This is Just the Beginning
Lightning Chaser’s POV
“Everypony for themselves!!!!” a panicking teacher yelled out as a bunch of zombies came closer to our classroom.
I ran down the hall and opened my wings ready to fly out a broken window. Suddenly I realized that I had left my coltfriend to fend for himself. I looked back to see if he was there, thankfully he was right at my tail.
Oh my gosh! Oh my gosh! Oh my gosh! What do I do? I can’t just go and leave him here. Oh what to do? What to do? They’re getting closer to us. I don’t have that much time to-
“Lightning Chaser!”
The sudden yell from my coltfriend snapped me out of my train of thought.
“What? Do you have an idea that could get the both of us out of here?” I asked him, hoping for a good answer.
“I think I can teleport us right outside of the school, but I’m not sure that it will completely work. I haven’t fully lear-“
“Just do it already and get us out of here!”
“Okay fine just give me a sec. I need to focus my mind.”
“Whatever, just hurry up and get us out of here!”
I watched him focus all of his energy to the spell. I hoped that he could get us out of here. The zombies were getting closer and closer. I soon became face to face with one of them, but as soon as that happened there was a bright flash. Before I knew it we were behind a bush in front of the school.
“Woah! What the hay?!?” I exclaimed as we harshly landed.
“Ow. I'm sorry. I guess my calculations for where we were going to land was a bit off.” He sheepishly replied.
“Oh yeah, well that helps a lot Alto… Holy buck! I forgot about my friends! Where did they go?” I asked out loud, hoping they were safe, since they are also my cousins.
I started to fly, but not without keeping an eye on my coltfriend as well to make sure he wasn't attacked or anything. I knew that he would protect me if it was the other way around. He could probably protect himself with a few spell he learned but I still worry about him nonetheless. We rushed to Aunt Twilight’s ( It's kind of weird to call your aunt Princess right?) house because it was the closest and probably the safest place in Ponyville right now. We got closer and closer to her house until we just ran and burst in to the door. As soon as I knew we were safe I tried to catch my breath, but before I even got the chance I was hugged by my family.
“Lighty, are you okay? Are you hurt?” my parents started to ask, using my childhood nickname.
"Mom, I'm fine. I had Alto with me. I'm always safe when I'm with him." I saw him blush a little when I said this.
"Oh, Sweetie Pie. I don't know what i would do if i lost you." My dad chimed in.
"It's okay, dad. I'm alright. See? Look at me. I am the perfect picture of healthy." I said, smiling.
"Lighty! Are you okay? We heard that you got stuck in school with a bunch of zombies. Is that true?" My little brother and my little sister both asked me.
"Yes, I did get stuck at school with a bunch of zombies, but as you can see I am okay. It's okay. I had my big strong stallion protecting me." I said to them, grinning as I looked over to see Alto's face turn bright red. Then I looked over at the two 8 year olds and saw Glide do a puking motion and Swift Breeze giggling.
"Hey guys. Do you know where Comet Flare is? I want to talk to him since he got back from the Wonderbolts Academy. And besides I just miss my big brother."
"He's right over there, Lighty. Go talk to him if you miss him so much." Glide said.
"Hey Comet! I missed you! Are you okay on what's happening?" I asked him.
"To be honest, I'm not really sure. But I'm glad that you're okay after what just happened."
"Yeah but I'm okay bro. I'll talk to you later I gotta find my friends and make sure they're okay."
"Okay Lighty. See ya."
Phew. They’re alright. I knew they would be fine. We live in the clouds far away from zombies. Although, I did notice none of the Pegasus ponies could not fly at all. Oh my gosh! Where are my frie-
“Lightning! You’re okay! We were so worried because you guys didn’t run out with us!” All of them said simultaneously.
“Well of course I got out, I’m awesome. But I did get help from the best coltfriend in the world.” I said to them while also noticing Alto blush.
“And besides I was really worried about you guys too. I won’t know what I would do without you.” I said as we all came in for a group hug. Normally, I wouldn’t have said that because all that mushy stuff is not my style but I think this was an appropriate time that I could let my soft side take over.
I calmed down and started to look around. Almost everypony I knew was in here. The original Cutie Mark Crusaders and their husbands were sitting in the corner talking to one another, Vinyl Scratch and Octavia in another corner, and I look over to see some of the most important ponies in Equestria.
Princess Celestia and Princess Luna.
As soon as I saw them I knew things were going to get real bad.
