Rainbow Dash is born daughter of Celestia. She dearly loves her mother, but the expectations put on her because of that really make her feel stifled. She longs to free of the stuffy nobility she's surrounded by. At her coming-of-age ball, she finally strikes out on her own after finding her mother arranging a marriage for her. She happens upon Ponyville(read: crashes in Fluttershy's backyard) and feels like she's truly come home. The Hooves of Fate seem keen on returning her to her mother, because Ponyville is declared host of the 1000th Summer Sun Celebration. What happens next will change the face of Equestria as she knows it.
