False Love, True Pain
Reflection upon a time, long since past
Load Full StoryNext ChapterPrincess Cadance, or rather the being believed to be Princess Cadance, walked through the Royal Canterlot Sculpture Garden, lost in thought. The three mares walking behind her simply thought the bride to be was collecting her thoughts in preparation for the upcoming wedding, an event the three were excited to be a part of, honored to be bridesmaids in a royal wedding of all things. The Changeling Queen Chrysallis however was simply planning out her new designs for the place once it was under her control. 'A few siphoning pods over there will do nicely,' she thought to herself. Looking around though, she froze in her tracks at the sight that met her gaze. The stone statue of the creature known and feared, far and wide, as Discord. She stared at chaotic being, frozen in stone in what looked like a pose of great discomfort. A small smile come on her lips even as she glared at him. One of the mares cautiously asked, "Umm, Princess Mi Amore Cadenza? Is everything alright?"
The disguised Queen's tone was biting as she snapped out, "It's fine!" The mares flinched at that as Chrysallis looked back with a glare, saying, "Leave me be... make yourselves useful and go see if that mud pony is still making those abysmal apple treats." The three nodded and left, not quite running, but eager to leave the obviously disgruntled alicorn to herself. The disguised queen kept an eye on them until they were out of sight, leaving her truly alone before she looked back to the statue, glaring. The longer she stared, the more enraged she became before she finally spat upon the statue and turned to leave.
Our days could have been perfect.
He meant it to be a love potion, but things didn't turn out so well.
At first it seemed to go so well.
There's something here about a dragon...
Our lives could have been nothing but bliss,
...a kingdom falling...
all I desired was your loving kiss.
...chaos reigning.
But in the end you drove us both to hell.
Age of Unity : Year 198
Princess Chrysallis stared at the mirror, inspecting her appearance with a critical gaze. The alicorn was quite tall, taller than many stallions in fact, her aqua blue mane care for meticulously by a small army of ponies who were experts when it came to mane upkeep. Sure, there were plenty others who could probably do a fine job maintaining her appearance who's cutie marks didn't specifically focus on such things, but she was a ruler of a kingdom, she deserved to look nothing less than the absolute best. Her adviser, a younger mare, unicorn of course, wearing a simple, but well made dress waited for her ruler to finish her morning inspection. She had her blonde mane done up in a bun and kept her cocoa brown coat well cared for all on her own. Her name was Deliah Shimmer, though her Princess usually referred to her by her maiden name of Duty since she was the daughter of the princess' former adviser, and he had been the son of the adviser before, and so on going back to her original adviser. Even though she'd been born into the job, she didn't mind since it had many quite luxurious benefits.
"What do you think, Duty?"
The question snapped Deliah to the moment at hand and out of her thoughts of spending some time with her husband as she looked to the Princess, asking, "What do you mean, your highness?"
Those green eyes turned upon her as she asked, "We mean of the suitor coming from Equestria, Duty. We wish to know what you think of him?"
Delilah thought for a moment, trying to think of what would be pertinent information before saying, "Well, the prince is known as a skilled duelist, he's a significant voice in their politics both as a prince and as a judge of the High Courts. Hmm... oh, he's a descendant of one of the founders, your highness."
The princess raised a brow in interest at that, asking, "Oh? Do you know which one?"
Delilah winced, wishing she hadn't asked that as she said, "Well... he is a unicorn, but he's descended from Chancellor Pudding-"
She was cut off as the princess rolled her eyes, turning away as she spoke with disgust, "Ugh, a... mud pony? He has that filthy blood in his veins? We may as well send him away at the door!" Duty remained silent as the Princess turned back to the mirror, though this time in thought before she sighed, saying, "No... that would not be very diplomatic. I'll just have to hope I don't have to touch him too much when greeting him, but make a spot in my schedule for a bath after he departs."
Delilah nodded, levitating a small scroll from a pocket in the dress along with a quill and ink bottle, firmly stopped to prevent spilling in the dress, and made a note of the princess' desire. Personally, she didn't mind the Earth ponies, or the pegasi for that matter, but there were still those, especially in the Kingdom of the Blessed, who felt that Earth ponies were inferior to pegasi and unicorns while unicorns weren't fond of the airborne equine due to how savage they could be. It led to Earth ponies, those who remained in the kingdom after the War for Independence anyway, being treated with very little respect.
The princess finally nodded in satisfaction, stepping away from the mirror. She was dressed in a beautiful dress with a crown atop her head, balanced perfectly as she began to walk towards the doors, Delilah falling into step behind and slightly to the right of her, the adviser taking the first few steps a tad heavily to give the guards on the other side of the door warning, which they heeded quickly, magically pulling the door open and bowing to the princess as she walked past, their ruler giving a small nod to the armored unicorns. She didn't even look towards her as she asked, "What is for breakfast this morning, Duty?"
Delilah didn't even need to check her notes as she said, "Fresh strawberries, a small amount of bread with grape jam, and a salad, your highness. I thought you would like your favorite this morning before meeting with the prince."
A small smile graced the princess' lips as she said, "Yes, hopefully it will help us deal with the mud blood's presence for as long as we have to endure it."
Author's Note
Just a little prologue type thing to introduce things. Before you go getting scared by the gore and sex aspects, they won't be brought in until later, and it's not gore and sex for the sake of gore and sex, but because it's part of the story. As for the time at the bottom, that's the point that it takes place on the timeline, which you'll find in the forum for the Blackened Stars, Dragon's Blood group.
