The crowd swayed to the rythmic thumping of the impossibly loud music that Vinyl Scratch had blaring while Neon's light show amazed them. The sickly sweet smell of sweat and sex permeated the air like a thick smog. Vinyl grinned from ear to ear as she watched the mass of ponies react to her latest single, her own head bobbing to the beat. The lights Neon had put together for her song were perfect. The crowd seemed to appear and disappear again beneath the strobe, and lasers cut through the darkness in a pattern carefully picked, yet wild enough to seem random. The audience was going crazy. This was what she lived for.
As her eyes scanned the scene before her, she spotted a familiar face and her smile grew wider yet. She signaled to Neon Lights that she would put the music on autopilot for a while. He nodded and she crept off stage. She couldn't wait to catch up with Twilight.

"Oh Vinyl!" she cried, "You wouldn't believe what I've just been through!" Vinyl gently pushed her friend away and used her magic to lift her sunglasses up, resting on her horn, so she could look into her eyes. she gave her a reassuring smile. She felt so close to her at that moment, locked in this enchanting gaze, her hooves resting upon Twilight's shoulders. Her own red eyes seemed to be searching, of their own free will, for something in Twilight's beautiful purple irises.
The gaze felt like a millenium, though it only actually lasted a second or two. Vinyl swiftly snapped back to her usual attitude. She got to Twilight's side and put a hoof around her shoulders. "C'mon Twily," Twilight blushed at the nickname, though it was the same her older brother used, "Let's get a drink at the bar and you can tell me all about it!"
As they sauntered over to the bar, the bartender smiled and gave Vinyl a nod. She played in this ponyville club a lot. It had been a while. She and Neon Lights had been on an Equestria-wide tour for about half a year and this was their second to last show. Their big finale was to be held in "Equines," one of Canterlot's biggest clubs. As the pair sat down, the bartender asked his regular question, "Whatcha' havin', ladies?"
Vinyl was the one to answer, "Two ciders with strawberry, on the rocks, and put them on my tab, Man!" With that, he left the motley crew alone to prepare their drinks. They looked out of place in each other's company. The smug-looking party animal was the last person you would expect to see Princess Twilight Sparkle hanging out with. They both found that assumption ridiculous.
"So," Vinyl spoke up, leaning back onto the bar, "What's got you so worked up, man?" Twilight looked up at her from the spot on the bar she'd been boring a hole into with her eyes. "Hmm? Oh, right," She gave a little sigh and began explaining everything that happened. Vinyl didn't understand it all, especially the parts about some mysterious keys, but she listened intently, sipping on her drink, as the alicorn poured her soul out to her. There were parts that even made her gasp, like the part where they split up looking for these keys into teams of two, and her friend AppleJack had been unfortunate enough to have encountered a polar bear in the icy north without Fluttershy. The entire story was proof of the validity of Murphy's Law. By the time she was finished, Twilight was sobbing again. the two of them had been through three or four pints of cider already. "And that's why I came to see you!" Twilight cried, hanging onto Vinyl. "I needed somepony else to talk to, somepony who would listen! I'm so sorry I messed up your concert!"
Vinyl held Twilight tight, "Nah man," She assured, "You don't need to apologize. You didn't mess up shit. This party's still pumpin'. "Drugs," Twilight deadpanned.
"It's not any normal drug. These things aren't anything cheap. She galloped back onto the stage. This party had been on autopilot for long enough.
Twilight was left sitting at the bar, a pill in front of her. would it actually help anything? She decided if Vinyl could be on stage under it's influence, it couldn't hurt to try it. She already had the no, so why not try risking the yes? She popped the pill and stood up. "It's just another science experiment, right?"

Momentarily, she considered writing down her findings, but as the music got her attention, all other thoughts left her mind.

"What's up, Ponyville!" She shouted into a mic."Are you ready to step this party up to the next level?" There was a resounding cheer from the rest of the crowd, but Twilight just stared. She stared at Vinyl. What was this feeling? Was her presence always so demanding? Was she always so- ?
Her thoughts were cut off once more as the music turned back up. This song was different. She knew it. It was her favorite from her party. Vinyl was playing it just for her. She suddenly felt her body moving. She went with it. All her body, mind and soul swayed to the beat. Several ponies put glowsticks around her neck as she danced, but she didn't even notice. She was in a trance. A large portion of the crowd was now watching her and cheering.
They weren't the only ones watching. Vinyl had been enraptured by Twilight, under the influence of her drug as well. Just as Twilight poured herself into dance, Vinyl poured herself into the music, adding things to the song for Twilight's sole pleasure; just to enhance her feelings.

Twilight giggled and only responded in the form of complaint, "I'm so hot!" Vinyl guffawed. "That may have been a bit too much for your first time," She ushered the stoned mare in and closed the door. Twilight turned to look at her friend. "Now I'm cold!"

No, seriously. This is my first fimfic ever, and my first fanfic since I was like...11. (9 years!) I've been writing music and poetry since then, so the plot is crappy, the flow is choppy, it feels rushed, and the whole story is just too damn short. Do your worst! I can take it!
