Digital Friends

The Digital World. A very unique place for it is powered by everything on Earth that is digital such as a phone or a video game. The Digital World has many places on it and many climates. But what’s really special about it.. is the beings that inhabit it. The creatures are called Digimon, or Digital Monsters, and some of the creatures were among the strongest beings alive. Among them was the hot headed but noble dinosaur Digimon Agumon, the shy but fierce dragon Digimon Guilmon, the arrogant and athletic dragon Digimon V-Mon, and the one of the most elegant and thoughtful Digimon Dracomon. But the Digimon came in many shapes and sizes like animals or machines. But in this tale, only four Digimon will have their lives changed forever.

It was a very nice, summer’s day in the Digital World. A cool breeze flew through the air, herds of Mammothmon were walking through the plains, and a little village filled to the brim with Digimon was very active. Everywhere in this village you could see tons of Digimon either just sitting around or walking through the markets. But what really was interesting was the four little rookie level Digimon pushing around a large crate of mechanical scrap parts. The four were locals to the village and they were the Digimon Guilmon, V-Mon, Agumon, and Dracomon. The four have been sticking together ever since they hatched from their Digieggs. Anyone could see that this was an inseparable group of friends and allies. At the moment though the team were pushing a huge black box full of mechanical components for their friend and employer Andromon.

“HOW MUCH FURTHER TO ANDROMON’S AGAIN?!” V-Mon shouted to Agumon, who was also having a tough time pushing the box despite being one of the strongest of the group.

“JUST! A! BIT! FURTHER!” He shouted back between his pushes which he used all of his strength for. Agumon was pushing the left side of the box, V-Mon had the right side, and Guilmon and Dracomon were pushing at the back.

“ARE WE ALMOST DONE?! MY HEAD IS STARTING TO HURT!” Guilmon shouted as he pushed the box with his hard head.

“DO NOT WORRY! ANDROMON’S LABORATORY SHOULD BE CLOSE!” Dracomon shouted as he pushed with every ounce of power he had. The four even though were rookie level Digimon, would do any job that a higher level Digimon would be able to do easily. As the four pushed, every Digimon on the streets stared at the four, giving them a weird look.

“WAT’CHA LOOKIN’ AT?! NEVER SEEN HARD WORKIN’ DIGIMON BEFORE?!” V-Mon shouted at the watchers making them return to their regular business. The group continued to press onward and finally made it to the ultimate level Digimon’s cave. Andromon was also waiting for them outside. Andromon even though he was mostly machine, had some organic parts on his body as it was his fleshy foot.

“Welcome my friends. I see you’ve brought the box I asked for-”

“Yeah, yeah, when do we get paid?” V-mon asked making Dracomon actually look shocked.

“V-MON! That is no way to talk to such an old friend!” He shouted to the short blue Digimon as he slapped him in the back of the head.

“OW!” V-Mon yipped as he then quickly rubbed the spot on the back of his head making the cyborg chuckle.

“It is quite alright. I can see he is quite anxious to receive his money. How about you four come inside and have some lunch with me? I’ll get the box.” Andromon said making the four rookies smile.

“We’d love to old friend.” Dracomon said as he was the first to head inside. His three friends quickly followed him and so did Andromon who carried the black box. As the four entered, they saw what could’ve been a machine lover’s paradise. Machine parts laying scattered across the room, wires trailing around the floor, and a large, hulking machine laid in a corner of the room. Dracomon was simply blown away by how complex the machine was and wondered how long it took Andromon to build it. V-Mon just thought it looked awesome. Agumon was blown away by it’s size and Guilmon just thought it looked shiny.

“Um... Andromon, may I ask what that is?” Dracomon asked as he pointed to the machine with his claw. Andromon gasped before he ran over to it and quickly covered it with a large cloth.

“You weren’t supposed to see that! It’s top secret!” Andromon said in a raised voice.

“Aw come on Andromon ol’ pal. We won’t tell anybody. Digimon’s honor.” Agumon said as he raised his claws. It took a minute, but then Andromon asked the four. “Do you four promise not to tell anybody? Not a soul?” The four raised their claws and agreed not to. Andromon sighed before pulling the cloth off of his giant machine.

“Alright. Have any of you ever heard of the Multiverse?” Andromon asked them.

“I believe it was the theory that there were other universes beyond ours.” Dracomon replied as he tapped a claw to his chin.

“I was just gonna say ‘dat!” V-Mon said proudly.

“Well Dracomon said it first so he was right first.” Guilmon said making V-Mon groan and the others laugh.

“Correct Dracomon. Anyway, my machine will allow Digimon to travel to another universe.” Andromon explained making the four’s eyes widened in amazement. The chance to travel to another world wasn’t that far fetched though as tales of creatures called humans supposedly could come to their world and they could enter theirs. Andromon was still talking about how the machine was working but what most of the group failed to see was that one of their number actually started to walk towards a huge shiny big red button. Guilmon then cocked his head to one side and made his hand go forward. Unfortunately Andromon finally noticed this and started to rush forward, shouting, “GUILMON STOP!” But it was in vain as the red digimon pressed the button.

“GUILMON!” His friends yelled as they pulled him away from the machine.

“Guilmon you Diginut! You could’ve been turned into a roasted mon!” V-Mon yelled.

“You could’ve blown apart the village!” Agumon yelled.

“Guilmon you could’ve-” Dracomon started to shout. But then they heard a sound. The sound of a humming machine. The three turned to see the machine was starting to light up.

“Ooh. Pretty.” Guilmon said with a smile. But then in a quick second, the room was taken in a flash of bright light. Andromon quickly covered his eyes but as the light dimmed, he noticed that his friends were gone. He wondered where they were, but then he noticed four scorch marks on the floor.

“I-It works.”

The summer night was a time for everypony on Equestria to be sleeping, except of course for Princess Luna as she watched over the dreams of them. But tonight she also sensed a very…. disturbed dreamer and this one lived in the castle. Determined to help them she used her magic and soon teleported into the dream-realm and soon saw a door but what stunned her was the door was not only covered by what appeared to be thick vines but it also had the mark of her sister Celestia. This made Luna even more nervous as she burned away the vines with her magic and pushed open the door. As she walked into the dreamer’s mind, she felt something wet at her hooves. Looking down, she saw a black, slimy liquid that made her shiver. But she ignored it and continued to walk through the slime. She then heard something. She heard voices.

Celessssstia! You will never beat usssssss! A raspy voice hissed angrily.

Your world will burn in the wake of my wrath. All that shall remain will be ashes and nothing will be left of your elements but mere cinders. A deep and creaky voice spoke. To empathize what it meant the a flash appeared and the Elements of Harmony were shown and then crushed by an invisible force.

“I will not… let you take me!” A pained voice familiar to her shouted back. It was the voice of her sister. Luna galloped to where the voices were coming from and she gasped at what she saw. She saw her sister, bruised and battered and two titans standing above her. One of them was a gigantic, skeletal Dragon with fleshy bits in his lungs. It also had soulless, glowing eyes. The other being was a gigantic Dragon with the lower half of a serpent. It had red wings and was mostly covered in massive spikes. It had a massive mouth with large teeth that flowed with poisonous saliva. In the being’s massive claws were also a large sword and a brutish axe. Its eyes were glowing a bloody red. Luna then flew over to her sister and turned her around and nearly cried at the sight. Her sister’s face, often shown to be proud and full of power, was nothing more than a burned piece of flesh that was barely trying to hold on. The rest of her body was not any better and her eyes were even singed. “L-Lulu? Is that y-you?” Her broken sister asked Luna who started to shed tears making the titans laugh. Quickly, Luna used her magic and then quickly, she was in the room of her now awakened sister.

“Celestia, who were those titans?” Luna asked in a concerned voice.

“I-I do not know. But they have been tormenting me for weeks now. They were threatening me at first. But then-” She started. But before she continued her sentence, a loud thumping was heard from the castle wall.

“What was that?” Luna asked.

“I don’t know. But I think we should find out.” Celestia stated as she flapped open her wings. Luna nodded and did the same and soon the two sisters flew over towards the sound’s origin. What they found both stunned and confused them. On one of the sides of the castle walls were four strange creatures that appeared to be stuck.

“You just haaaad to touch the button Guilmon? Couldn’t just leave it alone!” The blue one shouted.

“Well it was shiny. I couldn’t help myself.” The red one said in a sad voice.

“How about we don’t fight and find a way down?!” The yellow one asked angrily.

“I agree.” The turquoise one said as he tried to pull himself from the wall. The creatures were soon freed before they looked down and soon started to fall towards the ground.

“I WISH I HAD A PARACHUTE!” The blue one shouted as he waved his limbs violently. The four were soon about to hit the ground until Celestia and Luna used their magic to prevent them from hitting the ground completely.

“What the-” The yellow one said as he observed the aura surrounding him. Celestia and Luna then flew down to the four creatures. “Um… hi?” It said trying to be friendly but it was hard for Celestia and Luna to think that when it smiled and showed off its teeth which were sharp like a predator’s.

“Hello? Um… who are you four and why did you crash into the castle?” Luna asked them.

“Easy. I’m V-Mon. Dis is Agumon, Dracomon, and Guilmon’s de’ reason we’re here.” The blue one said angrily making the red being pout.

“I am sure that ‘Guil-mon’ did not mean to do any wrong.” Celestia said as she made the red being cheer up a little.

“Thank you. I never wanted to do this but the button was just so shiny.” Guilmon replied. The princess of the sun just cocked her head to the side and was about to ask when Agumon sneezed and blew out some fire. The fire singed one of Celestia’s favorite bushes and caused her eye to twitch slightly.

“Oops. Sorry.” Agumon apologized.

“It’s… fine. Anyway, where did you come from and what kind of Dragon are you?” She asked making the beings give her a weird look.

“Dragon? No. We’re Digimon.” Dracomon said making the sisters give them a weird look.

“What is a… Digimon?” Luna asked them. She then poked Dracomon to truly ensure she wasn’t seeing things.

“My dear madam Digimon is actually short for Digital Monsters, we are mere rookie level Digimon but one day we will become more than that….. I hope so anyways.” He quickly added.

“Well then, it is nice to meet you four? My name is Celestia and this is my sister Luna.” She introduced.

“So I’m guessin’ you’re not Digimon.” V-Mon said making the two sisters chuckle.

“No. But what are you doing out here in the middle of the night?” Luna asked.

“It was daytime a few minutes ago. I think we should-” Agumon started before he started to release a large yawn.

“Do you need a place to stay for the night?” Celestia asked.

“We’d be most grateful.” Dracomon replied with a smile. Celestia smiled as she said to them “Then you’re welcome to stay at the castle until we can get you home.” Celestia said. The four smiled and then followed the two into the castle in which they crashed into. But all they know is… things aren’t gonna be the same.
