Twilight looked around where she was. It was a dark cave. She cast a spell to light the place. "Hello? Is anypony there?" She called pt, her voice echoing the cave. No reply. "Where am I?" She asked herself. She heard laughter, and turned to see not-Cadence projecting herself onto one of the rocks on the wall.

"The caves beneath Canterlot, once home to greedy unicorns who wanted to claim the gems that could be found inside. And now, your prison" she explained.

"Help! Help!" Twilight called out. No reply.

"It's no use. No one can hear you. And no one will ever think to look for you, either. Most ponies have forgotten that these caves even exist, which is why they are the ideal place to keep the ones who try to interfere with my plans".

"Plans? What plans?" Twilight asked.

"The plans I have for your brother, of course!" not-Cadence taunted.

"Don't you dare do anything to my brother, you... you monster!" Twilight yelled at her.

"Only way to stop me is to catch me!" she taunted Twilight as she kept on projecting herself onto different rocks. She ended up destroying one. Twilight was horrified at the sight she saw. A dead body... Princess Cadence's dead body. "No... please Celestial no..." She grieved over Cadence's dead body.

"I had to get rid of her somehow" not-Cadence said mockingly. Twilight turned to her.

"You... you... YOU BITCH!" Twilight screamed as she fired a large bolt of energy at the stone that not-Cadence was being projected at. She moved stones, laughing evilly.

"Such language from a pony who only cares about friendship and magic. Twilight just growled. She was not having any of her shit.

--EVA--

The ponies all took their seats as the traditional wedding music started playing. "Fillies and gentlecolts" Princess Celestia started. "We are gathered here today to witness the union of Princess Mi Amore Cadenza and Shining Armor".

"That's good. Because we've already bonded so much since he's under my spell" not-Cadence said. All the ponies, including Celestia, gasped.

"Chrystalis" Celestia cringed. Suddenly, not-Cadence glowed a bright green, as she transformed into her changeling self, Queen Chrystalis. "Right you are, Princess. And as queen of the changelings, it's up to me to find food for my subjects. Equestria has more love than any place I've ever encountered. Now, dear husband, lower those shields for me, please?". Shining Armor's horn glowed and the barrier that protected them was gone.

"What about the real Cadence?" Princess Celestia asked angrily.

"Oh, you'll all se her...in the afterlife!" Chrystalis laughed evilly. "Now, attack!".

--EVA--

Twilight watched the events unfold right in front of her eyes. Minutes later, the castle was in ruins. She watched as millions of ponies, including her friends, die. Then she remembered something. Something from long ago...

--Flashback--

"Ugh! Why won't anypony listen to me! Nightmare Moon's return is inevidable! Why, at a time like this, do I have to make friends?" Twilight angrily stomped around the sky-taxi station.

"Come on, Twilight. It's not that bad. I mean what if..." Spike's words trailed off as Twilight noticed somepony staring at her. She was a mare. She had a pale pink mane and a yellow coat. Twilight couldn't make out her eye colour or her cutie mark. "Twilight?" Twilight snapped back into reality. She turned to Spike. "Yeah?".

"What were you staring at?" Spike asked.

"There was a mare stating at..." as Twilight turned back to where she saw the mare, she noticed the mare was gone.

"What mare?" Spike asked.

"Never mind. Let's go" they both got onto the sky-taxi and flew off.

Wen Twilight snapped back to reality she noticed that Canterlot had fallen. Everypony was dead. Changelings walked the streets. Then she heard a voice. Celestia's voice. "Do it Twilight. Do it" it was a sentence said in pain. Twilight knew what she was talking about. As she charged up the previously forbidden spell, she started crying. In order to stop the changelings, she had to sacrifice everypony that was still alive. She activated the spell, and all went black.

--EVA--

Celestia looked over the barren wasteland that was once Equestria. Her student, Twilight Spakrle, had sacrificed herself and all ponies still alive to stop the changelings. Celestia's sister, Luna, landed next to her. "So, it has happened" she said.

"The First Impact" Celestia replied.

"Are you sure it had to end like this?"

"It's how our Equestria's times stream ends" Celestia's horn started to glow.

"What are you doing?" Luna asked.

"Sending an image back to Twilight's past, reminding her of what's important in life" Celestia replied. Luna nodded her head, and watched Equestria's last sunset.

At least, this Equestria.

Twilight Sparkle had just gotten a letter from PONI, her mentor, Commander Celestia's organisation. It read as follows:

Dear Twilight Sparkle,

We have received word that an entity known as "Nightmare Moon" is approaching Canterlot. Your astistance for our latest experiment is required.

Commander Celestia

"Alright Spike, looks like we're moving out" Twilight said. Her roommate, Spike, a teenage wingless dragon, walked out of the shower with a towel. " What this time?" He asked.

"An experiment to help fight something known as 'Nightmare Moon'" Twilight replied. Spike went into his room, and came out seconds later with clothes and safety glasses on. "Are those required?" Spike nodded. Twilight groaned, and they both went out the door. Twilight heard rumours about this new experiment. It was something about giant robots. It had a weird name to.

Evangelion.
