinkie Pie and Fluttershy were sitting at the massive table in the castle dining hall “Twilight, it is so nice to see you again” said Celestia as they nuzzled “Yes it is nice to see you once again, Twilight” said Luna from across the table, “Oh Luna, I didn’t know you would be joining us” said Rarity “If I had known I would of brought along some measuring tools, so I could make you a dress for the Gala, you see I had this won-“ she was abruptly cut off by an orange hoof in her mouth “Rar, I don’t think she wants to be bothered with all your silly frou-frou stuff” Rarity stopped and nodded, then her eyes widened in disgust and she spat out her friends hoof “Oh I do hope you washed that before we left” Rainbow Dash walked over and said “Nope, I was with her the whoooole time, not once did she wash that hoof” giving an evil smirk towards Rarity “Rainbow, you are a worse liar then Applejack” she said giving a flat stare to Rainbow Dash. The food came in and they all sat down eating in almost complete silence, bar the occasional sip of wine or punch.

I looked at my watch and though, Ok another ten seconds, ten.....nine.....eight.....seven.....six....five....Bugger this I am going out with a bang...and a laugh, over the two years I had grown into an eighteen year old, but then seemed to stop ageing, but another strange thing was that I gained the ability to play music if I thought about it enough. Four....Three....Still Alive from Portal starting playing, seemingly from nowhere, I closed my eyes preparing for hell.....one. *ZZZZZTTTTT*

“Heeeeyy thhheerrre big booyyy” said a ‘tipsy’ Luna to one of the guards “Luna, leave the poor boy alone, he’s not old enough to withstand your..........whatever you call it” everypony giggled, the alcohol seemed to make everypony lighten up, and this was clearly evident in seeing the princess of the night hitting on one of her royal guards. Suddenly everypony got a deep chill down there spine and a strange fog grew within the room, but the strangest part about the fog was....music emanated from it “This was a triumph. I’m making a note here, HUGE SUCCESS!” said a strangely distorted female voice then static electricity grew from within the fog “Everypony step back!” shouted Celestia, and as she said everypony in the room stood at the edges, looking into the strange fog. The electricity was condensing at the centre of the room and then suddenly it exploded in a flash of light and sound, and after it all cleared away the was a creature standing there holding a sword, there was a thump and many ponies turned towards it to see Fluttershy on the ground unconscious.

POV: Twilight.

Fluttershy has fainted, great, just great now if we need the elements we can’t use them. Although, this creature seems hurt, it’s got lots of scars it’s bleeding profusely and is.......crying? “Princess, look, it’s crying” I whispered to Celestia, she whispered back “It seems to be under some emotional stress” Luna shouted, using the RCV, “CREATURE WHY DO YOU INTERUPT OUR DINNER!?” the creature slowly raised its head and looked at us one by one, before saying, in a raspy voice “Holy fucking shit” it just stood there, staring.

Captain Solar (Guess which guard captain he is) shouted at the creature “How dare you swear in front of royalty!” the creature looked at him and gave him a stare that even from my point of view, made me shake, Captain Solar wet himself and collapse, this time Celestia shouted “Creature why do you attack my citizens!?” the thing replied “I did not attack, I merely looked at the poor sod, it isn’t my fault he soiled himself over it” I heard Rainbow stifle a giggle, the creature then looked at her and raised an eyebrow, she froze right there and it said “Well I’m glad someone has a sense of humour” she visibly relaxed after he said that “What is your name....Pegasus?” she puffed up her chest and flew over to him right in his face and said “Rainbow Dash, fastest flyer in all of equestrian, and don’t you forget it!” he raised his paw and shook Rainbow’s hoof “I don’t believe I will” meanwhile the music was still playing, go ahead and leave me, what is that music?

Captain Nightwing (Trololo) stood up towards the creature and said “You may have scared Solar but I will not go down so easily!” the thing looked at him and sighed “I don’t wish to fight you, or anyone, anything, anywhere” the creature looked sad again.

POV: Cameron.

I didn’t want to fight, all I wanted was to be safe and warm, and have a family. I looked at the.....ponies? Before me and the unicorn with darker colouring turned towards me and said “Yeah right, if you don’t want to fight then put down the blade” I looked at him and started to laugh, My God he actually thinks I’m that stupid “You honestly think I am that stupid, because the very second I put this blade down you will attack me....I really don’t take kindly to people.....um...ponies..Insulting my intelligence” I said with a calm voice. That is my best trait; I rarely get angry or even annoyed at anything or anyone. He looked at me shocked “Oh...uuuhhh I....um...” he looked lost for words “It is ok, my species has a tendency to look like idiots” I looked at him a smiled, he smiled back “CREATU-“ I cut off the deep blue horse “SILENCE!” my voice was louder than hers and it surprised her “Sorry about that but my name is Cameron and could you please stop shouting, oh and the yellow one is waking up” they all looked towards the yellow pony and the purple one said, quietly as not for me to hear “Oh thank goodness she’s alright” I sighed “Yes it is good, but before we continue can I please get something to eat......and maybe somewhe” before I finished the sentence I collapsed from exhaustion.
