Saber HD

It all fell apart at the picnic. It was a warm, sunny day in Ponyville. SaberStar was flying at full speed towards a hill (for some reason) in a very secluded part of the outskirts of Ponyville. He was late for a picnic with his six friends, Twilight, Pinkie Pie, Fluttershy, Rainbow Dash, Rarity and Applejack. When he got to the base of the hill, he was exhausted. He climbed up the hill but stopped when a huge pink beam. What the hell was that?, he thought. One of Rainbow Dash's tricks?. He was starting to get a feeling that something wasn't quite right. His suspicions were confirmed when blood splattered in front of him. His exhaustion left him immediately. His wings spread so fast, a feather fell from his left wing. He flew up and what he saw scarred him for life. Twilight and Rarity were dead, killed in the most brutal ways possible. AppleJack and Rainbow Dash were nowhere to be seen. He didn't see Fluttershy. Saber scanned the hill for any sign of his marefriend. He saw her flying at top speed away from Pinkie Pie. Pinkie was smiling, running after her. Saber was horrified. Why would Pinkie do this? "Pinkie," he yelled, "What the hell are you doing?" Pinkie turned her attention to Saber and her smile widened. "Oh goodie! Another party member!" A ball of pink crackling energy formed in her hooves and she shot it at him. He dodged just in time. A hole was in the mountain behind him. "Stay still please!" she asked politely. "Why should I?! You're trying to kill the pony who means the most to me!" Pinkie then ran at him, flying off the cliff as she did. Literally flew and tackled him. Saber instinctively smacked her with a wing. For some reason, she let go and out on a sad look. "Why did you cut me?" she said unhappily. She wasn't lying either. A scratch was across her face. He looked at his wing. For some reason, the were made of a black iridescent metal and were connected by a cyan frame. They looked a bit different than normal Pegasus wings. The feathers were facing the opposite direction. When did this happen?, he thought. "You're no fun," Pinkie pouted, "Fluttershy's more fun than you." She climbed up the hill with unnatural speed and flew towards a small yellow and pink speck. Rage filled Saber. A red Fire Ruby in the shape of star floated in front of his chest. Black crystal armor spread across his body. Runes appeared on the armor and glowed dark red and ice blue. Somehow, he knew what the rune that was three horizontal lines on top of each other meant, 'Sometimes'. He felt heat near his wings. They were on fire. He shot after Pinkie who was getting closer to Fluttershy. Fluttershy had tired herself out by flying at top speed. She was now running as fast as she could. Saber felt tears coming to his eyes. He wasn't going to make it. He would lose the pony he cared for the most. That fear turned into more rage. He flew faster than anything. Saber heard a loud boom. He had done what looked like a Sonic Rainboom. It wasn't. There was no rainbow spreading out in a circle. It was blue fire that spread out in a circle that was so bright, it blotted out the sun momentarily. Saber caught up with Pinkie in no time. He was lucky he did. She as charging up that pink death ray of hers and was about to shoot it at Fluttershy. Saber flew in front of Fluttershy and said, "You won't hurt her. If you do, I will break you." "Awe, you're still no fun. Guess I'll have to teach you what it means to smile!" And she fired her beam. Saber put one wing around Fluttershy and one in front of himself, hoping to deflect the ball of energy coming towards them. He whispered in Fluttershy's ear. "If we don't make it, I'm glad my last moments are with you." He faced the sphere which was right in front of him, thinking it would be the last thing he ever saw, when suddenly, the energy ball disappeared, His wings and armor were glowing ice blue and crackling. They had absorbed the energy and were preparing to do something. He transferred all of the energy into the star shaped jewel in hi chest, keeping his wings around Fluttershy. The gem shot the energy stored inside of it right back at Pinkie. The ball was no longer pink. It was now a ball of freezing cold, ice blue fire, dangerous and bright. It hit Pinkie Pie and they saw her no more. All that was left was a patch of blackened grass. Fluttershy started sobbing and she curled up on the ground. Saber sat next to her and wrapped his wing around her. "I'm so sorry. I don't know why this happened." He kissed her on the forehead and flew her back to Ponyville.

By the time he had got there, Fluttershy had calmed down a bit and now was leaning on him and crying. We need to call a town meeting, he thought, They must know. Saber galloped to town hall as fast as he could with Fluttershy. They attracted a lot of attention from other ponies. His armor was glowing green. Urgent, it meant. He threw open the doors of the town hall. The mayor's secretary was sitting at a desk, writing papers. "We need to see the mayor." he said. "Do you have an appointment?" She asked, "No, but we need to see her now. It's an emergency." "Well I guess it'll have to wait. No appointment, no seeing the mayor." the secretary replied. "We need to see Mayor Mare. Now." he flipped a bladed wing up faster than she could react. The mare looked down at the blade and her eyes widened. "Uh, okay. Visit with the mayor. The fifth door on the right." "Thank you." Saber replied and flipped the feathers on his wing to make it look like a normal Pegasus wing. They walked towards the mayor's office. Saber rapped on the door. "Come in." came the mayor's voice. He opened the door. A brown mare with a grey mane and glasses was sitting at a desk. She looked up and said, "May I help you?" she asked, eyeing his armor and wings, and Fluttershy leaning against him. "We need a town meeting tonight. One exception. No younger ponies. Only twenty and older." he said sharply. "Why do you need a town meeting? And why no younger ponies?" she asked suspiciously. "This is the day it all fell apart. I don't want to explain everything right now. This is the worst damn thing this town has encountered in centuries." "Then we shall hold a town meeting. Tonight after all the younger ones go to sleep." the mayor replied.

The town meeting was held inside the town hall. "Everypony, may I have your attention please? We have what sounds like a tragedy!" the mayor called All the ponies murmured to each other. "We have our speakers for tonight. Without further ado, SaberStar and Fluttershy!" Saber and Fluttershy walked onto the podium. Sadness was in Saber's eyes. Fluttershy had stopped crying but was still leaning on him. "Something horrible has happened this day. I've called you here and not your young ones because this is not for young ears. Twilight, Rarity, Applejack, and Rainbow Dash are all dead. Killed brutally by their own friend, Pinkie Pie. She was insane at the time. We don't know why she went insane, but she had unnatural powers such as shooting beams of energy, having unnatural speed and the ability to fly." "That's impossible!" a voice shouted from the crowd, "Nopony has powers like that! You called us here for nothing!" "Oh really?" Saber challenged. He spread his wings, they caught fire and his armor glowed red and for some reason his eyes glowed the color of a Changeling's. The crowd gasped. He put out his fire, dimmed his lights and his eyes went back to normal. "Is that enough proof for you?" The crowd was silent. "Good. Now today me, Fluttershy, Twilight, Pinkie, Rarity, Applejack, and Rainbow Dash had all planned a picnic. I was late for it so I couldn't save the others. By the time I arrived, Pinkie was after Fluttershy." He wrapped a wing around her and pulled her closer. His armor glowed ice blue. Protective. "I distracted Pinkie and she tackled me. I smacked her with a wing but it cut her. She let me go and I looked at my wings. They were like this." He held up a wing as an example. "She said I was no fun and that Fluttershy was more fun than me. She took off and my armor appeared. I followed after and got there just in time. I shielded us with my wings as Pinkie charged up one of her energy spheres. She shot it at us and for whatever reason, they absorbed the energy and I managed to fire it back at Pinkie. We never saw her after that. Thank you for your time." He stepped down from the podium.

Fluttershy woke up late in the night, shivering from the nightmare she had just woken up from. She started to cry quietly. Fluttershy missed her friends. She didn't get it. Why would Pinkie do this? She couldn't help it. She wasn't crying quietly anymore. SaberStar woke up to Fluttershy crying. Saber got up and sat next to her and out his wing around her to reassure her that he was there. His eyes turned ice blue instead of red. The armor must've made a connection. Now his eyes changed according to his mood as well. He stayed up late that night thinking. He had a feeling that the armor and wings hadn't come from nowhere. He would have to investigate this further. An image flashed through his head, like a half forgotten melody. What felt like a memory, but wasn't. He hadn't remembered this. A battle. Changelings everywhere. He was wearing his crystal armor and his wings were the same kind that he had now. He wondered where that had come from. It was unclear what he was supposed to do but he couldn't go to sleep now. The images of his dead friends flashing through his mind. Saber looked down at his wing. It was normal. Wait, no, it was bigger than normal. He kissed the petite mare on the forehead and asked her what was wrong. Fluttershy looked up at him and tried to explain a few times, but eventually broke down again. Saber tried to comfort her, but to no avail. Her friend, Angel glared up at me as if to say, This is your fault she's upset. Saber heard a sound. A very familiar sound, almost like a laugh. A high-pitched, giggly, happy laugh. Saber's ears pricked up as there was a knock at the door. He glanced at it. Without him doing anything or saying anything, the door opened. It was Pinkie Pie, or more commonly known as Pinkamena Diane Pie, since her mane was flat. She was holding a knife to a certain cyan mare's neck, looking completely insane, covered in blood, and wearing a dress made from, skin.

"Catch me if you can," She sang, looking directly at Saber.
