Prolouge: Portal of ancient?
Prolouge: Portal of ancient?
------------------------------------------------The End Portal, is just the beginning---------------------------------------
For long have I lived in this world, respawning and trying again for when I lost my items, concentrating my alchemy and mastering nuclear science but never have I seen such creatures in my life whose are filled with love and innocence but evil, always creeps from behind just when it’s a life saver. Let’s start from the beginning:
Back then in the dark ages, my name was Albert, I originally was a human. My role was studying at the University. I normally sat on my computer playing Team Fortress 2, Garry’s mod, hell I played Terraria for what seems like decades but what got me the most was Minecraft.
Creativity, endless worlds, you should at least know what you mostly do in it due to the title.
I played Minecraft for quite a while, due to it being addictive in its own ways. I would normally play minigames or survival servers as they are the best types. Let’s just say that back then, I would get bored of me getting Protection IV diamond armour with a sharpness IV diamond sword (axe if it’s MMCMO) and just arming myself with 100 god apples, ready to battle anyone that wanted to challenge my wrath. Instead, I took the different approach…
Mods came to my life, Tekkit, Feed the beast (and the complicated but challenging GregTech), and much more. Let’s just say that I was more of a mechanic type than a fighter in Tekkit/FTB, as I can own entire factories made with my limited brain but always had to work for my Uni projects as I did not get the time to do such amazing things ever again, but I would always say yes to be extra defended from nukes and players armed in Quantum. Oh the days, now long rotten away and just an old memory from a tangled up dream, a dream that soon turned to a nightmare and then to... entertainment.
An unexplainable event has happened that changed my personality, and what I was forever.
You know the stories about people going missing and such? Well some say that they died from an unknown… phenomenon which could not possibly be a disease due to them being perfectly healthy from their latest health check and if that’s true, then I bet you all my red matter that my old corpse is back there rotting (too bad I am not on the planet known as Earth anymore), and the people wondering how I died. Well the most likely answer I would give personally is that they got transported to their own dream world or another universe from the countless universes in this multi-verse. Gah, even my speech is becoming non-existent from all I am saying since I do not think that I will experience the same learning as I did once back at my university as a human.
So I just woke up, gone downstairs and ate breakfast, normal egg and bacon. Soon enough I felt like vomiting and then, I just fell unconscious to the ground like a doll.
It was horrible, it was like I did not have a body anymore and I was dead, except that I was not, but I was, but… GAH! WHATEVER! Anyway, soon enough, I felt my body reforming to a more, compact design but not as complex as my human body. It also took ages for me to awake from my slumber which felt like it took 100 years, and trust me, it was not pretty. I did not know how I looked like until I saw a bright flash of light and me, laying on the grassy block like floor. “What in the name of Jesus?” were my first words to go through this brand new world.
I could not believe it! I was in the world of Minecraft as… well humans know it! I still could feel everything and sense and breathe but the air felt a little plainer than Earth’s, but oh well. It was impossible for something like this to happen unless, I got transported to another universe which is highly likely, since all of the cubes are a perfect 1 metre in length, width and height (Normally on Earth, dirt would just fall or turn irregular).
“Oh god, I hope this world has mods,” I thought in a worried expression, and soon after finding a rubber tree, it did have mods! Surprising that freedom came with quiet a lot of advantages.
And so, since this place was made of cubes, I followed the basic principles of what I was supposed to do in Minecraft; to become what I am right now; a fully decked out block person with the most finest and complex items which I could acquire. It took a lot longer than it did in the actual game since 10 minutes were... well 12 hours so it followed the same day and night length principle of Earth, so it still takes 24 hours of day and night (Thanks to notch, I got a Watch of flowing time which speeds up the time at the cost of millions of EMC, strange how things got nerfed in this universe). I still wonder how this came with mods but… I am not going to argue since it made it being in this world a lot more interesting.
I also took a look at my reflection in the blocky waters near a lake, surprising that this world even has reflections since Minecraft is an 8-bit computer game with fairly low graphics and no shaders mod.
I seemed to be 1.9 metres tall; and had a long, orange shirt on me with cyan blue pants and a cube on my shirt with brown shoes and a face similar to Steve but more tanned, brown hair and dark brown pixelated eyebrows. What blown my mind though is that I am like my character in Minecraft!
But the more I gazed, the more I realized that I was stranded, in a world were infinity is a true word but without anyblock to talk or find. If I was to survive as I had immortality, (due to the theory of me respawning limitlessly no matter what) I would need to get better armour, a better weapon, be the best and be painless. Nothing would stop me, or at least little would try to since there are the mobs to deal with (I once tried talking to them, the closest I got was to a Creeper who did not try to kill me, but try to communicate but it couldn't due to it not having the complex vocals like me. I let it live due to it not being aggressive as a reward). But no matter what armour I had or the power I was radiating, I will always get the feeling that I am being watched by a higher tier of power, a type that no person or block (or even a being) could imagine. So I think that I am not alone but I technically am, did someone live in this place and perished and all that remains is the ghost of him, trying to alert me to not fall for the trap that he once did? Many questions whiz through my mind as I try to comprehend what I am even asking.
But here is the most interesting part before I get to where I am right now.
So it was another normal day in the consecutive cycles of day and night, arming myself with the quantum charged from yesterday, focusing on one goal which has taken me forever, (due to condensers and collectors being somehow nerfed in this universe) finding the copper and tin in a cave.
I hate trying to dig for resources, unlike the PC Minecraft, in the real thing; it takes effort to dig even with a red morning star! It tires the fudge out of me and sometimes, I need to eat a cookie in order to get back in business. At least I can charge it up and knock a huge landmass but, it will consume a lot of EMC (Energy-Matter Currency) as almost everything is nerfed. Oh well, time to look for the cave I was talking about.
But surprise, surprise! The cave I came across is a stronghold… wait how? It is in the overworld and it is a stronghold, aren’t they supposed to be deeper? I was confused, I explored all 3 strongholds too but there apparently was another but, this one felt different, it was not the same as the rest.
Consumed by curiosity, I decided to take a look, despite the lack of resources which it offered… or so as I thought,
The entrance looked the same, but everything changed once I have gotten truly inside and seen the sparkling minerals, just waiting to be dug out. “Whoa, this place is filled with iron, copper, tin, heck even diamonds, platinum, cobalt, myth- wait, what am I saying?” I gotten confused for a second there, how did I know what those strange ores were? They look drastically familiar though…
I decide to collect some of it and they were spot on like I was saying, strange as I have never seen something like this before… Oh well, I will experiment with them once I fully explored the dungeon and I am back at my fully fortified house. I came across a few chests which contained strange items... they were like accessories but the name just wont show up.
But the funny thing is that I did not walk to the surface due to the suspicious room at the corner of my eye.
As I have taken a small glimpse behind the locked door, A portal room, very expectable in a dungeon; same portal blocks, fire and spawner, nothing strange with this one except that one little thing was off as I was about to continue off, collecting these strange ores and finding chests with more items.
The door, it was not made of iron but of an enchanted type. I noticed that it was made to block most of the detail of what it was truly inside due to it requiring a red matter key which to be honest, have gotten from a temple when I started from the beginning, I was wondering ever since on what the key was used for.
I unlocked it, pancakes happen next.
“Holy torpedo in the…” Was my reaction, trembling but also fascinated by this. The room, is no ordinary portal entrance area, it had messages scarred upon every wall of this place written in the galactic alphabet. I could make some words such as ‘Equestria’ and ‘two princesses ruled over this land’ and such but the rest; I still had a lot to learn on the galactic alphabet so I could not really recognise much apart from those two lines.
I continued into the room, I found that the portal blocks were not of any normal type but rather, had a design of its own with a staircase made of an unknown material leading to the top of were the end portal is supposed to be, except that it was not.
Instead of the space looking block liquid, it was a blue liquid in between the portals which seemed to… float but was actually below a block.
“Impossible,” I say in a shocked tone. The once life giving liquid on Earth, is on the planet of Minecraft. I could not believe it yet again! It has been thousands of years since I have seen liquid like this but, there is no curves or spheres in the world of Minecraft! I think that the liquid is a portal to the end, or another land for this instance due to it looking different.
I decide to focus on portal frames themselves, they had their own colour in some way, the colours were; red, yellow, green, cyan, pink and dark purple, all in their own order. I may never find out the meaning of this order but oh well, I can only guess. Right now I think red is fire, yellow is wind, green is nature, cyan is diamonds and the cold, pink is... well fun? That is the closest I can come to since I do not know any other proper element for pink and the dark purple is EMC / Magic. Oh well, if I somehow am correct then lucky me. I also found out that they are unbreakable, even with a red morning star (Which I find fairly darn strong due to me breaking bedrock once with the red morning star).
I take one last glimpse of the room, the sun and moon above my head without any pixels like most Minecraft pictures or blocks, writings written with the galactic alphabet with those two sentences still puzzling me and the portal blocks, the proper meaning of their symbols still unknown.
I decided that it is my move to make now, the memories of me entering the end, the memories of me having to kill innocent endermen in order to free them from their terrible master, and me remembering falling through the bedrock portal which took me to the overworld, it changed me from a monster who would kill without second thought, into a person who dislikes to kill and will only do it to defend themselves. I let the last air of Minecraft flow through me, as I begin to finally jump into the liquid, thinking it’s a portal and hoping it will not take me to a terrible place.
“Well, here goes nothin’,”
I feel myself levitating, going into the liquid and into an ocean – like experience. Then soon enough, blackout, I fell into a coma, similar to the one when I first arrived to this world.
This felt strange; it is not like the end portal where I would normally experience the cries of the endermen and the roar of the enderdragon but, more silent like I could hear the insides of me working and my heart beating without laying my ear on my chest. That, I did not experience'd when I first arrived in minecraft as it was filled with whispers which I couldn't really make out, it was like I was finally at peace and free from all the souls that attempted to kill me, it felt charming but… cold… like this isn’t by destiny…
Mid-way through it, I heard a voice say in a deep way “You have got yourself to a terrible fate haven’t you?” and then as mysteriously as it came, it was gone as it bounced around the box which I was somehow, in? I could not say a word and that annoyed me beyond anything else.
But if I was encased in a box, how can I even breathe? For that matter, how am I even still alive? That thought kept on bouncing in my blocky brain as right now, it was an even bigger question than 'what is the meaning of life?'
Though after those terrible 10 minutes, I woke up with the bright light flashing between my eyes, assuming that I got transported to another dimension, which I would say is not the end…
Chapter 1: The world beyond the shadows.
CHAPTER 1: The world beyond the shadows.
-----------------------------------------"To be honest, I regret everything."--------------------------------------------
I was falling, I was constantly falling, I couldn’t stop it with my swiftwolfs, it did not even do the usual failure sound when it fails, it just felt like I was constantly falling.
I hit the ground; I moaned due to the pain of it when I landed, it has been long since I received fall damage. Why didn’t my swiftwolfs negate the fall damage? Do I even have one right now? Oh wait I do, I felt it in one of my fingers, then why hasn’t it… never mind, probably the conflict between the portals and such.
Soon enough, I open my eye's to find light rushing in through the back of my eye's, trying to dominate all the dark spaces there was inside of it, it was bright and by that I mean too bright to be home. As my eyes quickly adapted to the light it was exposed to, I could see that I was in a dense forest but it does not look blocky.
“Where am I?” were my first words which echoed across this dense forest.
I was speechless; looking in a world filled with curves, I found that impossible but so real at the same time, I wonder if I can even break blocks right now.
My touch sense has also drastically improved as I can now feel the earth beneath me with greater texture; I almost enjoyed the feeling due to the Minecraft blocks being so plain, and me not sensing this at such levels since I was back on Earth. The air was a lot more complex and actually had a smell in this land, I wonder…
Oh well, lets not get too excited since this is like when I first arrived in the end (and thought that I was invincible with full dark matter like in the human game, how wrong was I) and thought that all I had to fight was the Enderdragon.
Thank god I still had my equi- oh bananas.
I looked over my artificial inventory which I am seeing with my eyes, to find the most annoying thing which could happen in the multi-verse itself...
“FUDGE! okay calm down, there probably is a lapotrol crystal to charge my quantum in one of my bags, otherwise I will poop.” I said worryingly in my mind, while grinding my teeth lightly in anger and confusion.
I never had my armour de-charged by this much, was it probably the interaction with the liquid that it almost sucked my armour’s energy dry? Or that voice?
I shall never know.
Thankfully though for my alchemy bags which are bigger in the inside that the outside, I have one fully charged lapotrol crystal but the problem is that I have 4 pieces of discharged armour, I will have to share it equally.
I quickly take it out of my alchemy bag since I do not know what to expect in this dimension and place it on the… rough landscape. It made a poof sound and the single, one metre rough landscape in width and length soon enough flattens to the Minecraft style of blocks and not the demonic curves.
I quickly insert my armour onto the charging bench along with the lapotrol crystal which I found conveniently in my alchemy bag.
"That should do!"
I got cold skin for a bit due to this world being familiar... But to what? "It looks cartoony and such but what could this world possibly be similar to?" That thought bounces through my head several times before I shake my head and focus back on the goal.
While my armour is charging due to my charging bench, I looked around to take a better view. Strangely enough, my magical ring (swiftwolfs) enabled me to fly without using EMC (Energy-Matter currency) which I found strange, could that mean that I can control the Stars using my watch of flowing time without the massive EMC usage? Could I cause entire hurricanes to be created as my evertide amulet had a limit due to the EMC I could store? The possibilities are endless, but I don’t want to mess with the planets mother nature just yet.
“Alright then, this is going to be interesting-” I let a gasp of air fill my lungs which was quiet comfortable apparently, “-and dangerous, god I love adventures with op stuff but it kind of ruins the fun.”
Looking back at my alchemical bag, I find a full set of emergency dark matter armour for when my armour is de-charged.
"Convenient"
I equipped the full set of dark matter armour and set a waypoint at my charging bench, then I started looking around to see my terrain.
The reason I did not have the upgraded armour from dark matter, is that I always keep my over powered magic items in my safe chest back at home for when I die (and also the alchemical bag drops with all the items inside it too, darn now I wish I was back to standard Tekkit classic), which now I wish that dark matter was the Gem one and had some of my op rings (ring of arcana and the life stone) with me right now, I will never make the same mistake again.
The first thing that I notice is that I have no way of going back to my world, which could mean that I am stuck here forever… no armour, no way back, just great.
The next thing I see is hills of great height, much greater than my world’s one and a lot of quietness and peace surrounding me as well. I only hope that the word “peace” is true in this place.
“Similar… and familiar,” I said as I aimlessly wandered around my spaw- err, warp zone, “I don’t recognise there being this many mobs and plants though as I see birds, bunnies, trees, bushes, and strangely enough, no hostiles.”
A world with no hostiles is usually a sign that no one has managed to get to this world yet or there is a civilisation nearby, can't tell which though.
Though, that slight confusion soon went to a grin, an evil one too, as I was thinking about having a little fun in this place as there is no one around (If there even would be a human or a blockyman around).
“How about I see what these mobs drop eh? It shouldn't hurt… much,” I said while I was grinning in an evil way, but before I could even lay my first red radiant blade onto the mobs of this land, I heard a voice say in my head,
“Move forward, one does not simply kill until you know what you are dealing with,” The voice warned in a shadowed way.
I felt an uncomfortable cold surge through by backbone, long has it been since I experienced one.
“WHO’S THERE?” I shouted in a threatening way.
No response…
I was confused, where did it go? There is a lot of unanswered questions laying on the floor but I just couldn't figure it out! Probably someblock in this place can tell me.
I decided to follow the voice too because it was somehow right, my final decision was to keep on exploring this place and see if it has anything to offer apart from killing a dozen of mobs.
I kept on going; there really was not much to see until…
Some wolves made of… wood came from the forest, barking and looking like a hungry lion that hasn’t been fed in months! They seemed fairly dangerous and surrounded me as more came from the forest. They were bigger than any Minecraftian wolves and seemed like they would deal more damage, the weird part is that they had no skin but just an exo-skeleton of wood. I slowly grab my glowing red sword charged to the maximum, preparing for an assault.
“Soo… can you talk?” I ask them, doubting that I can even get an answer from them.
All I got from them was barks, one unexpectedly leaped from behind, and tried to tear through my chest, but failed as it’s magical wooden teeth just cracked and fell, I let out a faint smile.
“I guess we have to do this the hard way!”
I unleashed a blast from my red katar, making a loud boom sound as the once wooden wolves took cover. I managed to turn about seventy percent of them to wood dust from the blast but the rest, are twigs and logs of wood lying on the floor. They soon enough recover and manage to fit back to the perfect shape on how the wolves were just a moment ago but only the thirty percent of it.
“Ready for another match? I will surely make it ‘hot’ this time,” I say in a confident voice, the wooden wolves now kind of frightened at what I am going to do next, I think I heard one whimper too!
I pulled out my ring of ignition, and stared firing it at the remaining wolves, slowly burning them to ashes. The cries of the wolves reminded me of my past self and felt a little guilty of myself.
The battle is over, I was victorious and the wooden wolves (sadly) were not.
“Well that was easier than I thought…” I thought to myself.
I moved along the ashy remains of the wolves, now blowing in the wind, trying to find a pathway of some sort even though I think that it will be impossible, due to there being only me in this world, or at least that shadowed block too.
“Hey, what’s this?” I thought about what I was seeing in front of me.
Horse marks? Wait what? What is this supposed to be exactly? I just found a dirt path it seems like, and I found horse shoe marks on the path, could there have probably been a human riding a horse to somewhere? I hope I am not in the 15th century on Earth time because that would be depressing… Oh well, might as well start following the path (and if this even is Earth, how are there magical wood wolves roaming around this place?) and hope I get lucky that I find civ-
“Cluck!” I heard a chicken right in front of me cluck in surprise.
“Well hey there! Are you another animal who can’t speak? Or are you like those mean wooden wolves?” I ask the chicken, expecting it to cluck like all chickens do but instead, it stays there and stares at me with those… red eyes?
“What is it trying to do?” I quietly ask myself, I take off my helmet to take a better look at it and… Oh dear, I quickly put it back on seeing the situation it’s trying to put me in, basically turn me to stone but my dark matter helmet somehow dispels that witchery, so I don’t get turned to stone. Soon enough it revealed that it had a serpent like body, well like a snake but a bit bigger! At least it’s a chicken so it cannot like bite my head off.
“Well cluck to you too! See yah,” I wave at the chicken, while walking away from it unharmed, pretending it to be some type of intelligent animal, as it just sat there with a confused expression.
Now, I follow the dirt path quickly so that no other mythical creature tries to kill or stun me, this forest reminds me of the parks back on my Earth, they were beautiful and well decorated. The old times, oh well at least I have op stuff now (I wonder if I should conquer this world like I did to minecraft... tee hee, I am an evil banana).
“Hey, I see light; let’s see what is outside this forest,”
I saw the light as I was walking along the dirt path, it seems fairly bright but not too bright to blind me at least, besides I wonder what is on the other side.
As I exit this forest, I find that it is literally dusk and the night is rising and the impossible happens too.
I gasp in utter shock as I find buildings which are not made by villagers and, look more of what a player would make.
“… What… the… notch?” I say in a confused and shocked tone.
At last, here I am, no longer alone as the world around me fills with opportunities and the horrors which I experienced back at my home on Earth. The first thing which comes upon my mind makes me want to badly take out my hyperknetic lens (magic weapon which can level entire continents) in one of my blocky palms but my gut says otherwise.
Move on! Look what is available! That was my gut feeling.
I wanted to reject it badly, since I would not want to risk my life if there are a ton of player’s armed with full red matter, but yet again, they could probably not be players due to the horse shoe in the dirt patch… but there is still a high possibility that this place has guards but what armed with? Ugh, soon enough curiosity wins the match and I move into the village.
“Ugh, guess I have no choice,” I say in a more saddened and frightened tone.
And here comes my stealthy movements, the night style…
