The Secret's Out
Chapter 1
Load Full Story"Why don't you go for it, big bro?" Barbara asked her identical twin beside her, leaning on his locker.
"Because it's not just all willy nilly, Barb..." Spike answered her, pockets in his pants.
"Oh, c'mon! She'll say yes, I know it!" Barb enthused.
"And if she doesn't?"
"Then I'll force her to say yes!" Barbara exclaimed, throwing her hands up in the air. "You know that I'm her bestest friend in the whole wide world!"
Spike gave out a sigh of defeat then runs his hands through his newly green-dyed spiked hair. He got it dyed when he turned 16 because his half sister, Twila, who was super strict with him. Since he hung out at her house a lot when he was little, he's gotten used to her antics. Being a teenager, Spike's been wanting to do "cool" stuff, and one of them was dying his hair another colour. His hair was naturally light brown, but he thought having green, emerald-coloured hair was cool. But, Twila, being the person she is, said no, until his real sister was born, Barbara. Everyone in his family was having a party for Barb's new arival, and where was he? Dying his hair green in the washroom. Twila never did like it when she first saw, said it didn't fit his looks, but it grew to her eventually. Spike and Twila were the best of buddies when they were little, Spike getting into all sorts of trouble while Twila watches him from the distance telling him, "I told you so."
He gave out a sigh, thinking about that one time where he tried to put glue into this one lady's high heels. Spike used to hate heels so much, because it looked so uncomfortable that it even bothered him, thinking about what it would feel like to be in them. So, he planned on ruining all the high heels he could find in town, starting with his mother's.'Course he got in trouble, but there was something he did before squirting glue in them. He actually tried them on. Now, being 7, he wondered how it would really feel like. And just like he suspected, they were NOT in the slightest comfortable. Little did he know, Twila had been looking for him and she just so happened to see him trying the shoes on, then telling on him once she saw the bottle of glue in his hand. Spike got in trouble, getting a lecture from his mother about how he should treat a lady's things with care. Then after the boring 15 minutes Spike sat through, he saw Twila outside mouthing, "I told you so."
"Well?" Barb says, snapping Spike back to reality.
"Ugh, fine, I'll do it!" He whines, just when the bell rang.
"Oh, oh, here she comes!" Barb points at the nearby door to their right, revealing a tall, pale girl coming out of it. She had curly royal purple hair, going down to her hips. There was one curl on the right side of her hair, bouncing as she walks. The uniform she's wearing just looks different on her compared to Barb. The white long sleeved top fits her figure perfectly, hugging her thin model-esque figure. The red checkered tie girls are supposed to wear seemed affix to her top, not a single wrinkle was seen. Then there's the skirt. The pleated skirt that matches the tie seems short on her because of her tallness, which shows enough of her thighs to drive the boys crazy. Lastly were the thigh high socks, which only came up a few inches on her knee, paired with black Mary Jane styled shoes with blocky heels.
Her face had wonderful features; eyes were the colour of sapphires, just with the right amount of eyeliner; a pale baby blue eyeshadow covers her eyelids. Her nose was in a perfect angle, a slight point at the tip; cheeks were perfectly powdered with blush, a silky rose colour. Lips were luscious, full and tender, a burgundy colour covering them.
"Rosy! Hey, Rosaline!" Barb shouts out, calling her. She looks their way, causing Spike to blush when she formed a smile on her face, then making her way towards them. Barb and Rosy gave eachother a tight hug, as if not seeing one another for a long time.
"Oooh, how I've missed you!" Rarity squeals, releasing their embrace, and fixing her shoulder bag. She looks at Spike and smiles.
"Hello, Spike! Haven't seen you in a while." She says, hugging him as he returns the hug, his face red as a beet.
"Uh... H-hey..." He stutters, causing Barb to giggle.
"Hey, big bro, don't you have something to ask Rosy?" Barb says, her eyes lidded as a seemingly evil smile formed on her face as if plotting something mischievous. Spike shot her a glare that only made Barb laugh more.
"C-c'mon! I- ha! I'm sure she would love to hear it!"
"What are you two up to?" Rosaline asked, putting a hand to her hip.
"Uuh, she means..." Spike says, looking for words to describe the situation he's in. Suddenly, he sees Barb moving away from them slowly, enough to see that Rosy doesn't notice.
"Uhhhmmm.... I, uh... I was wondering if..." Spike started, a drop of sweat forming on his forehead.
"Yes...?" Rosy asked, pursing her lips.
"Um... Would you..." Spike begins once again. "Wouldyouliketogooutwitme?!" He finishes, closing his eyes tightly, his fists clenched as tightly as he could. Barbara, meanwhile, was busy fist pumping, celebrating silently. And Rosaline? She stood there, shocked and surprisingly... Blushing like mad. Her whole face seemed like a cherry, her dilated pupils didn't help either. Her hand slowly makes it's way to her mouth, trying to cover it to speak but snaping it shut under her hand.
Spike opened one of his eyes to check if he was still alive, and to his shock, the girl of his dreams was just as shocked as he was. He looked to where Barb was standing, which was in the doorway Rarity exited from before, and she was still celebrating, fist pumping everywhere.
"Sp-spike..." Rosaline suddenly says, grabbing Spike's full attention.
"I understand if you don't want to, it's just that I've always liked you and I hoped for you to say yes, then there's Barb who says that if you say no, she'll force you to say yes, I don't know how but she says that you're her bestest friend in the whole wide world and... And..." Spike's breathing escalated, but quickly slows down when he feels a touch on his shoulders. He looks up to see Rosy about a few inches away from his face.
Oh, my gosh... Ooooh, is this really happening?! Spike thought, blushing once again.
"Spike I'm flattered, really!" Rosy started, now releasing her grasp on Spike.
"And?" Spike found himself asking.
"And... We'll see... I don't know the answer to it yet, but I'll make sure to have one soon and you'll be the first to know, of course..." Rosaline trails off, as she looks down and started twiddling her fingers.
"Oh..." Spike says, his heart slightly starting to crack as he looks down at his shoes.
"Well, I'll see you soon! I have to go meet up with my little sister. I promised Cassy I'd buy her a treat for getting a B on her Algebra test. " Rosy said, sighing.
"Yeah... You go ahead..." Spike says, almost whispering it.
Then he felt it. Warm, soft lips touch his cheek and then a quick breeze. He looks up to see no one in front of him anymore. But was suddenly changed when Barb appeared in front of him, squealing.
"Sooooooo? How'd it go?"
No response.
"Big bro, don't leave me hangin'!" Barb complained, shaking Spike.
"I'm afraid I was left hanging as well..." Spike said, touching his cheek.
