What does romance mean?

Rainbow Dash jumped off her bed, soaring into the air whilst clutching her Spitfire and Soarin dolls. "We're gonna make it! YEEEOOWW-AAAAAOOOWWW!" she yelped as she fell straight onto the floor. She picked herself up and brushed her dolls down. "Maybe next time then," she sighed, trotting out of her bedroom and down to the kitchen. Her mom was cooking her a apple pie whilst her dad was out working.

"Hello, Darling! I'm just doing your dinner. Your dad should be back soon," she smiled. Rainbow Dash smiled back and hopped onto a table chair.

When her mom turned around, Rainbow Dash glanced at the table to see a magazine on it. She knew what a magazine was, it had boring writing and weird pictures in it. Then the title caught her eye. The word "sex" was wedged in between that sentence. Curiously, Rainbow Dash picked up the magazine and took it up to her bedroom. When she was sitting on her bed, she glanced carefully at the front page and frowned. She had already noticed the unusual title but the picture seemed even more weird. A mare was glancing right at Rainbow Dash, her eyes lazy with her tongue hanging out. Her back was to the viewer with her face turned around so you could see her odd expression.

"That's a silly face, why would she make it look like that? Does she need to sleep? Is she hungry, is that why she is showing her tongue? I didn't know that you had to do that if you were hungry," Rainbow Dash exclaimed, impressed. She started flipping through the magazine until she saw a page with a image that she would never forget.

Two mares were snogging, drooling and hugging each other tightly. The headline was weird too "The spa sisters hitting off a advanced romance." Rainbow Dash was disgusted to see two mares do this kind of thing, why would they do this?!

"YUCK! What is wrong with them?! EW, why would they do that with their tongues?! So, this is what you do when you hug somepony? Why did no pony tell me? No wonder why dad gives me strange looks when I hug him, I wasn't doing it properly! I'm glad I know now, because I do not want to hug ever again! So my mom was trying to do this when she was kissing and hugging me?! Eww!" Rainbow Dash shouted in alarm.

Then she began flipping through more pages, becoming more startled and sickened with every page she stopped to see. She saw the word "sex" and "romance" a lot so she decided to ask about it. She had a feeling that sex was just that word for a pony's gender, like what her parents told her. She decided to ask about that word later, she already knew what it meant anyway.

"Mom, Dad? What does romance mean?" Rainbow Dash asked, trotting into the living room to where her parents were on the sofa.

"How did you find out about that word?! Oh no, so you were the one who took my magazine?" Rainbow's mom asked, a shiver running down her spine. "You didn't look in it did you? Oh wait, you must of done. Well, you are very naughty! Who knows what your eyes could of experienced! Go upstairs, get my magazine and give it back to me!" she commanded.
