//-------------------------------------------------------// Magic and Mutants -by Dredgen- //-------------------------------------------------------// //-------------------------------------------------------// A New Day part 1 //-------------------------------------------------------// A New Day part 1 Chapter 1 There was nothing going on at this time of day. Usually just the time of hour when the residents of the town hid in their homes, hoping the mutants outside the walls wouldn't break in. The only time people came outside was during the day, when the mutants were rendered blind by the rays of the sun. After a couple of hours, the sun came up slowly and the people hurried out of their houses to the Market, to get new supplies for the next night. But only one person had not rushed to go the bazaar in the center of town, a man named Albert Karr. He was the town's resource gatherer, a very easy job to get but a very easy one to lose, along with your life. Fortunately, since it was in the morning, he had plenty of time to get out of the cities gates. He very quickly put on his armored hazmat suit, and headed out on the road. It had been a very worn out road. But that didn't matter. He just needed to get supplies. As he walked, he noticed many regular things, giant twisted cactus that had adapted the grow in more normal, but still irradiated soil, a couple of traders wandering, looking always for business, and a giant rat eating a cat. What? Even though these are weird anyway this one is too illogical? Nothing is too illogical. Feeling hungry after a couple minutes of roaming, he pulled out a .44 revolver strapped to his thigh, shot some animals to death, and started eating them raw. They always said fresh food is good for you, so he obliged to that one rule. But even so, he kept walking, noticing a couple places he had already looted for valuables, and kept on going. There was no point of going back for loot  in there, he had already known what it was and deemed it useless. It had been a few hours of trekking, before he found some sort of bunker, with the door split wide open for all the wasteland to see. Seeing how that could be a very very good chance for loot, he carefully walked into the bunker, before noticing it had been a trap. He had just stepped on a tripwire, releasing some giant rocks on the entrance, so he couldn't leave. ''Damnit..'' He thought. ''Those sentient mutants must have done this...'' As long as you have lived in this horrible land, you would've known that the mutants in the world that were still sentient were either driven to bloodlust, or went into hiding. Usually bloodlust. Al quickly pulled out his .44 Revolver and examined it. It had been a very powerful handgun during the days before the meltdown, but against the mutants? Not very good. Most mutants packed heavy military weapons they stole along with bulletproof armor. Before long, a voice box on the side of the wall made a short bit of static like noise before a rough, raspy voice came onto the microphone. ''We know you are here, human!'' The voice croaked. ''Prepare to be ripped.. No.. Okay, thanks clyde.'' ''Exterminated you pest!'' It ended. Albert only responded with one line. ''It's time to kick ass and chew bubblegum, bad thing is I can't kick ass so i'll wait for you guys.'' Albert said, sounding very heroic. The voice on the Microphone came back on. ''Then we shall bring our weakest weapons, and still beat you!'' Laughed the Mutant. If you have lived in this horrible land long enough, you should know that when mutants say they're going to take their weakest weapons, they mean BB guns. Very underpowered BB guns. You should also know mutants have a bad sense of logic. After a couple minutes of waiting, several mutants burst through the steel door on the other side of the room, carrying BB rifles in their horribly disfigured hands. Albert deftly pulled out his revolver, and popped a couple rounds into one of the mutants unprotected legs, crippling it quickly and making it scream out in pain. Albert then ducked into cover behind a crate. He knew the BB guns wouldn't do too much damage to him overall, but if they hit one of the oxygen tubes on his suit, he could be exposed to lethal amounts of radiation. The mutants had by then rushed up to his makeshift barricade and had switched to using their switchblades they had pulled out. One did a savage dive at Al, giving him only seconds to react before the blade cut him open. He then pulled off a shot, firing straight into the deranged mutants cranium, releasing chunks of blood and brain matter all over the place. A smaller mutant then snuck up on him, knocking him out with a baseball bat, (which unfortunately hurt alot, for it took the tiny one several swings) and slowly dragged him down the hall into the bigger chambers of the area, which was sadly a disco dance floor, which Albert loved, but couldn't see because he was unconsious, and was dragged through another door. Albert woke up with a sharp pain in the back of his head. He was in a unknown part of the bunker, who knows how far away from the entrance. He then noticed he was strapped down on a table in what appeared to be some sort of kitchen. Suddenly, a door creaked open and a mutant walked in, holding a giant pair of crude scissors, appearing to be completely naked except for the apron he was wearing around his waist and a surgeon's mask. ''Hello, you're one of those little shit human guys huh?'' The mutant said mockingly. ''How about you and me, a little martini lunch?'' He then pulled a random camera out of no where and starting recording, and set it down on the counter behind him. The mutant then took it's large scissors and started cutting off Albert fingers. White hot pain went down Al's arm and suddenly he woke up. It had been a dream. A dream about some freaky game he had played on a holo-computer when he was younger. Albert then looked around and noticed he was strapped down on a table in a completely different room. Several guards were posted around him wielding what appeared to be large, elephant guns. Why? The world may never know. In front of him was a very large mutant, who appeared to be quite intimidating, as he had more nightmarish mutations that the others. The mutant then started to talk to him. Al immediately noticed it was the same mutant on the intercom earlier. But now, since he was up and close with the mutant, his voice sounded more normal. If you could call it normal. ''Human!'' ''We have decided to keep you alive for one of our experiments!'' The mutant yelled. It had now been obvious how broken the intercom from before was. The mutant seemed to always shout. The smaller mutant that knocked Alberto out earlier had now scurried over to the two of them, and started to explain what this ''experiment'' was that the larger one had in stock. ''Well, it seems that we have found several types of gems in a lower part of the caves we discovered.'' The dwarf mutant explained, with a very high pitched nerd-like voice. ''All of them seem to fit in a certain slot in the wall, probably used to open the gate behind them.'' ''All of our attempts to do it have failed, so our theory is that it can open only when a human does it.'' The scientist mutant continued. Albert replied with a quick ''Seems legit.'' One of the guards then unstrapped Al from the table, and led him down a stone tunnels that appeared to be in the wall, into a little obsidian chamber, each with different gems on several pedestals. Each one appeared to be in a different shade. In his mind, he decided to call them the Elements of Harmony, he didn't know why or where he got the name from but he decided to call them that. Albert then noticed the guards had not taken his firearm, in fact noticed he still had his gun with him, and thought he could either kill the damned guard and escape, or follow through with their plans. Liking to uncover secrets, Albert continued and carefully placed each gem in it's slot. Suddenly, the gates flung open and a harsh bright light blasted out, curing those in the wide radius of all impurities, including the mutants, who died afterward since their body was not used to it's previous form. But, Albert's radiation suit helmet was cracked open, meaning he would die soon of radiation.. Albert closed his eyes and waited for the highly lethal radiation to kick in, and turn him into some sort of mutant, before finding out that he could now live in the radiation. After getting to his feet, he noticed some figures walking out of the gates, so he hid behind a pedestal. Soon enough, 6 equine forms found their way into the purplish black room. ''Twilight, where in tarnation is this place?'' called out one of the figures. ''I don't know Applejack, this isn't where that spell was supposed to take us at all!'' called out one of the figures, with Al assuming that one was Twilight. Karr took a peek around one of the pedestals, and one of them spotted him. ''Hey you!'' It called. ''Get out of there!'' Albert Daniel Karr, being frightened of 4 legged creatures since he was a child (Don't judge him) took a while before he slowly walked out towards them. There were several of these horse creatures, but a lavender one stepped toward him curiously, and asked him a question. ''Okay, Hello there.. I am Princess Twilight Sparkle of Equestria and we were just wondering where we were?'' Questioned the horse, before Albert fell over and fainted, shocked that one of them had spoken to him. ''Was it something i said?''
