I saw birds today. I also found this. A red loose spring nearly ripped apart journal. I don't know who had it before me but, I'm sure they're dead. If not than they're are doing very well for themselves. Without any real person to talk to it feels good to have something to somewhat talk to. After all it's fun to pretend.
I know these things don't know unless told so I'll try to start simple...
I woke with the birds chirping. First birds I've heard in, well, years. The reason for this might be all the death going around. Horses or ponies as they refer to themselves with great power have invaded earth through our on fault. You see... As human we strive to create to get further a head in life. Some say they don't feel the need to but that feeling is also a goal itself. I'm not truly sure if that's how it works but we so long of a time to myself...
Anyway we advanced our technology years at a time till we hit a industrial era of technology. We started making all these wonderful things that helped and destroyed our enemies. But we furthered our fate into our own destruction... We build these portals to further our knowledge about the world and the world out there. Of course we had to keep messing with the law of physics... truly it would have been better if they left it all alone but... I guess we're only human.
We mad contact some years back and we started advancing more. We had allies in other worlds that we were more than willing to let roam and get to know them. Of course with every enemy there is bound to be an enemy. We seemed to be meddling with things out of our control but no one tried to stop us... no one wanted to. So we became known as not planet Earth but as a planet of trade. Intellect, sports, money, etc. You name it you come to good old planet earth or at least that's how it used to be.
So our allies turned into enemies and secret organizations came out of the wood work destroying our government and our way of life. Disease spread like a wild fire and only a few could actually make it out of such a horrible thing like that. Luckily I was one of the few. Ran off into the woods with only a few supplies. Didn't get far though before the patrols and stuff started up. Led to me having to protect myself. All I have is a baseball bat and a backpack full of hopes, dreams, and food and water. It's all I wanted to take with me. No need to change clothes when no one is around to be appalled not like anyone would actually care at this point.
Honestly I wonder why I care anyway... I guess not to be an animal I guess. Well I can already see the sun going down so might as well stop writing... I'm starting to warm up to the idea of this journal thing...
I sit back taking a deep breath stretching my right hand looking out window on my left. The sun has gone down a considerable amount sense I started looting. The sun is setting the sky ablaze with its vibrant colors of orange, yellow, and almost a purple hue. In a word it's lovely but in my words it means the end. The end of the peacefulness of the outside. It's when most the dangerous creature come out of their little holes in the ground looking for their next victim to kill, enslave, or rape. I look to my army backpack with my silver bat leaning against it. The only two things I'll ever have to remember my family...
I rise from the chair and sweep up my stuff slugging the backpack on my back and holding my bat in my right hand. After all I'm not the only one looking for things. I walk out of the upper room double looking some rooms in case I miss something.
"Five houses today... only three more before I move on..." I say with a sigh.
I descend the stairs and make my leave through the broken in half door. So far nothing is on the street of this lonely cul-de-sac. Not a single mutant or bloody pony in sight thankfully. I start my way back towards the forest end at the circle of the homes. Another successful looting day. I feel confident as I walk towards where I know my home awaits.
I walk into the forest the sun setting behind me. It never toke long to get from here to my home. To the untrained eye my home is very unnoticeable but as I reach my home and see my ladder already unrolled. I stop and clutch my bat backing up to hide behind a tree to see who could be forging up there. Not to my surprise I see two stallions walk around my tree home. I figure I can easily handle them and take a step towards them before I see a pegasus fly down and start talking to the two. I sigh and decide to lay low a bit. Usually when ever I see these ponies they are usually scouting the towns but sense they are scouting the forest that only means an escapee or someone has rated me out... Can't really tell who sense I'm the only person I know who is alive. I slink away and return to the house from before. At first my idea was to come back the house before I left on my "adventure" and grab the journal that way I don't feel lonely. Looks like I'm leaving a lot faster now.
I make it back and ascend the stairs to find a unicorn sitting in the chair looking over the journal reading its content. I quickly move forward swinging the bat at full speed slamming it into the ponies skull with a satisfying crack. The unicorn falls on the floor not yet dead gasping in panicked breathes looking at her assailant. She starts to ignite her horn but a good swing breaks the thing leaving the unicorn screaming in pain. The bat goes up and down again silencing the unicorn mare.
"Shit... I wonder how many more are here than..."
I quickly grab the journal and place it to the best of my ability in my backpack before leaving. I don't go out the front way in fear of more ponies coming to investigate the sound if they had heard. I find the back entrance and take my leave sticking to behind the building in the shaded parts. The moon is starting to come up so it only means that now I'm in the danger zone. On my way out of the Cul-de-sac I don't see much of anyone. I saw that pegasus from the woods flying about but not the two stallions. I figure they'll find the unicorn but by than I'll be gone.

Looks like I survived another night... My camp was found by a couple of ponies so I abandoned ship before it was too late. On the bright I killed one of those damned bastards. A white unicorn with purple mane and tail. I count that as a plus on my day. The unicorn was reading you and I couldn't have her living with the information that someone is around and might come for the journal now could I. Of course that only further complicates things seeing as the patrols will probably increase and have more in their parties to find if a human is around. Though again they can always assume a random beast came and killed her...
I can only hope... So two days of having this journal and I'm starting to realize that this is really going to help me. I can finally vent out all the pent up things I want to say! Also this makes for a good way to remember things as well sense I do have a bad memory... Well I didn't sleep at all during the night so I'm a get some sleep. I'll talk to you later.
With the last sentence written I place the journal and pencil on the ground to my right and curl up on the ground. I had found a cozy cave off in the forest. I know it's not the brightest thing but what else am I suppose to do? I guess I'll figure it out when I awake. I yawn and fall asleep quickly in the dark of the cave.
