"Sonic!!" A voice rang out across the area. A certain blue hedgehog turned on his heels to see a small, bipedal yellow fox running towards him, looking very concerned from the look of his face.
Sonic rose his hands in front of himself, "Whoa Tails, slow down," he said as the fox stopped in front of him. He let Tails catch his breath before talking again, "What's goin on Tails?"
Tails took in one more breath before replying, "Remember that shift that the master emerald caused? Well, the readings appeared again, this time much stronger." He caught his breath again. "It's in this valley!" Tails finally finished catching his breath and was looking for a response from Sonic. He looked like he was processing something before he finished thinking.
"Well, I think it's best I investigate this and solve this mystery. It shouldn't be much of a problem," he finally decided out loud. He turned his attention back to Tails, who was still looking between him and a small device. "How's about you get back to the base, and keep monitoring the area, and I'll go investigate."
"Sure thing, Sonic! We can keep in touch with these headsets," he pulled out two earpieces, and handed one to Sonic. "I'lll check in once I get back to base." Sonic gave him a thumbs up and sped off into the valley, leaving a blue trail behind him.
It was about an hour and a half later when Tails finally checked in, but he never got a response. All he heard was static. "Sonic? Sonic!?". Still, he didn't receive a response. "What happened?"
Around an hour after he and Tails had last talked, Sonic found himself at a dead end. He was about to turn around and find another way, but then he saw something shine in the distance. He walked over to it and brushed away some of the shrubs. It was a chaos emerald. Sonic was completely puzzled. What was a chaos emerald doing here? He was about to radio Tails when something happened. The emerald seemed normal at first, but then it began to distort itself. Sonic tried to let go of it, but it was stuck to his hand. A dark portal like cloud thing began to form around him. It began redirecting gravity, sucking Sonic in with it. He tried to run off, but it pulled him in, then everything went dark.
Sonic cracked open an eye and arched his back of the ground. His head was in splitting pain. Rubbing it, he looked around at the field he was in. "Where am I?"
The black flag flew gracefully in the picking Caribbean wind. The sea spray was flying up the side of the ship, and that's what the sailors liked. A few of them were talking about their past lives, drinking alcohol while at it. They were done for the day, and where just enjoying the sea. Among them was Captain Edward Kenway, the newly trained master assassin. He held a bottle of alcohol himself, and was talking to one of his crew when Aldwale' showed up, his arms crossed as usual. Edward turned to him with his casual face, "Ah, Aldewale'! How are things looking for docking in two days?"
"A lot of the crew is noticing a squall up ahead. They say it looks to be pretty strong." He glanced back over the side of the Jackdaw. "What do you suppose we do?"
Edward thought for a moment, "Is it hurricane force, or just a thunderstorm?"
"It looks to be nowhere near hurricane force."
"Then we sail through," was his reply. That was a mistake.
About two hours later, Edward woke up to the rocking of his ship and the crack of thunder. He heard shouting above deck and was confused. He jogged out of the captain's quarters and was met with lots of chaos.
"Lower the sails!" He heard a familiar voice command. Edward was about to run over to the other side of the ship when a bright flash of lightning struck the boat. Something erupted from below deck and exploded the ship into pieces. As if on queue, a huge water-spout formed over the piece of floating wood Edward was on. Instinctively, he tried to swim away, but was quickly pulled back into the twister, then everything went black.
Edward opened his eyes to a blinding light and immediately turned over and threw up his stomach. He finally regained his senses after a minute and looked around. "This isn't Havana..."
"Chief," a female voice called out among the Forward Unto Dawn, pleading for help. "Chief! Wake up!" The heating process began in the cryo tube, and John's heart began to slowly pump, sending blood where it needed to. Cortana was waking Chief, so something was wrong. Soon, John could feel himself waking up. He shook his head as he finally realized what was going on. He shoved open the cryo tube and the steam rolled out of it.
"Cortana, what's wrong?" John's deep voice asked the A.I., who was looking more relieved, but still concerned. He trapped an assault rifle of a wall, and attached it to his back.
"Chief, I've been getting some strange readings in the space here. It's very strange and-" a warning alert flawed in front of the screen, "It's getting close!"
"Don't worry, I'll go check this out." Chief trapped the chip and put it into his helmet. He attached a booster pack and pushed it off towards the front of the ship, where he knew the hole was. What he found out wasn't nice. In front of the frigate was a forerunner like portal, sucking the ship in. Chief knew he wouldn't be able to reach the escape pods in time, but he still ran because Cortana had cut out. He ran for a mere two minutes before he felt the gravity change, knowing the portal had swallowed them, then everything went dark.
Chief's visor slowly flashed to life as his automatic body repair took motion. He slowly lifted his body onto he feet and noted that he was on the cliff of a mountain. "Where did we get teleported?" His deep voice asked himself.
Discord sat sulking on his throne. He was finally free, but didn't have all of his powers back. When you're the god of chaos, you like having those powers. He knew he would get them back soon, and he would start planning revenge. Something clicked in his mind and he forced the wall into a three way screen. One the left screen was a blue hedgehog with tennis shoes. In the middle was a white and blue cloaked creature, scratching its head. On the left was another creature much like the one in the middle, but bigger, and was wearing a full suit of armor. Discord didn't recognize these creatures, but he knew, somehow, that they would interfere. He clenched his claw and slammed it into the armrest of his throne. Nothing would stop his plans.
