"Twilight Sparkle, my faithful student, how lovely it is to see you again." Celestia said with a smile on her face as she stood in front of the library's freshly opened door. Twilight blushed slightly at the usual greeting from her mentor before she stood aside and allowed the princess access to the building. The sizeable mare in question gracefully slid past her student and almost immediately sat down upon one of the soft chairs amidst the many bookshelves and tables in the building. Once the princess had made herself comfortable she turned to face her student with an expression that appeared to be a unique blend of seriousness and eagerness before she opened her mouth and decided to speak.
"How would you want someone to tell you that they love you?" Applejack asked her rainbow-maned friend who sat underneath an apple tree directly in front of her, relaxing underneath the afternoon sun. Rainbow Dash's eyebrow raised slightly upon hearing the oddly placed question before she turned her head slightly to face her friend.
"Do you mean me specifically or..."
"...Someone else?" Twilight asked in response to her mentor's question. The large white mare in front of responded by nodding her head.
"Yes, how would you specifically want some pony to tell you that they loved you." Celestia asked, making Twilight blush slightly as she realized what her mentor was probably implying. The purple mare took a slight breath before opening her mouth to speak.
"Well, I guess it would depend on how long I've known the pony and what our relationship is like." Rainbow Dash explained to Applejack who gave a slight smile towards her friend from her shadowy area underneath the tree.
"Well, our relationship isn't anything special right now..."
"...We're currently just friends with each other but I feel as though my feelings towards her are..."
"...evolving into something else and I want to know..."
"...if she feels the same way." Celestia explained, taking in a small breath of oxygen as she finished explaining her situation to her star pupil. The purple filly standing in front of her appeared to have a slightly confused expression on her face as she attempted to decipher the messy jumble of words that had come out of her mentor's mouth. Once she was sure she had translated the meaning of the words correctly and formulated an appropriate response she decided to voice her response to her mentor.
"So, you like girls?" Rainbow Dash asked, causing Applejack to give her friend a grin.
"Not all girls, just this one special girl." Applejack said to her friend with a smile on her face as she started to stare intently at her friend, as if gauging her reaction to this new piece of information, and suppressing a slight chuckle upon seeing her slight shock upon receiving the only slightly surprising piece of information. Once the rainbow maned mare recovered from her mild shock she turned to her friend and opened her mouth to ask a question.
"So who's the lucky mare?" Twilight asked with a blush on her face as she mentally prepared herself to act surprised when she heard the words she believed her mentor was going to say. The alicorn beamed at her student and with a large smiled on her face she opened her mouth to reveal her possible future lover.
"Princess Celestia? Really?" Rainbow Dash said with a truly shocked and slightly disappointed expression on her face as she attempted to accept what her friend had just revealed to her as fact. The farm pony appeared to take no notice of her shocked friend as her eyes appeared to glaze over. Taking this as a sign that her friend was telling the truth, as well as the fact that she was the element of honesty, Rainbow Dash decided to ask a second question related to the news she had just received.
"When did you two, you know, get together?" Rainbow Dash asked, her friend gave her a rather large smile before proceeding to explain.
"We met at the grand galloping gala. She tasted my apple pie and claimed it was the best thing she had ever tasted in her life, she liked it so much that she invited me to the castle to cook for her a couple months later..."
"...and when she came to the castle to cook for me we started talking about various subjects. After awhile we realized we had quite a bit in common and we started arranging secret meetings with eachother." Celestia explained with a smile on her face as well as a dreamy expression that made Twilight feel a little bit of jealous towards her friend who had apparently captured the princess' heart. After a few seconds of contemplation over how she should deal with the princess' revelation she gave a slight sigh and lifted her head to face the princess.
"What kind of things did you have in common?"
"We had a lot of things to talk about. For instance, I live on a farm and as a result I'm responsible for the well-being of all of the apple trees around the farm as well as my sister and my brother. Celestia lives in a castle and is responsible for pretty much all of the ponies in the world as well as her sister and her nephew." Applejack explained with a smile on her mouth and her dream-like expression still on her face.
"The fact that she's easy on the eyes doesn't hurt either." Applejack said with a smile on her face as her attention turned towards the sky. Of course, one look at the sky appeared to give the element of honesty a shock that caused her to turn towards her rainbow-maned friend.
"What time is it?" Applejack asked, giving a slight shock to Rainbow Dash who was still contemplating the apparent relationship between Applejack and the princess of the sun. Rainbow Dash gave a slight sigh as she looked down at a watch wrapped around her foreleg.
"It's 1:24." Rainbow dash read outloud from the watch, which caused Applejack's eyes to almost burst from their sockets as she quickly stood up from her resting place underneath the shady apple tree.
"I'm sorry, but it appears as though I've stayed too long." Princess Celestia explained as she stood up from her seat and started to trot towards the library door, something of which Twilight failed to notice as she stared at her hooves and digested the information Celestia had metaphorical fed her. The large white alicorn turned around and gave her student a slight smile.
"Wish me luck." the alicorn said before she pushed th door open and stepped and allowed the beautiful afternoon sun to caress her body. Twilight allowed herself to steal a glance at the alicorn as she left and muttered to herself.
"That should be me." Rainbow Dash whispered to herself as she watched the incredibly sexy behind of Applejack run through the fields on he beautiful sunny day as she ran towards her hometown to meet the apparent object of her affections. Rainbow Dash grimaced slightly as she thought of what the two ponies would likely be doing later in the day.
"Whispering sweet nothings in eachothers ears and probably engaging in a shameless make-out session later, probably in public." Rainbow Dash said to herself as a mildly humorous image flashed into her mind of Celestia having to lean a few inches in order to kiss her much shorter fillyfriend.
"I should be the one kissing that large mare." Rainbow Dash said to herself as a blush formed on her cheek as she thought of the princess of the land and her engaged in a pssionate kiss for all of the ponies in the land to see.
"I should be the one kissing that sexy farm pony." Twilight said to herself as she found herself pacing around the library with the knowledge in her head that her mentor and friend had stolen the love of her life from under her hooves.
