Chapter One - Realization
A Touch Of Elegance
Rainbow Dash was flying around her cloud home up in the cloud city of Cloudsdale, and she flopped down on a plump cloud, and stared up at the elegant blue sky covering her, and she closed her eyes and smiled. Today was a perfect day, especially to be a pegasus. She thought about all the things she was glad that she had, her friends, a nice home, and a day off to enjoy. She sighed in happiness, she was soon hopefully going to be accepted into the Wonderbolts, she had almost finally achieved her lifelong dream, to join the most elite flying group in all of Equestria. As she lay thinking about life, she began to think… The only thing that could POSSIBLY make it better was… somepony to share it with. Her first thought was quite obvious, a choice like Soarin’ would’ve been perfect, but she realized that he just wouldn’t be the right one. She thought more about who she could TRULY be happy with, in a spend the rest of my years with you type of way, when it finally hit her, the least obvious, and a pony that would have been never guessed in a thousand years, the least obvious that anypony would have EVER thought… Rarity. She thought, wait, how was THIS possible?!? But the more she thought about it… The more it truly made sense. Rarity was graceful, elegant, smart, nice, and generous… more then that, she was beautiful. Rainbow never would have expected this, yet, here it was, almost as if it was a slap in her cyan blue muzzle. She would have to think long and hard about this… So she figured, she’d go to her hardest thinking friend, to admit this revelation and, now, secret, and to maybe figure out a way to make this whole fiasco work, and end in the most PERFECT way she could imagine, with everypony being happy, and everything being absolutely perfect for the first time she could remember. She let out a small smile, before spreading her powerful wings and taking off towards Twilgiht’s treehouse, to try and get some good advice from one of her closest friends, and how she would handle this. She flew at a fast moderate pace towards the library, not in a rush, yet anxious to find out how to make this how she imagined, and, she hoped, how Rarity imagined. She also started to wonder, how would all of her friends react, if she and Rarity did end up getting together, surely it wouldn’t be the weirdest thing, yet she thought they at least would be slightly shocked, if they weren’t she would start to become worried, and she figured she would leave the worrying about their opinion later, right now was a time for answers, and answers was exactly what Rainbow Dash set out to find, she was not one to just leave it be for a later time, she was determined, and if she was determined, there was little in the world that would stop this mare from completing her quest to find the answer. She was on the approach to the treehouse now, and she smiled with glee, and, surprising even her, a bit of worry.
