“Wh-Where... Wh-Where am I? Wh-Who am I? Why... Why can’t I feel my body? I can’t feel my breath... Am I... Dead? Then how... How am I thinking? What happened to me? Wh-What is happening to me?”
-A Thousand Years Ago-
A winged-unicorn with her white coat and a flowing mane so graceful with the colors of cerulean, turquoise, cobalt blue, and pink looked over her dead father. Tears flowed in her eyes as she looked over the lavender-coated stallion that lied on the ground breathless. Another winged-unicorn with a dark sapphire coat stood next to the white-coated pony putting a hoof on her back. The white-coated pony sighed pushed away the reassuring hoof and walked away slowly as the sapphire-coated pony followed behind.
For a while, no noise was sounded besides the steps of the two. Finally, the sapphire-coated pony broke the silence. “Sister... Thou shalt know that none of the fault is yours. If anyone's to blame, it's the accursed monster Discord.”
The white-coated pony sighed. “But Luna...” Tears started streaming down as she shouted, “I should have been there to protect him!”
Luna looked down. “Thou shall not blame thyself for what has been caused!” She walked in front of the white-coated Alicorn and stopped in her tracks. “It was the intention of Discord to lower our standard. Thou canst lose hope! If thou dost lose hope...” Luna looked down. "We shall be the more confused as to what we should do... Please Sister..."
The white-coated winged-unicorn looked down. She muttered under her breath as she continued to walk. Luna looked back at her dead father before rushing next to her sister again. Her cobalt mane swept across the white-coated Alicorn as Luna walked closer.
“Celestia, please..." Luna pleaded. "We need to fulfill the wishes of our father. We need the Elements of Harmony to stop Discord!”
Celestia stayed silent as she thought of the elements. The Elements... How much power do they possess? Luna... My sister... I am sorry... Thou art correct. I canst look back. Discord wants us to feel down. We must regain the Elements of Harmony! For Akayreuel’s sake! For Equestria’s sake!
Celestia stood taller and held a determined look. Luna smiled seeing her sister regaining her confidence. “So, Sister? What shall we do?”
Celestia looked over at Luna and smiled. “Let’s do this Luna. Together. Let's get the Elements of Harmony.” Celestia extended a hoof to Luna. Luna nodded and accepted her hoof of friendship as they ran off.
Akayreuel Ciro laid on the ground seemingly smiling.
After Discord's First Defeat
“Have we done it? Have we finished him?”
Celestia and Luna looked over a statue of a draconequus that they battled against with the Elements of Harmony. His horse-like head, deer antlered, goat horned, one fanged, eagle clawed, lizard legged, goat legged, lion armed, snake tongued, bat winged, Pegasus winged, snake tailed covered; every inch of the monster was covered in a stone prison. His pose had his head held high as he seemed to sing to the sky.
Celestia nodded to Luna. “Yes, Sister. We, in our struggle, hast finally brought harmony back to the land!”
Celestia and Luna cheered as they finally grasped the idea that they defeated the draconequus Discord and brought back harmony to the world.
“Sister, let's go! Off to the land to celebrate our victory!” Celestia cheered.
“Then we canst have this fun that I have heard about!” Luna grinned.
“Sister, hast thou forgotten how to have fun?”
Luna looked over at Celestia and sheepishly grinned. “Uh... Arest thou crazy? I completely remember this fun we had in our fillyhood.”
Celestia smirked. "Then prove it.”
Luna looked back and forth. "P-Prove what?"
"Prove that thou can hast the fun."
Luna gave a cheesy smile. “Well, uh... We go to town, and we shall prove it there. Race thou, my sister!”
Celestia smiled. “Then start when ready.”
“Heel thou! What about the statue?”
Celestia gazed at Discord's statue. "Thou means Discord? We shall put our father's guards to carry this burden."
Luna smile grew. "You mean... Our guards."
Celestia rose an eyebrow. “What does thou mean?”
Luna continued smiling greatly. "Remember, what our father had? We now holdest in our own hooves.”
Celestia frowned. "Luna, dost thou think that our father may not be pleased?" Celestia sighed. "Then again, our father is... gone."
Luna joined frowning with Celestia. "Thou knowest that our father was great. But each kingdom must strive. The castle, the land, the guards; they all belongest to us. We needst to accept the fact that-"
"That what!?" Celestia interrupted, tears becoming eminent. "Our father is gone!? That we canst do anything about it!? How could thou push away our father with such ease!?"
Luna sighed. "Celestia... I know thou hurts, but... But thou needs to move on. Akayreuel wouldst not agree to thou's sorrow." Celestia stayed silent, so Luna continued. "Thou lovest him much, but sometimes, the things thou lovest most must be torn away for thy learning."
Celestia let the tears flow. "Luna..."
Luna hugged Celestia for comfort, in which Celestia returned the hug. With a last word, Celestia said, "Never leave me, Luna."
Nightmare Moon
“Luna! Please! Awaken from thy prison!”
'Luna' grinned at Celestia. Her grin overwhelmingly seemed to change the scenery of the castle as she walked closer to Celestia. “Celestia, thou hast no power over me. Thou canst call thy ‘Luna’. Thou shalt bow to us! Nightmare Moon!”
Celestia walked backwards for a little while until her back hoof tapped on the Elements of Harmony. She looked quickly before turning to Nightmare Moon. “Please Sister! I don't want to fight thou!”
Nightmare Moon stepped forward and snickered. “Thou knowest thou shall not face my power. Thou and we knowest the stronger one here.” She then lost her evil smirk. “Because thou shall not fight, we shall take our leave. We shall place this world into everlasting darkness! But before we leave...” She then posed herself into a stance of combat. “We shall make sure that thou standest not in our way!” Thunder boomed behind as she finished her sentence.
Celestia closed her eyes and knew what she had to do next to her sister. She did not want to fight, but she knew it was the only way to get her ‘Luna’ back. Celestia stood strong as she yelled, "I shall then return the fight! Prepare Nightmare Moon!"
Celestia looked over Akayreuel’s grave as her tears flowed slowly. “Why... Why did you have to leave? I... I need you Father.” She tilted her head down as her tears rolled on to the dirt of where Akayreuel was laid. “Father... If you can heareth me, please... Give me advice!” No sound came except the sounds of Celestia’s sobs. She looked on her father’s grave and started digging at it. “If Father canst hear my plead, I shall make him hear it!” Celestia eagerly dug at her Father’s grave. Soon, Akayreuel’s mane poked out of the ground. Celestia stopped and looked at her father’s bluish-white mane. She brushed his mane with her hoof and soon brought herself too close that she fell in her small hole she created.
Celestia looked up and noticed it was becoming late according to her magic. She flew out of the hole and covered it up before flying to the castle. When she arrived, her servants came as usual to greet her with friendly smiles but Celestia walked pass them.
A guard closed the door from behind and faced the other guard. “She hast been in this mood for too long.”
The other guard nodded. “We canst interfere in her business, though I wish to helpeth her in her sorrow.”
The first guard agreed as well and stood back in position.
Celestia kept walking in the lower boundaries of the castle. She looked back and forth as she passed by many doors. Then she stopped at the last door at the end of the hall. She entered the room and looked around carefully. She never was allowed to explore this room while Akayreuel Ciro was alive. In fact, she never wanted to go to a creepy place like this.
Celestia walked around the room. There was a notebook on the desk that had a quill stuck between the pages. She removed the quill with her magic and put it back in the quill holder and started reading the book.
Day 1
I have intended this project to start for quite a while now. The problem is that life cannot be started by just a simple energy surge of a magical spell. I cannot doubt that I may have throw myself into a worse time to start as Discord overruled Equestria, but it shall not be too late. I have received an empty corpse for my test subject that is of a young Earth stallion. Implanting the wings of a pegasus and the magic of a unicorn will be my first task in creating the perfect alicorn.
Day 15
Two weeks of work has brought this alicorn into form. Having both wings and a horn, I now can concern myself with the next step. Not only does he have to be perfect in magic, but he also must be able to wield the Elements of Harmony. To be able to utilize these elements, he must first have a being of friendship. I allowed myself to give my DNA up, but considered not to tamper with my soul. My being is imperfect, and bringing my own self to create a replica of myself would be uncanny. I put away the lock of hair that I cut for the experiment away for future importance if time limited itself. I would have to find a pony with a high standard of friendship if I want to continue.
Day 49
With more and more ponies dying off, there’s no use to allow myself to search for the perfect being. I have been increasing this project’s magical energy to even exceed my own. If he couldn’t beat Discord with the Elements of Harmony, then I had to make sure that the project beat his magical power if I could defeat him. It may be a risk for myself to throw myself into battle with this wretched beast of disharmony, so I shall put my proceedings into finding a way to animate my created being. I shall make haste as more ponies are being killed even I as write.
Day 52
Discord has found this castle. He knows of the project I have created and seeks to destroy it before I complete him. I have given up on this project. This project shall be hidden as I go against Discord. I haven’t found any Element of Harmony, nor have I found a way to activate my experiment. If I could stall time for my beloved daughters for them to find the Elements, then I will give them as much time as I can.
Celestia flipped to the next page to find nothing more written. She kept flipping through until she reached the end of the book. She recognized it instantly; it was a lock of Akayreuel’s hair. She looked around the room to find a sheet covering a cylindrical object. As she removed the cover, she saw a grey pony with wings and a horn floating in green liquid. She looked closely at the pony she just discovered and saw that it also had a black mane. She figured it was the project that Akayreuel was creating. As she did a magical analysis of the stallion, she noticed it held much magical force in this being. She walked back to the book and took the lock of hair that was inserted into the back cover. She then focused carefully and inserted her father’s DNA into the pony. The pony’s mane changed into a dark bluish-tint with a gray-tinted stripe in the center.
Day 1 - Princess Celestia
I shall continue with my father’s work. It saddens me that my father tried hard to bring this being to life, so I, Princess Celestia, shall continue my father’s project. I shall call it Project ARC after the initials of my father went by.
-Some Time After Nightmare Moon’s Second Defeat-
Project ARC was soon ignored a year after being worked on. No matter what Princess Celestia did, she could never get him to awaken. She then decided to put away the project and continue her duties of being a Princess. She worked with a student with the same lavender-tint that of her father body color. She also enjoyed how well her student worked and how strong her magic was. She knew that the Elements of Harmony must be passed down, so she looked for a pony that could fit each Element. Twilight Sparkle, her student, could take the Element of Magic because she had the magical capability to do so. Princess Celestia brought Twilight to Ponyville where she found five other ponies that could wield the Elements and become friends and bring back her sister, Princess Luna.
With Princess Luna being back with her sister, Luna still had many things to adjust to. It has been over one-thousand years since Princess Celestia sent her to the moon.
“Good morning Princess Luna!” Celestia cheerfully welcomed as she walked into Luna’s room. As Celestia walked into the room, Celestia got a pillow to her face.
“Five more minutes Sister.” Luna groaned as she dug her face into the sheets of the bed.
Celestia chuckled and walked over to Luna. “Sister, are you still tired? You only rose the moon ten hours ago.”
Luna muffled in her bed something inaudible to Celestia. “Can’t hear you Luna.” Luna spoke a little louder but still enshrouded in her bed. Celestia knew more than one way to get her sister out of bed. “Alright, since the moon made my sister lazy, I guess I’ll just take all the blueberry muffins myself!”
In a flash, Luna jumped out of bed and bolted to the kitchen. Celestia laughed and ran after Luna. When she entered the kitchen, Luna sat in her chair biting into a blueberry muffin. “Sister, there are so many! Where doth thou inquire so much?”
Celestia sat next to Luna. “Plantation has became better over the years." Celestia smiled and added, "I’m glad to see that you are excited this morning!”
Luna smiled. After a few bites out of her muffin, Luna then questioned, “Pray tell, how wast thou able to move both your sun and my moon?”
Celestia grinned. “You really want me to tell this story again Luna?”
Luna looked at Celestia with her large cyan eyes. Celestia looked for a while in her fixed stare before sighing while smiling. “Only you can pull off that pout Sister. Okay, you win.” Luna smiled and relaxed into her chair. “Well, after you were transported to the moon, I had many struggles to keep the sun in motion. So when you left the moon, I struggled even more as I had two giant orbs to move. So I gathered many unicorns to assist me in moving both the sun and the moon. I moved the sun while the other unicorns moved the moon. As time went on, I noticed that the unicorns that I assembled were quite tired, so I gathered other unicorns from many other places. As more and more ponies were found and replaced, I found that none of the unicorns could seek to moving the moon nightly. So I decided to move both the moon and sun to ease the others. The strain was increasingly difficult at first, but as I got older it came easy to me. So I allowed all unicorns to rest knowing how difficult it pained them. And then my dear sister came and-”
“I came to riseth the moon!” Luna interrupted.
Celestia laughed for seeing so much enthusiasm in her sister. Celestia smiled at the fact that her sister was increasingly excited this morning. It didn’t seem like Luna to be like this. As Celestia thought, she wondered why her sister was so charged with energy. Yesterday, Luna was all concealed, never even coming close to looking Celestia in the eye. Now her sister seemed to be just like a young filly. Luna saw Celestia’s concern and acted quickly. With a smile, Luna spoke, “Thou shant be concerned about my being. I returneth to my own place, so I am positively enthusiastic!” Luna verified her statement by smiling even more wide.
This really made Celestia confused. She thought for a moment. “Clearly you’re hiding something from me,” Celestia stated as she started eating her blueberry muffin.
Luna seemed to deflate when Celestia came to this conclusion. She then perked up again and spoke, “I canst hide it from you Sister. Let me explain." Celestia sat back as Luna continued. "I searcheth through the hallways down on the lowest floor. On the furthest door, I foundest our father’s research room!” Celestia coughed as she choked on a piece of her muffin she was eating. The guards rushed quickly but Celestia rose her hoof to say that she was fine. She swallowed some water while Luna continued. “And I foundeth a book on the desk! It hath the title Project ARC!”
Celestia spit her water out and coughed again. Her guards came rushing again but Celestia rose a hoof saying she was fine again. After clearing her throat, she decided to question. “Where in Faust’s sake did you ever find that!?” Luna opened her mouth to answer, but Celestia continued. “Let me correct myself. What compelled you to look in the lower corridors?”
Luna answered sincerely. “I wast curious. Is that a problem?”
Celestia responded. “Sister, that place is forbidden even to me. I shall not..." Celestia paused. "Wait... Were you reading that book in the night?”
Luna nodded. “I readeth until it endeth. Thou wast never finished with the project,” Luna added.
“Because I never intended the project to ever proceed!” Celestia exclaimed. “I could not even awaken him! And besides, isn't it crazy to work on bringing up life?”
Luna thought for a second. She then smiled. “Let myself be crazy then. It shalt be my turn to attempteth to waken him.”
Celestia sighed as she knew she couldn’t turn the head of her sister. Luna then finished her breakfast and started working.
Day 1 - Luna
My sister alloweth me the privilege to workest on this Project ARC that she starteth work on. I shalt complete this for my dear sister for saveth me. Even if she doest not believeth the project can be brought back to life, I will doeth this for my beloved sister. I needeth a way to bringeth him to life though. So that wilt be my newest task to worketh on.
-Before Discord’s Arrival-
Princess Luna sat staring at Project ARC as she wondered how to bring him to life. She paced back and forth and grunted. “This shalt be the most impossible thing that my sister worketh on! No wonder she quiteth!” Luna shook her head. “No, I shant give in to giving up! I will finish Arc!” She kept looking at the possibilities as she kept walking around. Luna named Project ARC after the project name since it was easier for her to be connected. “Don’t worry Arc, I will finish you.”
-Discord’s Arrival-
“So long... No voices have I heard... Neither have I seen anything... A lonely dark world... How long has it been? It feels like it’s been over one-million years... So... Empty... Wait. What is that? I hear something... Hear... I hear something! I... I can hear! But... Who is it? What is it? Oh, never have I felt so excited! I... I can’t hear it clearly though...”
Princess Luna turned to Princess Celestia. “Listen thou Sister, hast I not been doing this for thyself?”
Celestia glared at Luna. “You have been in here for far too long Sister! If ‘thou’ would be so kind, you need to see the world instead of being locked in such a small room looking at papers and this Project!” Celestia knocked at the glass roughly startling Luna a bit.
“Gentle Sister! You may breakest the glass!” Luna whined.
Celestia frowned at Luna. “If you keep going like this, you may become-”
A tapping interrupted. Celestia looked around searching for where the noise came from. “Look!” Luna pointed to the glass. In the glass, Arc seemed to be moving around. Luna and Celestia looked closer until a crack was heard. Luna and Celestia backed away as the glass broke. Arc then started growing into an enormous size, barely touching the top of the ceiling. Both Celestia and Luna continued to backed away as they watched their project grow.
A laughter emanated from behind the project. “Beautiful, isn’t it?”
Luna and Celestia looked around. Luna turned to Celestia and spoke. “Get the Elements of Harmony.”
Celestia faced her sister. Her serious look told her enough. As if by command, Celestia ran off quickly while Luna stayed behind.
Luna then faced Arc as the project breathed slowly. “Discord!” Luna yelled out. “Thou shalt return Arc to his normal self!”
Another laughter rang through the room. “Oh, how cute. You gave this thing a name.”
“Sh-Shut it!” Luna returned with a less certain voice. She recovered her bravado and howled, “You shalt return Arc before I force you to!”
“Aw, what fun is there in simply giving it back?” Discord appear in front of Arc. “This little project that your father made has been asleep for long enough. With my power, I gave it life, something you ponies couldn’t do.” Discord transported away. “I'll make a deal. If you defeat ‘Arc’, then maybe I’ll allow it to continue living. Or not.” With a final laugh, Arc grew fangs and claws from his body. Spikes grew out of Arc's back as Arc started snarling. Luna gulped as she watched Arc grow demonically.
“What is happening to me? I-I can’t control myself! Wait, I can see... a blue pony? She’s seems so much in fear. Am... I the one being feared? Wait, stop me! Don’t attack!”
Arc rose to his feet and snapped his eyes open. As soon as he saw Luna, he gave a large roar that blew Luna back a few trots. Arc then began attacking with a slash from his front-hoof claws. Luna flew away quickly, avoiding the attack and started wrapping Arc in her dark magic. As Luna continued wrapping around, Arc struggled and soon broke the stream of darkness. As if he was a hungry lion, he attempted to bite Luna as she flew upwards to evade. Luna then flew around the head of Arc and rammed her horn into Arc’s side. Luna pulled back instantly as Arc howled in pain. Arc anger started growing and slammed Luna down with his sharp wing. Luna grunted as Arc pinned down Luna with his hoof. Luna closed her eyes as she awaited the next attack.
“I m-must regain my body... I will regain my body!”
Arc eased pinning on Princess Luna and started walking backwards. Luna stood up and saw Arc stepping away.
“My body belongs to me! Nobody else! Especially that devil Discord!!”
Arc howled once again and fell down. Arc started transforming back to normal size of an young adult stallion. Luna stood up slowly to make sure that Arc wouldn't surprise her with another attack. After carefully watching that Arc wouldn't be attacking, Luna sighed and started running toward where Celestia ran. She then stopped and fell over as the darkness rose from her.
“Must... Wake up... Must... Help this pony...”
-Some Time Later-
“Nn-nrg...” Arc slowly stood up. He looked around and smiled, but then became worried. “Wh-Where is that blue pony? A-And that other white pony?" He then decided. "I got to help them!” Arc started running blindly through the halls searching for the two ponies he saw before. He finally arrived to a field where it seemed destroyed as he found two ponies; the two ponies he looked for. As he approached them, they both were extremely injured. Arc ran quickly to their sides to see if either of them were alive.
“G-Guard... Protect the Elements...”
Arc looked towards Celestia. He walked to her and looked over her.
Slowly speaking, Celestia weakly spoke, “Worry nothing about me guards... You need to... Protect the Elements...”
“I... I don’t know anything about these Elements...” Arc responded. “I’m not a guard either... Or at least I don’t think so.” Arc looked about himself. “All I know is that I’m here to help you out.”
Celestia tried to look up but was too weak to do so. “Whoever you are, you... You can help me out. I need to help someone... Discord says that she’s weakening... And I need to help her somehow...”
“I see... And how will you help her?” Arc questioned.
Celestia tried motioning with her hoof but her arm was feeble. She then spoke, “Help me... To my room... I need help getting to my room.”
Arc picked up Celestia and started carrying her. After a while of traveling around searching for her room, Celestia pointed to an open door. “There. Take me in there...”
Arc entered the room and set Celestia on her bedside. Celestia then used her magic to pull out scrolls. Arc watched the spell in awe as the letters slowly levitated towards Celestia. Soon, Celestia started making scrolls disappear into thin air. Arc looked back and forth at Celestia and the disappearing scrolls. “How are you doing that?”
Celestia didn’t respond. Instead, she focused on making the scrolls disappear. To Arc, it looked like Celestia was using much of her power. Celestia looked at Arc after making a few scrolls disappear and seemed to observe him. After a while of Celestia looking over Arc, she finally spoke. “You seem like a unicorn that can help. Please, assist me with sending these letters to my student.”
Arc just blankly stared at Celestia. Celestia spoke up again. “Don’t tell me that you haven’t used magic before?”
Arc gasped. “Wait, I can do magic?” Celestia groaned. “Uh... Did I say something wrong?”
Celestia motioned Arc closer to her. Arc walked up to Celestia in which Celestia touched Arc’s horn with her own. A bright light emanated through the room for a moment before the light faded. Arc wondered what happened as he soon had knowledge of how to use the spell that Celestia was using. Arc looked at the scrolls and started transporting them away.
“Pack your things, Spike, we're leaving.”
A purple dragon groaned as he laid in a small basket with a blanket and pillows. A gray-lavender furred pony walked around while levitating many items into a suitcase. “Don't ask where we're going, ‘cause I don't know yet. Just not here.” Twilight seemed to sigh the last sentence in depression as she continued packing.
Spike turned in his bed as he kept moaning. “Can't...move. The princess...has been sending these...since I came back upstairs.” Spike then belched fire that made form into a letter. Spike complained, “Make it stop!”
Twilight turned to the letters scattered across the room. “These are all the letters I've written to the princess since I've lived in Ponyville.” Twilight then questioned, “But why would she send them back?”
Twilight decided to start reading what the princess returned to her as Spike continued to moan.
“That should be enough,” Celestia motioned as she slowly got out of her bed. Arc ran up next to her to support, but Celestia brushed Arc away and slowly stood. Celestia looked at Arc once more and gawked if she was dreaming. She blinked several times and rubbed her eyes on the back of her hoof and continued to stare at Arc. Celestia finally called out, “Project ARC? Is that... Actually you?”
Arc tilted his head a little to show his confusion. Celestia walked around Arc while observing him. “But... How? This isn’t possible. This isn’t probable! How are you alive? Out of everything I did... Luna? Could have she...” Celestia trailed off to her own thoughts. Arc just looked at Celestia as she continued blankly staring. She shook her head. “Uh, Arc. If you mind being called that.”
Arc nodded. “I don’t know who I am, so sure! I’ll go by the name of Arc!”
Celestia nodded. “Arc, I must tend to helping my dear student. If you can, please watch over my sister. She is in dire pain after our fight.”
Arc gasped. “You fought with your own sister!?”
Celestia sighed. “It was the work of Discord. He used his magic of disharmony to transform my poor sister into the evil Nightmare Moon. I hope that if Discord is defeated by my student, Luna will be restored back into her normal self.”
Arc pondered a bit. “Your student... You said that you wanted to help her, but you said she also can defeat Discord.” Celestia nodded. “But can’t you trust your student enough to defeat Discord alone?”
Celestia shook her head. “My student does not know how to bring back her friends from being effected by the power of Discord. I must send the message somehow...”
Arc smiled. “If she’s your student, wouldn’t she have already thought about how to bring her friends back to normal? And anyways, you’re way too weak to even keep yourself on your own hooves.” Celestia looked down to accept her weakness. “C’mon, trust that everything will be alright.”
Celestia smiled. “You’re more trusting in my student than I am, and you know nothing about her.”
Arc nodded. “Something tells me she’ll be fine without your help. I think your sister needs more help than your student.”
Celestia started walking out of her room and nearly collapsed. Arc swooped underneath her extended wing and stood tall to support Celestia. Celestia silently spoke, “You have given me hope; something I was forgetting about. Thank you Arc.”
Arc beamed a grateful smile and pressed forward with Celestia to help with Princess Luna. When arriving to the previous place with Luna, Celestia gasped and motioned Arc to quickly go to Luna.
When Celestia reached Luna, Celestia fell from Arc’s support and hugged her sister tightly. “Dear Sister, I am so glad you are okay!”
Luna grunted as Celestia hugged her. She got up onto where she could sit straight. “Thou shant be too worried. I never stopped the fight in myself to regain myself Sister.” Luna hugged Celestia as tears flowed down both Luna’s and Celestia’s eyes.
“Bleh, how disgusting.” Discord appeared in front of the hall where a door seemed to be opened. “Your ‘sister’ bond has gone way out of hand.”
Celestia stood quickly and stuttered a little. When standing upright, Celestia glared at Discord. “Discord. I remember when I could actually call you friend. When we adventured together! When me, you and Luna were young! Where did our previous friend go!?”
Discord chuckled. “We were young and foolish. I still can’t believe after all that, you still think of our simpler days.” Discord transported next to Celestia and Luna. “And anyways, there is no hope for you now. Your little Element Wielders are now my personal discorded masterpieces!” Discord laughed and transported over to Arc. Discord picked up Arc and held him in front of Celestia and Luna. “And to think that this thing was created to defeat me? Oh, how amusing! I should just destroy this thing off!”
“Destroy me off!?” Arc screamed unintentionally. “I just received life and you want to kill me like that!?”
Discord chuckled. “This-this project even has feelings!” Discord laughed while dropping to the ground, dropping Arc and letting him fall to his side. “Oh, this is too good!”
Arc quickly landed on his hooves. “Even if I am, I’m still a breathing pony. You wouldn’t destroy a pony, would you?”
Discord continued chuckling as he spoke. “Oh, you know nothing about the past either. Let me teach you then.” He transported over on top of Celestia and Luna. “I’m Discord, spirit of chaos and disharmony. I don’t care if a few ponies are killed off.” Discord then disappeared and became a painting on a window. “You see, this is one of the many ponies that I killed off.” Discord pointed to a painting of Akayreuel Ciro. “He was the leader of Equestria before these two came into charge.” He then pointed to a painting of Princess Celestia and Princess Luna. “A weakling this pony was to stand in my way.” Discord then changed the picture of Akayreuel Ciro into a replica of the gravestone that was similar to his own. “What a shame, he could have been a coward just like the others, but then I came to-”
“SILENCE!” Luna screamed loudly. “YOU DARE-”
Arc put a hoof on Luna which caused Luna to calm a little. Arc stepped towards where Discord was playing with the painting of Luna. “Listen Discord, there are some problems with your chaos though.”
Discord looked over at Arc questionably. “Oh? And what makes you think that my chaos has flaws?”
Arc thought for a second. “Well... If you are the spirit of disharmony, shouldn’t you kill off the biggest threat?”
Discord cackled insanely. “Oh, you-you really think that I wouldn’t allow myself to defeat the biggest threat?" Discord laughed again. "I finished them off alright, and they are now of my own.”
Celestia stared in disbelief of what Arc was doing. “Well, they might come back and attack you again. You’ll not be laughing when you are defeated.”
Discord flew out of the painting and wrapped his snake tail around Arc. “You really believe that the ponies I defeated will come and defeat me?”
Arc stared at Discord. “Of course. They are the Elements of Harmony. And anyways, there’s no purpose for you to be here since I don’t know how to use my powers and it may take me maybe an eternity to figure it out. And these two aren’t a threat to you at all since they don’t wield the Elements.”
Discord scoffed as Arc kept staring at Discord. Discord thought for a moment and smiled. “I just had a brilliant idea! I will expand my capital of Chaos all the way to this point!” With a laugh, Discord disappeared.
Celestia walked up to Arc and stared Arc in the eye. “What have you done Arc!? You put all of Equestria in disaster!”
Arc sighed. “I know... I just couldn’t think of anything-”
Luna stood in front of Arc. “So thou puteth the Elements of Harmony in trouble for our sakes!?”
Arc whimpered. “I’m sorry...”
Celestia groaned. “Sister, we must find a way to wield the Elements again.”
Luna nodded. “Of course. Let us go thou Sister.”
Celestia and Luna then ran off leaving Arc in the hallway. Arc stared at the painting that Discord changed. Arc fell down and muttered to himself, “I’m a fool...”
Celestia and Luna looked around the library searching for another way to defeat Discord. Both Celestia and Luna were drained of magic to transport themselves to warn Twilight and her friends directly, so Celestia and Luna had to find another way to contact them. Arc entered the room slowly and silently. Celestia and Luna glared at Arc for a little bit before returning to their search. Arc looked down and sat in a corner as he watched Celestia and Luna run around the library frantically.
“Maybe thou searchest in the wrong spots Sister!” Luna spoke as she skimmed the book she levitated.
“Don’t draw conclusions yet Luna! We still haven’t searched every place yet!” Celestia walked in front of Arc and tapped her hoof. Arc sighed and slowly walked away. He walked out of the room and trotted around the hallways. He looked back and forward until he saw an unusual place. He stopped and looked at the interesting place he spotted. After a while of sight-seeing, he sighed as he know that the place he look out to was the work of Discord. He lowered his head away and continued walking. Arc stopped as he looked at the city from the corner of his eye. He returned back to his spot and watched as a colorful orb seemed to increase round about the city he saw before. When the rainbow orb faded, he looked at the new city he just saw recover in front of his eyes. Arc eyes widened as he witnessed something completely unusual. He ran to get Celestia and Luna to share what he saw.
Arc ran into the library and ran towards Celestia. “Hey! You wouldn’t believe what I just saw! It’s-”
“Not now Arc,” Celestia replied as she continued reading.
“But if you just see what has changed-”
"Arc, you puttest us in danger and now thou wantest to bother us?" Luna called from her corner.
"But..."
"Arc, leave. Now." Celestia spoke with a cold voice.
"Fine... But if you were to-"
Arc was interrupted as a loud noise passed through the castle. Arc, Luna and Celestia each squeaked when the sonic blast of an explosion passed by. When the sound passed, they all walked out of the library to look around. Celestia broke the silence saying, “They did it.”
Luna and Arc both looked at Celestia. Celestia smiled and seemed at peace. Before Arc had the chance, Luna asked, “Who didst what?”
Celestia embraced both Arc and Luna in a grand hug. “They defeated Discord! The Elements of Harmony defeated Discord once again! Equestria is once again safe from the Spirit of Chaos!”
Luna and Arc smiled to each other and joined in with Celestia in laughter and joy as they celebrated their victory.
Arc watched as Luna, Celestia and her many guards set up banners and ribbons. Arc felt pleased that Discord was defeated, but felt weakened for reasons unknown to him. Arc didn’t mind though as he saw Celestia and Luna extremely happy. “It’s strange really,” Arc thought to himself. “Why does it make me smile when seeing both these two happy? I don’t even know their names lest know who they truly are.” Arc started walking away from the celebration as he pondered to himself. “Maybe it’s because of my project code or something. I wonder why I was created though. Maybe I should... Should...” Before Arc could finish his thought, he collapsed to the ground and fainted.
Luna was the first to noticed and rushed over to Arc as quick as she could. “Arc? Thou shalt not fall to sleep all a sudden...” Luna then realized something. She thought to herself, “Could this be because Discord was defeated? Now Arc back to... His original state?” Luna thought for a moment and sighed. "Thou hast done well Project Arc..." She picked up Arc and started walking away.
“Sister, where are you going?” Celestia landed behind her as Luna turned around. Celestia noticed Arc and immediately looked worried. “What happened to him?”
“Discord wast defeated, so Project ARC is back to... normality, I supposeth.”
Celestia sighed. “He was alive, and now he’s back to... This.” Celestia pointed to a limp Arc. "This is quite unfair, but I guess he ran off the power Discord gave him."
“Sister, we shall makest sure that Arc is placed in his original resting place.” Luna turned and walked away.
Celestia looked down. “Arc... Why couldn't I have trusted you more?”
Luna brushed off the sweat that built on her forehead as she observed the new holding place in which Arc would rest. Luna carefully placed Arc in the container and closed the casing.
“Resteth in peace, Arc.” Luna then walked away with no other word.
