Chapters It had been about a day since the object fell, since then a crowd had gathered outside the object with Twilight,Rarity,Applejack,Rainbow Dash, Pinkie Pie and Fluttershy. Keeping everypony back from getting too close. In this Time the Objects lid had begun unscrewing. Fritz had just arrived and was trying to find out what was going on. Some ponies said that it was the changelings trying to invade again, others said it had come from space and that ponies were inside of it. Friz had managed to get close to the front of the crowd enough to see what it was.
The lid was still unscrewing many ponies had gotten bored and were starting to find ways to amuse themselves. Some fillies had started throwing rock at it only to be stops and scolded by Twilight. Other ponies had set up picnic areas and treated this as a chance to get some sun and relax as they waited. Some of the more athletic ponies had started playing hoofball.
Fritz was to anxious to relax he wanted to know what this was and what is was doing crashed in an apple orchard. After a few hours of waiting the lid had finally unscrewed entirely. All the ponies had regathered and were watching eagerly. Some had even made a large white flag and were waving it about to show that they meant no harm.
Something was coming out of the hole. The ponies watched in horror at the sight before them. It was a large mass of tentacles resembling something like an octopus. It made weird noises as many of the ponies fled into the trees including Fritz. The creature went back into the cylinder. A large mirror like object appeared out of the hole. It began revolving and shining very brightly. The group of ponies who had been brave enough to stay near the pit including the ones with the white flag. Began to feel hot the burning then were completely ablaze the ponies midst the trees watched in horror as their fur burned away then the skin, leaving masses of bloody skeletons with only a few of their own guts left untouched by the flames. All the ponies around began to run back to ponyville. Fritz unfortunately was struck by a large pony fleeing in terror.
Fritz woke up among the apple trees and found that there was something going on in the pit. He looked over at it and saw the martians hard at work building something. Fritz didn't want to find out what they were building he immediately ran back towards town.
On his way he passed the Equestrian army setting up artillery and barricades around the town. He found the commanding officer and asked. "What news?" the officer stared him down and then replied "Setting up defenses and just what in Celestia are you doing on this side of the defenses.".
"I just came from the pit, it was terrible they killed so many!" Fritz said panting
"Really is there anything you can tell us about them that may help?"
"They are large ghastly beasts,more like octopuses than ponies."
"really octopuses?'
"Yes and them have this terrible weapon that incinerates all that it come in contact with. It travels trough the air and emits heat hot enough to incinerate ponies! its like a...um... Heat Ray!"
"Thank you for the information go back to your home and gather your supplies and evacuate, leave the martians to us." Fritz had no intention of sticking around he did what the Officer said and went back to Ponyville. When Fritz arrived the town was in panic. There everypony was trying to get out of the town. Fritz wen into his house and was startles when just as soon as he opened the door there was the sound of distant artillery. Fritz ignored it and began to collect things he would take with him. He grabbed some bits and some rations. He then wen't upstairs to collect some more things and then left the house. He look over the hill were the orchard is, flashes of light erupted from over the hill. He ran in the opposite direction when large bursts flew over the hill. They were Light Green, they strucik building turning them to rubble in seconds. Fritz ran as fast he could through the crowds of panicking ponies.
Fritz couldn't help but look over his shoulder, and what he say he couldn't believe. There stood a giant three legged machine, it fired into the crowds with its heat ray. Fritz managed to get into an alley which he used to escape to the edge of town. He looked around for the best way to escape. But when he turned around he saw one of the tripods right there. It prepared to fire but was interrupted by a large blast at its side and it. Back up and turned its attention to another artillery position. Fritz used this to escape ponyville.
He made his way through the maze like passageways that separated houses from each other. His ears were at their busiest taking in all the sounds around him, screams of pain and agony, the artillery wizzing by then exploding, and of course the tripods as they stormed through the town killing everything in sight. Fritz tried to ignore it.
Fritz continued through the maze of alleyways until he hit a dead end. "Verdammt!" he exclaimed hastily looking for a way to escape. He looked all around before deciding to break into a nearby house. He kicked the door down with all his might and then run in. To his surprise that door was connected to the only part of the wall still standing, the rest was a mixture of charred bodies and rubble. Fritz looked around finding that the rubble was what was left of Sugar Cube Corner. "P-please h-help me..." came a voice from midst the rubble. He looked around once more before finding the source of the cries for help. It was Pinkie she was pinned under a large wooden beam.
Fritz rushed over and tried to lift the beam. It would only budge slightly, he looked down at Pinkie who was now crying. He reassured her and continued trying to lift the beam without any luck. Fritz got an idea he lifted the beam up slightly and then placeda large brick under it. He looked down at Pinkie, he grabbed her by the hooves and pulled her out from under it. She was unconcious, as Fritz was about to sit and rest for a moment he heard the sound of an approaching tripod. Fritz panicked looking for a way out. He spied a cellar door and rushed over to it with Pinkie over his back. an ran into the cellar just before the tripod got within eyesight
Equestria, a country that has been at peace with its neighbors for hundred of years. The ponies living there have prospered and lived their lives happily and with ease. Something is coming, something that will bring Equestria to its knees.
This story is about the experience of a pony named Fritz. Fritz isn't a pony from Equestria rather he is from one of its neighbors Germaney. He was once a member of its military but due to an injury he received wile serving in he Light Cavalry he was discharged and given an Iron Cross. Fritz decided to leave his warlike nation for the peaceful nation of Equestria. He bought a house and settled down in the village of Ponyville. He had become good friends with many of the ponies that lived there. One of them was a pony named Twilight Sparkle. They had begun to spend time together she told him about the stars and what lies between their planet and he in return told her of his military experience. One day he was sitting with Twilight examining the stars though her telescope.
"And that was just another tale of military might..." said Fritz boasting
"Are you sure you really killed over 300 changelings all by yourself?" replied Twilight in a skeptic tone
"Well its may have been...exaggerated by about 250"
"that's what I thought"
"Whatever... Hey look at that red planet something is happening on it." said Fritz looking through the telescope
"That planet is called mars..." said Twilight pushing him aside looking for herself "Oh My Celestia! your right, ther are explosions happening all over!"
"What does it mean?" asked Fritz alarmed
"I don' know ill have to keep examining it for more information."
Fritz had went home as Twilight had no interest in talking instead she was examining the damn planet still. Fritz had eating breakfast and attempted to go to sleep but couldn't the thought of that planet had been stuck in his mind after all of the explosions he witnessed. Were there ponies on that Red mass of rock floating through space? He pondered this idea much and decided to stop his fruitless attempt at sleep and go to his study to see if he could find anything about the event in his books.
Fritz looked through his books over and over but couldn't find anything about the event. He had wasted several hours on this. He leaned back in his chair and sighed. He fell asleep in his chair.
He was awoken abruptly by a loud sound, his house began to shake. He looked out his window as a large green object flew through the sky over the town. He stared at it in awe. The object crashed into Applejack's orchard with a large explosion. "Mein Gott!" Fritz exclaimed and ran to get his coat, he threw it on and ran out the door to find the object.
Applejack and her brother were the first to find the object in a it in the middle of their orchard. It was a large black object obviosly no meteor. It was about the size of a large house or so. It also had a circular top attacked to it.
"Do you have any idea what it could be Mac?" said applejack in disbelief
"Nope" replied Big Mac as they stared at the object they began to hear noises coming from inside. It appeared to be hollow.
"Dear Celestia! There's ponies inside!" exclaimed Applejack moving down into the pit followed by big mac. "We outta try and signal them and try and tell them we'll get help. she picked up and stuck and started to bang on the object "Hello! Hello!" she cried. Her bangs were followed by several bangs from inside. "Were sending for help just hold on!" Applejack said running past big mac towards town.
