Just a day to themselves.
Load Full StoryNext ChapterIt was a cold and wintry day in the land of Equestria. The snow lazily scattered across the land by the fluffy clouds up above. The princesses' sun hardly shone through the thick clouds, just little beams of light shined in a couple of areas. Canterlot Castle with quiet, only footsteps echoed through the empty halls. The young night princess silently shuffled through the halls, huddled up in a warm, cotton blanket. Tiny rays of sunlight glistened through the stained glass windows as Luna walked. She stopped in front of two tall doors and pushed them open with one little hand. "Tia?" Luna asked, peeping her head into the throne room. "A-are you in here...?" The young princess slowly made her way into the room and walked down the red velvet carpet. Princess Celestia was sitting on her throne. She heard Luna's voice and jumped up excitedly, "Sister!" she exclaimed, running down from the throne and to Luna.
"Tia! Tia!" The younger one said, rushing towards Celestia. The sun princess scooped Luna up by the armpits and spun her round and round. "Weeeeee!" Princess Luna squealed, giggling along with her dear older sister. Celestia put Luna down and hugged her warmly. "Oh younger sister, I missed you so!" Later last night, Luna came back to Canterlot after going for a night or two at her parent's. "I missed you too, Tia!" Celestia rubbed her cheek against Luna's and sighed happily, still in the warm embrace.
When the sisters broke apart, Celestia smiled. "Guess what sister. It snowed last night!" Luna gasped and jumped up and down excitedly, "Oh, oh! Can we build a snowman?" The lunar princess looked hopeful, her eyes shining with excitement. Celestia sighed and playfully rolled her eyes, "Yeah, yeah. But this time it'll be slightly different, my dear sister." The older princess took her sister's little hand and walked to her bedroom. Luna looked up at Celestia with a slightly confused, but cute, look. "What do you mean by...different?" She asks. Celestia shook her head and opened up her oak wood cupboard.
"You will have to wait and see." Luna's sister rifled through the cupboard and brought out a light pink jumper with a sun in the middle, some trousers and white mittens and snowboots. "Let's get you sorted out." The princess of the sun took Luna to her own bedroom and opened up the cupboard. She got out a her purple coat, her purple hat, some trousers and her snowboots and mittens and gave them to Luna. "Now, let's get dressed!"
The sisters laughed as the raced through the halls and out of the front doors of the castle. The two landed in a pile in the snow, still laughing. The snow nipped at their snub noses and showered down lightly on them, but they didn't care. All they cared about is that they were having the most fun they've had in years. Celestia picked up a snowball and started to roll it around in the rest of the snow on the frosty grass. The small snowball started to from a bigger one. As soon as it was up to Luna's hips, Celestia made another snowball. This snowball was a bit smaller than the other as it was the head of the snowman. Luna giggled and collected up two pebbles and a carrot in the pile near them. She put the pebbles and carrot onto the snowman's face. "Yay!" She exclaimed as Celestia place the head on the snow body. "Hmmm..." Celestia said and replaced the carrot into the snowman's forehead. It was no longer a snowman....it was a snow-unicorn! "Huzzah!" Luna yelled and gave the snowman her hat. "We've completed the snow-unicorn!" The young girl hugged her big sister tightly and beamed. "I love you, Tia." Celestia smiled and hugged her back gently.
"I love you too, my little Lulu." She kissed Luna's forehead before stroking her hair.
