"God dammit! I'm pinned down, can't fuckin' move!" Gunfire echoed throughout the hallway, getting closer and closer with every second. The pony returned fire down the hallway, just blind firing. After all, it was way too risky to pop his head out--he heard at least five other ponies there.

Keeping his hand placed on the trigger, he observed his surroundings. This building was old and looked worn out. He didn't know how much more damage it could take. He heard his gun click. Out of ammo. Shit.

He felt a hoof touch his. Looking to his left, he saw a cyan pegasus with a rainbow mane and tail. She handed him a oval shaped object: a Mk 2 'Pineapple' grenade.

He nodded, and chucked the grenade around the corner. It ricocheted off of the wall and bounded its way to the enemy.

The enemy force blew up, but not before the building went with them. The roof was caving in. The rainbow pony, being closer to the exit, was able to get out first. The other pony wasn't so lucky.

The roof fell down onto his hind legs, trapping him underneath.

"R-Rainbow Dash..." His last words.

"It's going to be okay, Acrimony. I'm gonna get you out of there." Unfortunately, those were her last words, too. A .50 caliber sniper round sliced through her forehead, exiting out the other side and hitting the demolished building behind them. She crumpled to the ground, and Acrimony spent the last few seconds of his life holding Rainbow Dash's hoof.

Then, the pain was gone, and there was blackness.

Acrimony gave Rainbow Dash a high hoof. "That was an AWESOME game!" she shouted. Acrimony couldn't help but smile. "Except for that last part. Don't tell anypony about that last part."

The grey pegasus smiled and nodded. "That was a pretty good game. Want to play again?" Acrimony couldn't resist asking. It was his favorite game, Cattlefield 3.

Rainbow Dash shook her head. "Sorry, A, but I have to get back to Rarity. She wants me to... try on a dress, or something. Maybe tomorrow?"

Acrimony tried to look as happy as possible, but on the inside he just melted. Rainbow Dash was the only pony he loved in this world. "Yeah... I understand. Well, cya." He watched Rainbow walk away from the arcade cabinet. Figuring he had nothing better to do, he decided to follow her out and began the long walk home.

Once he got himself into bed, he couldn't sleep. He was too busy thinking about Rainbow Dash. Acrimony had always tried to control his behavior around her. Not because he liked her or anything... Acrimony smiled. Of course he liked her. Sighing, he tried to go back to sleep, releasing his final thoughts before he dozed off. I wish I could be with Rainbow all the time...

He'd fallen to sleep quite quickly, but waking up wasn't quite the same. Well, it never was, but this was... different. Acrimony opened his eyes. This didn't feel like his bed, and that certainly wasn't his ceiling. What was going on here?

His question was answered when he was forced to his feet by an earth pony in uniform. "Up an' at 'em, Private! Everypony else is already trainin'!"

Acrimony was quite appalled at first, but then realized what'd happened.

He knew it all so well, and didn't want any of it to be true.

The first training course was the wall climb, which the pegasi got to skip. The next course was the tire run... which the pegasi got to skip too. The pegasi qualified to skip almost all of the courses, and Rainbow Dash was all about it. Not that she didn't like getting excercise, but that these practices were all the most redundant.

She was about to go to her next course when she saw something that made her heart shoot up.

It was Acrimony.

His grey mane was rustling in the wind. He appeared to be looking for something, and suddenly turned towards Rainbow Dash. They locked eyes and began galloping to each other. When they met in the middle, they both gave each other a hug.

Both of them chuckled; it was the first time they'd ever done something like that. Plus, Rainbow Dash secretly liked the grey pegasus. She just hoped he felt the same way.

"HEY! You two lovebirds! Get yer ass back on the course!" It was the drill sergeant.

They both hustled back to the mile run, but again: for the pegasi, it was more of a mile fly.

Rainbow Dash grinned. "Race you to the end?"

Acrimony returned the smile. "You're on."

The cyan pegasus took off, leaving Acrimony more than a few seconds behind.

"Wha-hey, no fair!" He took off after her.

It continued like this for a while, until Acrimony finally caught up to Rainbow Dash. They both squinted, staring each other in the eyes. They didn't realize they had already finished until they crashed into the rock wall.

"Ow..." Acrimony rubbed his head. It hurt.

Rainbow Dash, on the other hand, got right back up and pointed her hoof in his face. "I totally beat you!" she boasted.

Acrimony glared at her. "Humble, much," he muttered.

"What was that?" Rainbow Dash said, as innocently as possible.

They both laughed it off. Acrimony got back up, and leaned in to kiss her.

Rainbow had always been waiting for this moment, and as their lips were about to touch, there was a loud yell from a couple hundred meters away.

"HEY! LOVEBIRDS! GET YER' FAT ASSES BACK OVER HERE BEFORE I WHOOP 'EM!"

Well, that totally killed the mood.
