Crusaders of Harmony: The Mare In The Sun: Prologue

A closed book resting on a stretch of grass. It is bound in brown leather, with gold bands on the spine, and the cover depicts a unicorn’s head in gold with jeweled eyes. The cover opens to reveal “Once upon time...” on the first page; when the screen is filled with blank whiteness, dissolves to a patch of dense clouds whose style suggests that they are part of a book illustrations. A gentle female voice begins to narrate.

“Once upon time, in the magical land of  Equestria...”

The clouds fade away and others slide out of view to expose to the landscape. A town can be seen near a meandering stream, with a second one----made of clouds and rainbows----floating near it and higher than the peak of nearby mountain. A pair of winged unicorns standing back to back on a cloud; the left one is white, with a pink mane and long tail, while the other is dark blue with a lighter blue mane and tail.

“...there were two regal sisters who ruled the land together and created harmony for all the land. To do this, the eldest used her unicorn powers to raise the sun at dawn. The younger brought out the moon to begin the night...”

The sun rises behind the white one and the moon and stars ascend behind the blue to take its place. The two sisters now appear on opposite sides of a slowly rotating yin and yang design---sides; pastel green and marked sun, pastel blue wtih the moon.

“Thus,the two sisters maintained balance for their kingdom and their subjects--all the different types of ponies..”

The moon in the night sky and past the eldest unicorn’s lowered head; her narrowed eyes flash briefly before focused on a group of ponies stargazing and sleeping.

“But as time went on, the eldest sister became jealous.The ponies relaxed and enjoyed the cool night air during the night her younger sister brought while they worked during the sun’s heat during her hot day.”

“One fateful day, eldest unicorn refused to to lower the sun to make way for the night. The younger sister tried to reason with her but the jealously in the elder one’s heart transformed her into a wicked mare of lightness...Solar Flare!

Lightning strikes and Equestria settlements under a cloudless day and the eclispe sun.

“She vowed that she would shroud the land in eternal day.”

A sunlit hall in a palace and tilt down slowly to a group of five jewels attached by radial shafts to a gold hub, on which a glowing white spear rests.

“Reluctantly, the younger sister harnessed the most powerful magic known to ponydom.”

“The Elements of Harmony! Using the magic of the Elements of Harmony, she defeated her older sister and banished her permanently in the sun.”

The younger sister now wears a dark blue tiara and shoots a pastel rainbow-colored beam from her horn, surrounding and subduing Solar Flare. It resolves into an image of the sun with the silhouetted head of the elder sister on the sun.

The background lightens and the younger sister appears in the center on a silver throne. Her wings are spread, she has added a dark blue collar\necklace to her tiara, and the sun appears at the top left and the moon on the other. A younger voice gradually takes over the following line.

“The younger sister took on responsibility for both the sun and the moon, and harmony has been maintained in Equestria for generations since.”

The reader, a pale, light grayish violet unicorn mare who sits on her belly, intently hunch over the book on the ground before her. Her mane and tail are both consisted by pale, light grayish gold with light goldish gray streaks. Her eyes are large and light gamboge, on her haunch is a “cutie mark” consisting of small pale gold sparkles. This is Dinky Doo, Daughter of Derpy and Younger sister to Amethyst Star. Dinky is lost in thought.

“Elements of Harmony..I know I’ve heard of those before...But where?”
