Sam is a man living on Earth (I dont know were) with a few friends and no family. On his way to work a portal appears that is expanding to the point were rubbish is flying in. He realises its destroying the planet so he has to give up his friends to save the planet. But he enters the realm of Equastria for a whole new adventure!
