Truth Behind Harmony: The Monster In Me
Nyx stood delicately still, standing before the line which separated the dark half of the moon from its lighter half. Her mother had commanded her to come here, telling her that what she needed lied within the dark side of the moon, but now that she was standing at the threshold she hesitated.
She could feel something alive waiting within the darkness, something old and alien…and something that hungered for her. But she knew if she returned empty hoofed, her mother would end up disappointed with her, and she didn’t want to disappoint her mother, so it was with tentative steps that she entered into the blackness, leaving the world of the light behind.
She walked for many hours, watching as many a creature stalked around her, none daring approach as she felt the presence’s eyes upon her form, feeling a chill as she felt the darkness ripple with excitement.
Finally she reached the very center of the darkness, seeing a great cave looming before her which led into total darkness, so black even her vision could not penetrate it. She hesitated for a long moment outside the cave, but just as she was about to turn and flee, a cold and haunting voice rang out from the cave, sounding as though it was thousands of ponies speaking at the same time.
"COME HITHER CHILD, BE NOT AFRAID OF ME"
Nyx shivered visibly, but she knew she had no choice but to follow…whatever had just called out to her, so it was with a wary heart that she began her trek into the cave.
She didn’t know how long she traveled, time seeming to have no meaning as she took step after step, finally giving up on trying to keep it and simply moving one hoof in front of the other.
However she soon stopped as one of her hooves touched what felt like water, Nyx pulling said hoof back as she lit up her horn, gazing upon what looked like a large black lake.
"ENTER," said the haunting voice, causing Nyx to look around for its source.
“Who are you,” Nyx called out, even though she feared the answer.
"WE WILL BE THE ONE TO ASK THEE QUESTIONS, NOW ENTER!"
Nyx visibly shook due to the power of the voice, and then squealed in fear when she a black tendril made its way out of the water, caressing her face in what she could only assume was meant to calm her.
"WE ARE SORRY WE SCARE THEE, BUT YOU MUST ENTER IF WE WISH TO COMUNICATE PROPERLY...SO PLEASE, COME TO ME."
Nyx shivered but complied with what it asked, walking into the dark water and making her way into the center of the lake; noting with some surprise that the water just barely covered her hooves.
However the moment she reached the center she began to feel dizzy, her mind beginning to fog up as her body started to drift, her sleepy mind not noticing as the black water began to creep up her legs. She tried to shake off the tired feeling, but soon gave in, falling to the ground as the darkness took her.
Nyx awoke moments later in a lush bedroom, finding herself wrapped in the embrace of a giant alicorn stallion, who was gazing down at her with dead looking eyes as he opened his mouth to speak.
“Be not afraid child, you are safe now, there is nothing to fear.”
The stallion’s voice was calm and soothing, so unlike what Nyx had been assaulted with earlier, which caused her great confusion. “You…your voice…how…?”
The stallion chuckled, “we know you must be confused, so let us explain. We are the one known as Artemis, leader and all father of the Nightmare Legion. Due to this, I speak not only with my voice, but with the voices of all my children.”
“So…so when you spoke to me earlier…I…I heard…”
“Yes my dear, you heard the voices of the legion through me.”
Artemis then placed a comforting wing on Nyx, smiling down at her once more before speaking again. “Now if it would not be to troubling child, we would like to know thine name, as well as the reason you have entered our domain.”
“I…I am Nyx Chaotica, daughter of Discordia Chaotica, and I…I came her seeking the powers of the dark moon…powers mother said we require.”
Artemis chuckled, his dead eyes looking over her as he licked his lips. “So, you wish to make covenant with us, I must say I am surprised…and greatly flattered.”
Nyx looked up at him with shock, “wha…what do you mean by that…?”
The giant stallion chuckled; running his right forehoof along Nyx’s back, causing her to twitch as he let his dead eyes wander along her form. “You entered my realm, looking for the source of its power, which you have found. If you want that power, the power of the dark moon…and the light eating stars, you must make covenant with me, in this haven of your mind.”
Nyx just stared into his dead eyes, fear entering her body as his words sunk in. “This can’t be right,” she thought, “mother would not do this to me, mother would not send me to get taken by this…this creature…she couldn’t…”
But she knew for a fact that her mother could do such things, her mother was not a creature of moral integrity, especially when it came to furthering her goals to save her sister Harmonia. Tears entered her eyes then, disbelief and absolute rage making her want to scream, till she felt a hoof under her chin, her face being brought up to look into those dead eyes which looked saddened by her pain.
“No more tears little moon,” said the giant alicorn, “we know this is probably not what you want, but it cannot be helped, for you will not be able to leave this place unless you make this covenant with me, but for what it is worth…I am sorry.”
He then leaned down his head, pressing his muzzle against her own, the magic laced kiss causing her night blue fur to become absolutely black, her main and tail turning into purple fields filled with stars as her tear filled eyes became nothing more than teal dragon like slits, her sclera becoming a lighter shade of teal as Artemis finished the kiss..
He shifted his weight, his immense form making it easy for him to roll Nyx onto her back, Artemis’s head beginning to trail its way down her small form as he nipped and along her body, causing her to squeak and moan in protest, though she knew he wouldn’t stop.
As he continued, Nyx allowed herself to look over the larger alicorns imposing form, for she figured if she would have to…mate with this creature, she might as well commit his form to memory. His body and wings were completely black, but at the same time it was see through, the alicorns skeleton visible through his shiny coat. His mane and tail were both masses of writhing tendrils, its colors changing from sickly black to bone white.
She was drawn away from her looking as she felt the creatures tongue drag along her thigh, shivering as she felt him drag it close to her treasure, before outright screaming as he dug his tongue into her sex, feeling her body writhe in pleasure as the impossibly long organ reached deep within her depths.
He didn’t stay there for long sadly, only letting his tongue squirm within her depths for a few moments before sliding it out, using his forelegs to roll her back onto her stomach as he moved over her.
Nyx looked back, and immediately regretting doing so, for what she saw made her wish she had never entered this place. “No…no I can’t take that, it’s too big!”
She made to get up and run, but it was then that Artemis showed his first signs of aggression, placing one hoof upon Nyx’s back and pinning her to the ground. “We thought you understood your position here young Nyx,” he said, bending down so that he could whisper into her ear. “It is far too late to leave here my little moon, and unless you let this happen, you will be consumed by my children. So if you know what’s good for you you will submit, and I promise it will be over soon.”
She did not struggle after that, simply letting herself go limp as she felt him slowly begin to insert himself into her, gritting her teeth as she felt him spread her wide.
It took a while for him to finally hilt himself inside the smaller mare, a very evident bulge appearing in her belly as he let himself relax, smiling as he bent down to kiss away her tears. “Be not sad my little moon, this is a happy time, for with this we become one, which makes me yours for all eternity. So please, enjoy this moment, I know I will.”
He then began to move, slowly at first, but picking up spread as Nyx whimpered below him, the pain from his thrusts causing her to scream as he kept up his ferocious pace.
She didn’t know how long he kept at it, but after what seemed like forever he finally pulled out of her, his dark seed dripping from her darkened lips as he bent down and kissed her face. “With this we are one, and with this exchange made I grant thee our power, use it well…little moon.”
He then got up from atop her, and the last thing she glimpsed before everything faded was him looking down into her eyes, his cold dead eyes never leaving her as the world went black, and then she knew no more.
Nyx woke up cold and alone, the black lake no longer surrounding her and the darkness no longer as oppressive as it had once been. She slowly stood, looking over herself and finding that her coat had not only changed in her mind, but it had changed in the real world as well.
However that was not what concerned her at the moment, what concerned her now was the thing that had appeared upon her rump…her cutie mark…
She should have been overjoyed by this, for with most ponies a cutie mark signified a discovering of their special talent, their potential made manifest in whatever craft they so chose. But for her it was not something she wanted to be happy about, because for her it signified only two things, that of a betrayal by her mother…and of an inescapable link with the monster whom she now shared power with.
And so it was that on that night, as the dark face of the moon gazed down upon the world it circled, she threw back her head and screamed, her grief filled cry reaching all and causing them to shiver as fear and darkness touched there souls…
…and all the while her mother watched, a smile stretched upon her face, a smile brought on by another one of her pieces falling into place, just as she had planned.
