Changingby TheUnforgivenChaptersPrologueChapter 1Chapter 2PrologueThanks to Roudee for helping me correct some errors! Prologue: “Ah, Star! You’re here, welcome back!” A lavender Alicorn princess greeted me as I walked into her library. “And before you ask: Sorry, but you’re book still hasn't arrived.” “Well, shhhhhhhhiiii…” I was about to exclaim, but realized I was in the presence of a princess and tried to think of something else. “Shi… shish… Shiznickles!” I noticed how strange that sounded. “I shouldn't have said that; that sounded really stupid… Who says Shiznickles?!” All the lavender pony did was giggle at me before speaking again. “See, that’s what I don’t get about you, Star. You’re fine with saying swear words in front of the rest of Ponyville, but not me…” “That’s because you are a princess, your highness.” I said, bowing. “Please, call me Twilight. I hate it when ponies call me ‘your highness’…and there is no need to bow,” she said as I raised my head. “And this brings me onto the reason I called for you.” “Oh?” “Some of the other ponies have been watching you…” She said, slowly. “Is this because I’m a Thestral?” “No! Don’t be so silly!” “It’s because I’m a Thestral, isn't it?” I asked again. “Well, not exactly…” “It’s because I’m a Thestral, isn't it, Twilight?” “Look, its nothing personal; its just that Ponyville has never had your species as a resident…” she said, slower than before. “Those racist mother-” “Star!” she said before I could finish. “Sorry, its just that I've always been going from town to town because I could never stay in one place. Too many racist ponies making it almost impossible to live anywhere,” I said, my ears dropping. “Never mind that, back to what you were saying.” “Yes, well… Some of the ponies have been watching you, just in case, and they have noticed that every week you would sneak into the Everfree Forest for an hour or so and sneak back into the town, sometimes with your mouth covered in blood,” she said, looking at me suspiciously. “Ah. Yes, that. Well, you see… Thestrals are said to be called Vamponies by ponies that don’t understand us for a reason. We require a constant supply of blood to survive.” Instantly, the lavender mare summoned a piece of parchment and a quill then started to write. “We don’t generate enough iron in our blood on our own, so we have to feed off other creatures to gain that iron, whether they are alive or dead but fresh.” I continued, “If we don’t get enough our body starts to react and we get a strong craving which, if not satisfied once a week, can lead to us going crazy. It’s a psychological thing our brain does to make sure we get what we need.” I stopped when I noticed Twilight's head rise with a confused look. “Would you care to explain the Vampony bit?” she asked with a raised eyebrow. “Sure. Well, it is true that Thestrals and Vamponies are biologically the same species, it’s the different paths we take in life that actually differ us from each other. For instance, a Thestral will never take blood from another pony unless they are donating their blood for the Thestral to drink freely. But a Vampony takes blood from another living pony without their permission. That’s the most obvious stuff. But back to the reason you asked for me come round, I was going into the Everfree for my weekly supply of blood.” “…and how did you acquire this blood?” she asked, raising her head again. “Well… There are dead animals out there sometimes….” I said slowly. “And the other times?” she cringed. I chuckled weakly and rubbed the back of my neck with a hoof. I had forgotten about Thestrals being the only carnivorous pony species. “Uuuumm….. I think you know the answer to that already…” “HOW COULD YOU? HOW COULD YOU KILL THOSE INNOCENT CREATURES?!” she screamed at me. As she continued to shout at me, I cowered away into the corner. It was terrifying. A princess screaming at you in the royal Canterlot voice. She had definitely picked up a lot from Princess Luna over the years. I became really hot as she pressured down on me, so I took off my black bandanna from my head, releasing my dark red mane, and wiped my brow with it to get rid of any sweat. As the lavender mare calmed herself down, my anger grew. She had shouted at me for something that all Thestrals do. Something that we do naturally, as a part of our everyday life. You would've thought a princess would be more understanding and open minded, but no. It turns out she is no better than the rest of Ponyville. “What do you have to say for yourself?” was all she asked after her rant. “What do I have to say for myself? Don’t you mean, 'what do I have to say for my whole species'?” It was just then that Twilight realized what had actually just happened. “I say: I’m leaving. It was a ‘pleasure’ talking to you, princess, and I hope our next encounter is not so racist.” I turned to the door and was about to grab the handle before I heard her voice come from behind. “Star, wait!” she sounded full of regret. “I’m sorry, I didn't mean any of that! I've been under a lot of stress from my royal duties and it makes me really cranky.” “And that makes it OK?” “Well, no… how about you come and have a drink with me and we can talk some more?” she said weakly. I raised an eyebrow and stared at her for a moment, then turned back to the door. “Star! Please…” “I have no say in this do I?” I asked, defeated. “Nope!” a purple and green reptile said calmly as he walked in between us. He was a baby dragon by the name of Spike, if I remember correctly. He walked into the kitchen then moments later came back out with a tub of ice cream before walking back up the stairs. “Ehe,” she half giggled, sheepishly. “Fine!” I sighed, turning back to her and walked in her direction. *** I woke up with a jolt. I had just had the strangest dream in existence. In it, I was a talking horse with bat wings, and I was talking to another horse with bird wings and a horn. The fuck? I checked my whole body in a mad panic. Hands not hooves, good, I like hands, you can do many things with hands. Skin, bare skin, not brown fur. Good, I’m no furry. Normal mouth, no fangs, OK, I wont be mistaken for a werewolf mid-transformation or a vampire. No wings, thank God, I wont have the church after me and calling me a demon spawn. I was just me. No weird extra things or lack of others. I was me. Plain old Jason. Nothing more, nothing less. I sighed in relief and could only think of one thing. That dream. Normally I would have forgotten most of it by now, but this was different. I could remember it clearly. Like it actually happened. Like… like a memory. Then that was pushed out of my mind by another thought. “What the fuck was that all about?!” Author's Note This is something I hope has never been done before, at least, not to this level and I hope you enjoy it and whats to come. Thank you for reading. P.S: this was going to have some ship between Star and Twilight but I thought it was best not. Chapter 1Chapter 1: “Shut the fuck up! I’m trying to sleep here!” My roommate screamed as he threw a pillow at me from the other side of the room. “Sorry… I just had the most fucked up dream ever…” I apologised. It was currently 5:22 in the morning and my roommate, Miles, was not a early morning person… especially when it’s a Sunday… and the sun still hasn’t risen… and I’m starting to ramble here, I should stop… “I don’t give two shits if you had a fucked up dream!” He shouted, throwing another pillow. “You don’t shout ‘What the fuck was that all about?!’ this early in the morning!” “It’s not my fault you’re a light sleeper!” I shouted back throwing the first pillow at his head. It struck him but did fuck all… since, well, you know… it’s a fucking pillow… *knock* *knock* *knock* “Would you two get to fornicating already!” a voice shouted through the wall. I simply rolled my eyes but Miles blushed. “Fuck you!” I called back. An awkward silence followed as me and Miles just sat on our respected beds in the dark. For some reason I could see really well, it was like there was clouds blocking out the sun in the middle of the day. We sat there for another minute before Miles spoke. “Well I’m up now, might as well stay up because its gunna take a few hours of lying here to get to sleep again…” he sighed “Let me just put the light on,” he got out of his bed and walked over to the door where the light switch was and flipped it. He flinched as his eyes adjusted to the sudden change of light. My reaction, however, was a lot more extreme. “AAH!! FUCK, THAT’S BRIGHT!!” I screamed as I covered my eyes with my arm. “What are you talking about? It’s not THAT bright, I mean, just let your eyes adjust to it and it will be fine…” “NO, seriously! Turn it off!!” I shouted at him but he didn’t move. “Dude, it hurts. Turn it off!” “Nah~” He teased. “It’ll be fine… trust me!” he exclaimed with a mock grin. “Just turn it off already!” “Nah. I’m alright!” “TURN. IT. OFF!” “Fine, jeez.” He sighed as he turned to light off. “You are SUCH a baby sometimes” Ok, that was weird, even for me… Now, I’m the kind of person who hardly ever goes out and almost never has the light on but… THAT was something else. I have never, EVER reacted to ANYTHING like that before. “What was all that about anyway?” Miles asked me as he walked towards my bed. “You probably woke up the whole campus.” he chuckled. “I… I don’t even know. For some reason, that really hurt my eyes.” “Seriously? You’re such a wimp!” “It felt like I was staring at the sun!” “Oh, c’mon. It wasn’t that br-” “THE SUN!” “Alright, alright. Jeez,” he sat on the end of my bed and started to think. Now… once Miles starts thinking, one of two things happen: either all Hell breaks loose or all of heaven descends upon you. …don’t quote me on that… “Hold on for a second, I need to check something,” he finally spoke. He started to scoot closer to me on my bed, still thinking, and I got a bit uncomfortable. First off, let me tell you that having a homosexual roommate is not the easiest thing in the world. Mainly because as soon as one person finds out, they tell the rest of the university finds out and that makes your life hell when everybody thinks you’re fucking each other. (Wait, what? I never said that Miles is gay? Did I need to? Its like saying ‘Oh and my roommate is straight!’ who wants to know that? Anyway…) it also doesn’t help the fact that I have caught him looking at me in ‘that way’ when he thought I wasn’t looking, even though he insists that I’m not his type. (And before anybody says anything about me being homophobic about this. I will have you know, he is my life long friend and I was more supportive to him when he ‘came out’ than his own parents! And I still am!) So, yeah. He scooted all the way over to me while I was still in my bed and stared at my eyes for a few seconds. “Dude, what are you doing?” I asked him nervously. “Shut up. I’m concentrating!” he snapped as he leaned closer to my face. A little too close for comfort. He then placed his hands on my face. Not cool. “Ok, seriously. What are you doing?” I asked as I tried to back away a bit more. “Sshhhh!” “Argh! Get off, I HAVE A GIRLFRIEND!” I cried as I tried to swat his hands away. “Look,” he started, blushing slightly. “there is something wrong with your eyes and I’m trying to see what it is, which is very hard in this light!” “How can you tell if there is something wrong with my eyes?” “First of all, I’m taking medical courses. second of all, I don’t remember your eyes being yellow.” “…” “Last time I checked, they were brown. So either your eyes have something wrong with them or you’re wearing contact lenses without me knowing.” “I’m not wearing contact lenses, you know I hate putting things in my eyes,” I told him as he stood up and started to walk towards his own bed. “Hey, dude, can you pass me a mirror or something? I need to see this for myself. Make sure your not trying to prank me or something,” I called over to him. “Yeah, sure!” he replied as he picked up an object from his bedside table. He walked back over to me and was about to hand me the object but hesitated. “…although, I’m not sure you will be able to see in this kind of light. It is kinda dar-” “Just give me the fucking mirror already!” “Alright, alright! Calm down.” He handed me the mirror and I looked at the reflection of my eyes. To say I was shocked would be the understatement of the year! I don’t even know how long I stared at my reflection but it must have been a while. My eyes have completely changed. they were no longer the brown, boring eyes I grew up with, they were yellow, VERY yellow, yellowier than sith eyes. And they looked like they belonged to a cat. Slit like pupils with bright yellow irises that filled the whole eye, no white bits to it at all. “What… the…” was all I could manage so say. “I think its safe to say that you’ll need sunglasses when you go out for your lectures tomorrow,” Miles commented. “Hey, at least it will cover up some of that ugly face of yours!” He joked. Damn, that was a nice mirror. It’s a shame it cracked when it made contact with Miles’ face… Author's Note I am soooooooo sorry it took this long to upload!! I did have this chapter already written out about a month or so ago but I never posted it because I wanted to write more onto it but I just thought 'you know what? Fuck it!' Again I'm sorry but here it is, an actual chapter to a story I started writing so many months ago! On a plus note, I have the holidays coming up in a week so maybe I can get off my lazy ass and actually write something for you lot! UNTIL NEXT TIME, and thanks for reading! (Don't expect the next chapter for another 98462136813.5 years...) Chapter 2Chapter 2: “Yo, faggot! What up?” I groaned inwardly as I heard that very distinct and annoying voice. It doesn’t help that I was in one of the most boring lectures I have ever had the displeasure of attending. Its been about 30 hours since my little incident about my eyes and they haven’t changed a single bit. They are still extremely sensitive to light, meaning I need to wear sunglasses everywhere I go, and are still yellow. So. Fucking. Yellow. Miles is still trying to figure out what’s happened to them and I doubt he will stop until he achieves his goal or just completely gives up. I’m betting on the latter right now. “Faggot, you deaf of something? I asked you a question! And I expect an answer!” I gritted my teeth as I looked upwards and stared at the ceiling for a few seconds before returning my eyes to the front. “The ceiling. That’s what’s up, Daniela. Past that is the second floor, then the roof and then the sky. And if you want to go beyond that… Space. Oh, there might be a few birds on the way.” I replied with a monotone voice. “You know, I hate a smart-ass!” The voice whispered into my ear as it leaned closer to me. “Good for you, Daniela. Good. For. You. Maybe you should add me to your list of victims to bully… oh wait, I’m already on it.” I whispered back in a half monotone/ half sarcastic voice. Now, the voice I am talking about is a dickhead called Daniel. He’s the kind of guy that everybody hates. Well, except for himself and his little crew that is. He's the cliché jock/bully combo that goes around picking on anything that was different or that they didn’t like. Unfortunately, I was both to him meaning I was a constant victim to his games. I suppose I do deserve some of it because I always call him Daniela, much to his hatred for the name. Daniel leaned back in his chair but moved it closed to mine. Normally he sits on the other side of the room but he obviously moved just to annoy me. Luckily for him the professor who is currently giving us our boring ass lecture hardly ever notices students moving, even if he does he wouldn't care. “What do you want, Daniela? Cant you see I’m trying to learn?” I asked him. ‘learning things I already know off by heart.’ I thought to myself. “Oh, you know. Just checking up on my favourite faggot,” he replied nonchalantly, waving his hand in a casual manner. “I’m your favourite bundle of sticks? I honestly don’t know if I should feel honoured or just worried for your mental health,” I told him with a smirk. He reached out and smacked me across the back of my head. Good thing I’m used to this dude hitting me. “I told you I hate a smart-ass,” he whispered through gritted teeth. “Well, I hate you so the feeling is pretty much mutual!” I told him with a glare through my glasses, forgetting he couldn’t see my eyes. He smacked me across the back of my head again but this time with a bit more force. Enough to make my shades slide down my nose slightly. I pushed them back up instantly as I rubbed the now sore spot on my head. “Anyway, what’s with the sunglasses.? You tryin’ to act all cool?” ‘Shite!’ I swore internally as I realised I needed to think of an excuse for the shades. I couldn't tell him about my eyes, that would be a mistake and a half. ‘I could tell him… no, that won’t work. I could… nope, that won’t work either. Maybe I… no. What about… nein! NEIN NEIN NEIN!! NEIN!!!’ “Tick-tock, faggot.” “It’s n-none of your business!” I stuttered, quickly, in a panic. Wow, Smooth as fucking sandpaper… “Riiiight. Well, I say it is my business. So tell me why you have stupid looking sunglasses on indoors on a cloudy day. “I told you! Its none of you God damn business!” I almost yelled at him. Daniel was not impressed by my answer at all. He clicked his fingers and pointed at his little crew then at me. Instantly, Max, Terry and George (the only members of his 'I-have-a-tiny-dick-so-I-take-my-frustration-out-on-others’ club) grabbed hold of my arms and immobilized me. Terry had his dirty hand over my mouth so I couldn’t call for help. The noise from the struggle brought a few glances our direction but nobody wanted to get involved so they ignored us. “Isn't that a lot better?” he asked as he leaned forward and placed his hands on my shades. “I don’t think you’ll be needing these any more. Maybe I’ll keep ‘em. Probably look better on me anyway. ‘wow, this fucker is dense. Didn't he call that stupid looking just few seconds ago?’ I thought to myself as I tried to wriggle free of the grip that was going to be my undoing. I have to give credit to these guys, they have a strong hold. I was forced to watch as Daniels fingers made contact with the glasses and slowly take them off my face. I could hear George singing the Jaws theme for added affect and tension. It was definitely needed for what Daniel was about to see. Once he was done with his totally dramatic sunglasses removal, he looked down to fold them up then looked back up to me. And yes, he saw my yellow eyes. Why did they have to be yellow? OF ALL THE COLOURS IN THE RAINBOW! I was too busy trying to wriggle out of my death grip to notice that my eyes should have been closed. My bully just stared at me with a look of confusion. once I noticed him staring I stopped my struggling and stared back with wide eyes. He got a better look at me and his confused face turned to one of shock, then absolute horror. He tried to move backwards In his chair but that caused him to fall backward and hit his head on the floor. The collective noise of him hyperventilating and falling to the floor brought a lot of unwanted attention as many students turned their heads towards us, trying to see what the commotion was. Daniels crew let go of me and rushed to his side to see if he was ok, only to be pushed aside was he stood up and started to back away from me. “Freak… freak… freak…” he muttered repeated over and over again as he pointed a finger at me. I noticed he had dropped my shades so I swept them up and quickly put them back over my eyes as I tried my best to ignore Daniel. However, everyone’s attention was brought back to the front as the Professor started shouting. “Daniel! Sit down, shut up and pay attention! Or I’ll have to do something about your attitude-” just then the buildings bell rang to signal the end of our lecture. “Alright, everybody! Bugger off!” The Professor grunted. The students flooded out of the room, forgetting about the commotion Daniel caused. He himself had stopped his incoherent rambling and rushed off with his friends to get as far away from me as possible. As he reached the door, professor called out to him. “You won’t be so lucky next time Dani boy!” Unfortunately, that wasn’t the last I saw of him. Not by a long shot. Author's Note Well, here is the new chapter... . . . Yeah, I'm in Wales at the time of writing this and the internet is pretty crappy here, so I decided to use this as an opportunity to stop being a fuckhead and actually write something for you lot. YAY FOR SHITTY INTERNET! The next chapter will probably have the gore tag come into play (By that I mean there will be a large amount of blood and screaming. yay). And for those who are wondering, I will write more stuff about Star in the future and they will appear as Interludes. Anywho, I hope you enjoy the new chapter and please show me any mistakes I may have made while writing this. And always, thanks for reading!

(Don't expect the next chapter for another 98462136813.5 years...)
Chapter 2Chapter 2: “Yo, faggot!
