Four years ago, River Rhyme moved from Trottingham to the quiet town of Ponyville, looking to escape the hustle and bustle of city life and get his personal affairs in order. At the time, he expected his only companions to be a collection of quills, some quality parchment, and some even higher quality cider.

Ponyville has a way of squelching one's antisocial streak.

Now, he's friends with Caramel, an overly enthusiastic Earth Pony, as well as his marefriend Sassaflash, all of the Apple family (with a new-found beer snobbery to match), and, most surprisingly, a certain trio of fillies, especially a certain pint-sized Pegasus.

Today, after four years of friendship, their bond grows even stronger.

WARNING - While Scootaloo is aged up in this fic, she isn't quite aged enough to completely dodge the foalcon bullet, or the Ephebophilia bullet. Or whatever you call it, I ain't an expert on the intricacies of this kinda stuff, and I'm kinda glad about that.
