It was a bright and sunny day. Birds were chirping, the sun glistening, and everypony was happy. Applebloom and Pinkie Pie were playing a board game called "Pony around the Park". They both seemed to enjoy it. All of a sudden, a yellow pony was walking in the park, tending to her animal friends.
"Hey, Fluttershy!" shouted Pinkie Pie. "Do you want to play a game of Pony around the Park?"
Fluttershy had paused to think for a second. She responded, "I'm not very good at the game, but I guess I have time for a quick little game." She directed her head towards her pet bunny, Angel. "Are you okay with that?" she asked.
Angel had silently nodded his head. He sat on the grass, and started nibbling on a carrot Fluttershy had left for him."
The three ponies played the game for about 30 minutes, and Applebloom had ended up winning the game.
"I knew I would win! Maybe I could get my cutie mark in playing board games!" Applebloom had announced rather loudly.
"Oh, silly Applebloom. Do you want to go to the ice cream shop? I could get you a scoop or two." Pinkie Pie had asked Applebloom.
Applebloom responded by shouting loudly, "WITH SPRINKLES!?"
"Loads of sprinkles! Enough to last us until the sugar police come, and whack us with their candy canes!" Pinkie Pie had told, in a very excited manner.
Applebloom and Pinkie Pie ran away, and Fluttershy had looked confused. Immediately after, she smiled and said to herself, "Oh, Pinkie." She looked towards a clock, which showed the time of 3:00 P.M. Fluttershy had started to get nervous, and says "I'm late, I'm late!"
She started running as fast as she could, with her animals desperately trying to keep up. Fluttershy was running so fast, she accidentally ran into a light blue pony with a green and pink mane. She tilted her head to the ground, letting some of her mane cover one of her eyes. Fluttershy had done the same.
Fluttershy had picked her head up, and exclaimed with sorrow, "I'm so sorry. I was careless, and I didn't see you walking by. I just had to get to my friend's house as quickly as possi-." She stopped to see the blue pony whimpering.
Fluttershy had looked up to see a multicolored pony called Rainbow Dash flying overhead. She had stopped and started to engage in a conversation with Fluttershy, while still in the air.
"Hey, Fluttershy! Who's your little friend?" Rainbow Dash had asked. She followed by exclaiming, "I'm going to Pinkie Pie's 1000th cupcake party. Are you two coming?"
The blue pony had started to cry, and ran away while sobbing loudly.
A confused look had appeared on Rainbow Dash's face and she asked Fluttershy, "Did I forget to shower again?" Fluttershy had ran off to follow the sobbing mare. Rainbow Dash had sniffed her armpit, and then shrugged. She flew off.
Meanwhile, Fluttershy was chasing after the mare, so she could attempt to make her feel better. She had finally caught up, and stopped the pony in her tracks.
Fluttershy had then asked, in a calm and peaceful voice. "Why are you crying?"
The blue mare had continued to cry. Fluttershy didn't know what to do. She didn't know much about making a full-grown mare happy again. However, she did know a pony who could make anypony smile. Her name was Pinkie Pie. Fluttershy had remembered that she had received an invitation, and it said that she could bring a guest. She was going to bring the sobbing pony. First, she had to calm her down.
"Listen, um..." Fluttershy had started thinking. She realized the pony had never introduced herself.
Still weeping, the pony replied in a shaky and calm voice, "Sh-Sh-Shivershine"
"Listen, Shivershine, I know a pony who could make anypony feel better. Her name's Pinkie Pie, and she's throwing a party. Do you want to go?" Fluttershy had requested.
Her tears were starting to slacken. She nodded quietly, and started walking towards Sugar Cube Corner with Fluttershy.
They had arrived, and immediately, Shivershine's frown started to disappear.
Pinkie Pie had approached the door, and introduced herself to Shivershine. With a gigantic smile, she delightfully said, "Hi, Fluttershy! Is this your friend? It's nice to meet you! We're celebrating my thousandth cupcake!"
Shivershine had to chuckle. "That's a bit of a silly reason to throw a party, isn't it?"
The music had stopped. Everypony was frozen in their tracks, and staring towards the front. It seemed as if everypony in the world was staring coldly at her, as if she had destroyed Equestria. Shivershine was a victim to their cold eyes. She couldn't help but whimper.
Pinkie Pie was staring at her, wondering what was going on. Fluttershy knew she had to do something. So she stood in front of Shivershine and said, "Um, hi, Pinkie Pie. This is Shivershine. She's a bit, um, new to Ponyville. I don't think she realizes how special it is."
An angry face had crept onto the optimistic mare's face. It looked as if she could kill off a forest with just her face. She said, "You brought somepony who's new to Ponyville!?"
Shivershine was starting to cry, and Fluttershy was on the verge of tears. Pinkie's anger made them feel like they had committed the worst crime imaginable to ponykind.
All of a sudden, Pinkie's face returned to normal, while she said, "Without informing me earlier?" Oh, thank Celestia that was over.
"Um, well, I just met her about 30 minutes ago. I think she's new to Ponyville. After the party, maybe we can show her around." Fluttershy exclaimed.
Pinkie Pie replied, "Why didn't you just say so!? Come on! Enjoy the party! Rarity's playing "Pin the Tail on the Pony!"
Rarity said, with a bit of confusion, "Am I anywhere near the pony?" Rarity had felt something, and stuck the tail on it. She took off her blindfold, and saw that she had pinned the tail on Pinkie Pie.
Pinkie Pie stared laughing. "Oh, Rarity! You're such a riot!"
After the party was over, Fluttershy had caught up with Twilight.
"Hey, Twilight! I'm sorry for not making the appointment earlier! I was a bit busy with Shivershine!" Fluttershy had told Twilight.
Twilight replied, "It's okay, Fluttershy. Spike had helped me with my experiment. But you really should notify me from now on."
Fluttershy smiled and said, "Okay, then. Now, I have to show Shivershine around town."
Fluttershy had left with Shivershine to show the mare how Ponyville was like. Applejack had walked up to Twilight, and said, "You know, Shivershine's really nice. I hope I can spend more time with her in the future."
The next day, Fluttershy had promised to help Rainbow Dash by watching her do some of her new flying techniques at 12:00 on the dot. However, when it was time for Fluttershy to be there, she doesn't arrive. "Oh, great. Where is she?" Rainbow said. "I should go off to find her. Maybe she's still asleep."
Alas, when Rainbow arrived at Fluttershy's cottage, she was not there. She starts looking all around town for Fluttershy, when she decides to have another pony watch her. However, on her way to Sugar Cube Corner, she passed a crying Applebloom. Rainbow stopped in mid-air, and landed in front of Applebloom.
"Hey, kid, what's wrong?" Rainbow asked in a supportive tone.
Applebloom responded, "She didn't show up! Where is she?" She continued weeping.
"Where is who?" Rainbow asked the forlorn Applebloom. She responded in a voice so quiet that Rainbow could barely hear her. She whispered, "Fluttershy."
"Alright. Something fishy is going on around here." Rainbow exclaimed. She looked behind her to see a pony-sized fish. Rainbow assumed it was Pinkie because this seems like one of her random antics.
"Pinkie Pie?" Rainbow asked. "Are you there?"
The fish responded in a deep voice, "Pinkie, who's that? I'm Dr. Milk Carton!" Applebloom had to laugh.
Pinkie revealed herself from the fish costume. "Did that make you feel a bit better, Applebloom?" Pinkie asked. Applebloom responded with a loud and powerful, "Yes!" She paused for a second, and had that miserable face again. "But where's Fluttershy?"
"I don't know. But we're going to look for her!" Rainbow bellowed.
All of a sudden, they heard a giggle in the bushes. It sounded like Shivershine. Rainbow Dash and Applebloom looked into the bush.
"Hi, guys! Shivershine and I were just bonding over some tea. Isn't that right, Angel?" Fluttershy questioned. Angel grunted, and turned away from Fluttershy. It was clear she was neglecting him.
Rainbow saw what was going on, and thought that Fluttershy was neglecting THEM. So, Rainbow pulled Fluttershy out of the bushes, and went to see Rainbow's tricks.
"Now, Fluttershy. I know Shivershine is a very good friend to you, but you can't hoard her. Just because she's the new pony in town, doesn't mean you have to spend every second of every day." Rainbow said.
"Honestly, Rainbow. I think you're overreacting just a bit." Fluttershy calmly remarked. This detail sent Rainbow into hysteria.
"Overreacting? Overreacting!? OVERREACTING!?!?!?" Rainbow yelled. Fluttershy ran away, with tears flowing down her eyes faster than the Equestria Falls.
The next day, Fluttershy was walking towards Sugar Cube Corner, talking to Pinkie Pie. She opened the door to help her deliver some cupcakes.
"Hi, Pinkie Pie. I'm a bit, well, sad." Fluttershy whispered. Pinkie Pie looked at her in a confused manner, and shook her head.
"I know what'll make you feel better. How about a cupcake, or two, or five thousand!?" Pinkie Pie screamed. Fluttershy was utterly shocked. She looked down at her stomach, and said, "Um, I'm okay."
"So, I need you to deliver this container of fudgy flop cupcakes to Cherilee, these banana-blueberry burst cupcakes to Twilight, and these plain cupcakes to Rarity. Got that?" asked Pinkie Pie. Fluttershy nodded, and responded with a "Got it!"
Fluttershy had delivered the fudgy flop cupcakes, the blueberry-burst cupcakes, and just finished the plain ones. She was now talking to Rarity.
"Oh, darling. You have some cupcake frosting on your mane. Dear, let me get that for you." Rarity requested. She got a napkin, and wiped the cupcake off of her mane. She started looking at the slightly depressed expression on Fluttershy's face. "Is something bothering you, my dear?" she asked.
"No. Everything is fine. It's just that I'm a bit tired after delivering those cupcakes. I better head back to Pinkie Pie's. Heh." Fluttershy started laughing nervously. Rairty recognized this right away.
"Sweetie, I know you are lying. Please tell me what is bothering you." Rarity said.
Fluttershy looked from left to right. She then looked back at Rarity, and nodded her head. She whispered into Rarity's ear.
"Oh, okay then. But I think you should tell Pinkie first. Anyway, thanks for the cupcakes!" Rarity had shouted. "Here, I believe it was three bits?" She got 3 bits from her table, and handed them to Fluttershy. "Bye!"
Fluttershy had then traveled back to the Cake shop. She was talking to Pinkie Pie.
"Did you deliver all of those delectable, delicious, divine, delightful donuts?" Pinkie Pie asked.
"Um, Pinkie, they were cupcakes." Fluttershy responded, with a bit of concern in her voice.
"Duh! I just couldn't think of anything that starts with a "D". Ooh! Dessert! Yeah, dessert!" Pinkie Pie had exclaimed. "So, anyway, do you want a cupcake? Free of charge, for helping me deliver those cupcakes!"
"Not right now. I have to get to Shivershine." Fluttershy stopped, and then continued, "I AM allowed to go to Shivershine, right?"
"Well, duh!" Pinkie laughed. She even snorted. "Okay then. I'll be leaving!" Fluttershy had said.
An hour later, Pinkie had just sold Twilight a piece of candy for Spike. After she left, Rainbow and Applebloom came bursting through the door. "Fluttershy? Fluttershy!?" Applebloom shouted.
Rainbow was flying towards Pinkie Pie. "Do you know where Fluttershy is?" Rainbow interrogated.
Pinkie Pie shook her head up and down, and said, "She's hanging out with Shivershine again."
Rainbow Dash was beyond angry. Ironically, the stove beeped immediately after Rainbow became mad.
"Oh, the brownies are done! Here you go, Applebloom." Pinkie Pie had given Applebloom the platter of brownies. She gave 2 bits in return. Rainbow Dash was still frustrated.
"Do you want one, Rainbow?" Applebloom asked. Rainbow had stopped her frustration, and took a brownie from the platter. "Thanks." she said, after tasting it. She became angered again. She galloped at full pace out of the door, and spotted Fluttershy and Shivershine with suitcases surrounding them. They were boarding a hot air balloon.
"Not on my watch!" Rainbow had bellowed. When she finally arrived, Fluttershy and Shivershine were already halfway to Manehattan. Rainbow leaped up into the air, and flew as fast as her wings could carry her. Endless pain had came upon her wings, but she didn't care. She only cared about getting Fluttershy back.
When she finally caught up to them, Shivershine and Fluttershy had landed in Manehattan. Rainbow prayed to Celestia that they weren't moving there, because Manehattan is a very rough place. She would know.
"What in the hay are you doing all the way in Manehattan?" Rainbow asked. Her disappointment was easily recognized.
Shivershine sighed. "Do you want to tell her or should I?"
Fluttershy started to speak, "The reason I am in Manehattan is because Shivershine was just staying in Ponyville for a short amount of time. You know, for a vacation. She had a lot of fun."
Shivershine continued from where Fluttershy left off, "I'm sorry I never got to hang out with you. I just didn't get to know you as well as Fluttershy. Her and I are really good friends. The reason I didn't tell you I was from Manehattan was because I knew you thought the people residing there were stuck-up and snotty. Everypony tells me that."
Rainbow had suddenly started to feel sorry. "I'm sorry. I guess I didn't know. Good thing I brought my diary." She picked up a pen and started writing in it. "Dear Diary, today I learned that you shouldn't be so possessive of your friends. If they want to hang out with another pony, you shouldn't act so possessive and not allow it. This doesn't mean you shouldn't spend anytime at all with your friends, it just means that you shouldn't let them see you, and only you, against their will."
"I guess I learned that if you make a promise, you should stick to it." Fluttershy said. "I'll write that in my diary when I get home."
"Well, anyway, I'd like to say goodbye. Thank you two for the company!" Shivershine exclaimed. She galloped away.
"I'm gonna miss her, but let's go back to Ponyville so we can play a game with Applebloom and Pinkie Pie." Rainbow said. The two pegasi flew home, after bidding their goodbyes, of course. They had a lot of fun playing a board game with Applebloom and Pinkie Pie, and enjoyed themselves while playing it.
