It was spring time in Equestria and all the flowers bloomed in the fields and all the animals came out of their hibernation. This was Fluttershy's favorite time of year, of course. She loved to have tea parties with her animal friends in the garden. She hummed happily as she spring cleaned her house. In the midst of the cleaning, there was a faint knock at the door. "Hm?" Fluttershy slowly made her way over and opened up the door with ease. "Hello...?" A familiar girl was standing there, dressed in athletic gear. "Hey Flutterhy." She said. It was Rainbow Dash. "Oh..um..hey Dash. Why are you here?" Fluttershy asks softly. "Well, I had nothing to do so I thought I would stop by." She replies, flicking back her rainbow hair. "Um..well then..come in!" Fluttershy opened up the door fully, allowing Rainbow to walk into her cottage. As soon as Rainbow Dash walked inside, Fluttershy carefully close the door behind her. "Wow..it's neat in here." Fluttershy giggled, "Yeah, I've been doing a bit of Spring Cleaning." "Ah, right. I'm not much of a tidier." Rainbow Dash smiled. Fluttershy walked into the kitchen and started to boil some water. "Tea or coffee?" She asked with a gentle tone. "Um, tea please." Replied Dash, hovering in the kitchen doorway. "Okay, sugar too?" "Yes please!" Fluttershy smiled and got the ingredients and tools ready. After the water boiled, Fluttershy put a tea bag each in their cups and then poured the boiling water in. "Um Rainbow? Can you pass me that teaspoon over there?" She pointed to a little silver teaspoon on the counter with her finger. "Sure thing Fluttershy." Rainbow tossed the spoon to her a little too fast. "Eeek!" She squealed and ducked down quickly. The spoon hit the mugs hard and they fell over with a crash. Hot water spilled out of the mugs and onto the floor. Fluttershy stood up and looked at the shocked Rainbow Dash. Dash had her hand over her mouth. "Sorry Fluttershy..." She said guiltily. The shy female looked at the tea and then at Dash. "It's...it's fine..." She sighs and breaks off a bit of tissue from the rack. Flutters bent down and mopped up the hot water on the floor. "No....it's not fine..." Dash said with a hint of anger in her voice. The athletic girl grabbed a tissue and mopped up the counter as well as picking up the mugs and putting them in the sink. Fluttershy sighed and dropped her soaked tissue into the bin. "I'm sorry Fluttershy. I ruined our tea." "I said it's fine..." The element of kindness looked at Rainbow in the eyes. "I Pinkie promise it is. I-I had a backup plan anyway.." "Really?" "Yes really. Why don't we go to Sugarcube Corner for lunch instead?" Rainbow Dash smiled, "Alright...sounds like a good idea!" Fluttershy giggled and linked arms with Dash. "Let's go then." The pair walked together, arm in arm, to Sugarcube Corner. The sun shone brightly on them as if they were in the spotlight. SleepoverThe rain patted on the windows of the cottage. The wind howled in every direction. It was horrible. Fluttershy huddled up on the couch, scared of the howls of the wind. "Eek!" She squealed and hugged a pillow tightly. The sun was slowly setting, making everything a bit more spookier. "I-I'm scared..." Fluttershy mumbled into the pillow. Rainbow Dash crawled over to her and gave Fluttershy a warm hug. "It's alright." Fluttershy clung onto Rainbow Dash and smiled. "Would you like to stay for a sleepover...?" She asks delicately. Rainbow Dash smiled, "Sure thing." "Yay." Rainbow stroked Fluttershy's hair slowly with her hand, still smiling. The shy girl blushed and closed her eyes tightly. Why can't I get her out of my head? Why am I thinking of kissing her. Why do I love her? Wait...I-I love her! Oh my... She opened up her eyes again and looked up at Rainbow. "Um, you could sleep in my bed tonight." Rainbow Dash stared at Fluttershy and opened her mouth to speak. "U-um! Not together. Hehe. I'll sleep on the sofa. I insist," "Alright Flutters. If you are sure." Fluttershy nods. "I'm sure." She stood up and walked up the wooden stairs. Her flat shoes sunk into the fluffy carpet of the bedroom and got out a pillow and a blanket from the airing cupboard in the corner. Rainbow Dash quickly stripped down to her underwear when Fluttershy's back was turned and hopped into bed. "Night Flutters!" She said. Her friend giggled, "Night Dash." Fluttershy stepped out of the room and snapped the light off. She closed the door and made her way downstairs with the blanket and pillow. When Fluttershy set her bed up she climbed in and fell asleep. ConfessionsBirds sang a beautiful song as the sun rose of the moors. The sunshine shone freely in the blue sky. Not a cloud was in sight. Rays of the sun came dripping into Fluttershy's cottage as she sat up and stifled a yawn. Rainbow Dash was already awake. She was making breakfast. Beans on toast. That's not what most people would call breakfast, but she didn't care. "Rainbow Dash....?" Said Fluttershy after she yawned. Rainbow, however, did not reply as she was busy making breakfast. Fluttershy stood up quickly, slightly worried that her best friend didn't reply. "Dash?" She said again, a bit louder this time. "Yes?" Rainbow finally replied. Fluttershy stepped into the kitchen and looked at her. "Oh..nevermind. I thought you left already.." Whispered Fluttershy. "I wouldn't leave without you knowing!" Rainbow laughed and hugged Flutters close. Now's your chance Rainbow! You can tell her... Fluttershy blushes and hides it quickly behind her hair. "So..what are you cooking?" Darn it! I was too slow... "Ehh....beans on toast. Is that okay with you?" Said Rainbow as she poured beans onto the cooked toast. "Yeah. That's fine." Fluttershy smiled and got out the plates and cutlery. When Rainbow Dash finished pouring the beans onto the toast, she carefully lifted them up and placed them on the separate plates Fluttershy got out. They carried out their plates into the living room and put them on the smooth wooden coffee table. They sat down on the couch, grabbed their knife and forks and dug in. "That was delicious Rainbow. Thank you." Was the first thing that was said after they had finished. She blushed, "Ah, don't mention it 'Shy," She grinned. Angel came hopping up to Fluttershy's feet and pulled on her leg. "What is it Angel?" The bunny pointed at his rumbling stomach. "Oh, you're hungry?" He nods, "I'll be there in just a second, I need to take these back into the kitchen." She stood up and started to stack the plates together until Angel jumped up, slapped her on the cheek and pointed at his belly. Fluttershy sighed, "Fine..." She put the plates back down and let Angel drag her to the kitchen. "No, Fluttershy. Don't let him boss you about.." Rainbow grabbed one of Fluttershy's hands and pulled her away from Angel. "Rainbow...I have to, okay..?" The shy girl replied, wiggled herself free and walked into the kitchen. "I guess I'll tidy up the plates, then," Rainbow Dash sighed and picked up the plates and strolled into the kitchen. "hey Flutters, I got the plates." She said and put them into the sink. Rainbow sighed, rain dripping down her hair, "Could....could you at least let me in?" She asked, shivering slightly. Fluttershy unlocked the door and opened it, looking at Rainbow. Her eyes were watering and her cheeks had tear stains on them. She sniffled as she saw her friend. "S-sure..." Fluttershy took Dash's hand and pulled her inside, quickly slamming the door behind her. They awkwardly stood in silence, fiddling with their clothes until Fluttershy finally spoke up, "I'm dating Big Mac...." "Oh....that's good..." "But, Rainbow Dash. I....I want to be wi-with you." Rainbow looked at Fluttershy, faintly blushing. "Y-you do?" "I do. I love you Rainbow Dash! I'll call it off with Big Mac." Dash shook her head and sighed, "No...you stay with him. "Uh, we just came to get a couple of snacks for lunch. Right Fluttershy?" Fluttershy nodded. "Okie dokie lokie! Choose your pick!" Pinkie Pie bounced to the counter and revealed 2 cupcakes. She pointed to them individually, "So. Here's the Rainbow Road," She pointed to a rainbow colored cupcake with white starry sprinkles. "and here's the Yellow Mellow," A yellow cupcake with bright yellow butterflies. "you'll like that one Fluttershy!" She said and handed it over to her. "It looks very lovely Pinkie Pie, thank you," Fluttershy held the cupcake in her hand. "how much is it?" "You can have it for free! That's what best friends are for, right?" "Oh thank you Pinkie!" She hugged Pinkie happily. Rainbow Dash looked at Fluttershy and Pinkie Pie hugging and quietly grumbled. "H-hey Fluttershy...let's go now.." She took Fluttershy's hand, holding her rainbow cupcake in the other. "Alright Dash. Thank you Pinkie!" She held the cupcake carefully as they walked out of the shop. "No problem!!!" She yelled back. She hugged Pinkie happily. Rainbow Dash looked at Fluttershy and Pinkie Pie hugging and quietly grumbled. "H-hey Fluttershy...let's go now.." She took Fluttershy's hand, holding her rainbow cupcake in the other. "Alright Dash. Thank you Pinkie!" She held the cupcake carefully as they walked out of the shop. "No problem!!!" She yelled back. Fluttershy and Rainbow Dash sat down on the couch in the cottage, happily munching their cupcakes. "Mm! This is delicious!" Rainbow Dash said in between mouthfuls. Fluttershy giggled and finished her cupcake slowly. "Yeah. It is." She wiped her mouth with a napkin and dropped her cupcake wrapper in the bin. She looked over at Rainbow Dash and smiled. Rainbow Dash smiled back and put her wrapper in the bin as well. "So...now what?" Fluttershy said softly. "Hmm..." Dash looked outside the window. Unfortunately it started to rain as they got inside the cottage. "Well...it's raining right now..so I guess I could walk home." Dash said breezily. "Oh! If it's raining then you can stay." "No, no..it's alright." "Rainbow, I insist," Fluttershy looked at Rainbow Dash steadily. "it's better if you stay dry than wet." Rainbow shrugged, "Alright. I'll stay." "Yay." Fluttershy gave Rainbow a little hug. The athletic female blushed lightly. "Hehe." She chuckled and patted Fluttershy's back.
