"Sister, what is the meaning of this? Why do we have no control over the moon?" The younger alicorn asked her sister. "We know not, dear sister, for we have no control over the sun either. But we fear something bad is happening..." Before she could move to investigate further a bright flash of light followed by a blood red light shown from the sky. A single beam of yellow light descended to the ground; white light swirling around it. "We shall get to the bottom of this!" Luna yelled, galloping for the beam of light. "Luna no!" But it was to late. The princess of the night hit the beam, and a grand explosion ripped through the castle and surrounding Everfree forest. British Isles circa 54 BC "Storm every nook and cranny men! We aren't leaving till every savage is dead, and every druid impaled on his staff!" Yelled the centurion to his men from the cave opening. Elisedd pulled his sword and ran into the cave. He ran into a wall of his soldiers who had stopped at the opening of an anti-chamber. He pushed through them to see why they had stopped. In the center of the room was a druid yelling gealic words at a body on a slab in the center of the room. He had heard the chant before, when he was a boy in the small village in south east Gual. "Cad tá sé ag iarraidh a chur i gcrích tríd an?(What is he hoping to accomplish through this)?" asked one of the barbarians to his left, looking just as dumbstruck as some of the soldiers. "Tá sé ag súil a thoghairm le Dia a mharú dúinn(He's hoping to summon a god to kill us)." Elisedd answered back in the same tongue. As if the druids words worked, suddenly from the center of the room shot a great beam of blinding light. Flashing for only a moment it faded, replaced by a blood red light to seep through the cracks in the cave roof. In the center a dull white light started, steadily growing brighter. When the light had grown to an almost blinding level; a figure appeared from within. "Someone stop that man before it's to late!! Yelled a soldier from behind him. Elisadd grabbed his sword and ran toward the druid. Just as he was about to lunge a shockwave was released from the beam of light and he was sent flying. He awoke many minutes later with a slab of the cave wall laying on him. Pushing off the boulder he got up and looked around the cave. To one side most of his troops and the barbarians lay dead, and to the other side the druid lay impaled upon his own staff. "Well when I said that I mostly meant it figuratively..." Walking toward where the light was he looked on in amazement. In the direct center of the burn mark, a crescent shape in the floor, lay a young woman in a ragged flowing dress. "Centurion Elisadd what's the meaning of this?" Yelled General Caeser yelled into the cavern. Elisadd turned and bowed to the military leader. "General Ceaser, sir. I-I don't know what happened. One moment we were charging the cave, the next some druid was summoning...something. This woman sir," He said motioning to the young lady. "Sir, I believe she may be a sign from the gods." The aged general nodded and smiled. "Well if you think so, then you can have the honor of finding what her message from the gods may be." Elisadd nodded and picked the woman up from the ground. "Oh and remember, when the gods send a message, they like that message to be treated kindly." The Centurion nodded and made his way in the direction of the encampment. Equestria present day Luna sat on her balcony over looking the land before her. It was a dark, quiet night in Equestria, nothing but the gentle whispers of the wind could be heard for miles around, even in the city of Canterlot. Sighing she turned and headed into her quarters. "Sister said she would be teaching Twilight a few things in the library, perhaps I'll go and see what they're doing." Walking out of her room she headed for the palace library. Celestia had been calling Twilight to Canterlot for teaching more often than before now, perhaps she was just frightened. There had been many attacks in the last few years, and with the growing rate of attacks, a bit of paranoia could be in order. She reached the library just as Celestia finished up a lesson on alicorn history. "...and that's how alicorns were made. Oh, hello sister, what are you doing tonight?" "Oh, nothing much. Just decided to go for a stroll around the castle, see what you were teaching the young princess." Luna smiled dryly. Celestia looked over her pupil. "Yes, we were just about to cover a piece very dear to you... something you may be better accustomed to teach about when I think about it." Her blood ran cold, she knew what she meant. "Very well..." She walked over to one of the shelves, a section dedicated to the guards of Equestria. She pulled one of the books, creating a loud sputtering noise from within the shelf. Suddenly the shelf from which she pulled the book popped open, revealing a hidden compartment. Within the compartment was many strange objects, a banner, a dagger, an envelope, and a dress. "Princess what are those?" Twilight asked. "These are th-" She was cut off by a pulse hitting the castle. A blood red light seeped through the windows lining the window. Celestia looked at Luna with wide eyes; she knew what she was thinking. Before any of them could react Luna took off in a b-line for the window closest to the everfree. "Luna no!" But the night princess could not hear her, she was to far gone now. Elisadd here I come! And she hit the light beam that had only finished manifesting in the ruins of the castle.
