~~~Twilight~~~
To my Princess, Mentor and dearest friend,
As I was not born an Alicorn, my powers are slowly fading away. It is even a struggle for me to levitate the quill as I am writing this, so I have to make this quick
Judging by the rate my powers are dropping, I'll probably be dead by the time you read this. I just wanted you to know how much you meant in my life.
You have been such an important part of my life. You were there when I got my cutie mark, you were there when I made my first friends, You were there when I became Princess, you always tried your best to be their for me, and that is appreciated.
You were like a mother to me, you raised me from a young age and took care of me. You were my mentor for almost half my life and you taught me that there are more important things than books.
I still remember each and every single lesson you had with me like it was yesterday. I remember how we used to talk about the history of Equestria together in the palace gardens. Now you can teach those lessons to your new student, and watch them grow just like me and remember those precious times you can still hold on to.
I felt so scared when it was up to me and my friends to save Equestria. I was scared that I might loose you or Luna. I couldn't live life without you after how much time we spent together.
My writing probably looks bad... Its not Spike whose writing it... it's me. I thought having the letter written by me it would mean more. Spike is constantly suggesting that he writes it, but I keep telling him it would mean much more if it was written by me.
Now that me, Pinkie, Applejack and Rarity are gone, there is a need for new elements of harmony. I need you to do this for me, It will make me happy to know that the elements have lived on. I was going to do it myself... but I made the mistake of waiting too long.
You and Luna are the best Princess Equestria has ever seen. You were the ones that lead Equestria into peace. I just wanted you to know that.
When I'm dead, please don't cry for me, I've lived a wonderful life. I know, I don't want to leave either, I wanted to stay with you and see the new elements grow. But I don't have any choice.
Please give my final goodbye to Luna. I don't think I have enough strength to write another letter.
I give you my final farewell. I will be joining my parents, my brother, Cadence and my other friends in the after life. I wont be really leaving you, my love will stay with you
And remember this:- don't cry Because i'm gone, be happy because I got to live my life.
From your faithful student and friend,
Twilight Spar-
Celestia couldn't believe it, her student an one of her closest friends was gone forever. Judging by her name half written, she died just before she could finish the letter.
She gently rolled up the letter and put it safely in her draw. A soft thump was heard as Celestia closed the draw softly with her hoof. She sighed deeply and trotted out of the room.
She went down countless corridors and echo's of Celestias golden shoes on the marble floor bounces off the walls. She came to the doors leading to the gardens. She saw the tree that her and Twilight used to sit under. She saw her and Twilight sitting there, talking about the history of Equestria. A stray tear fell from Celestias eyes as she turned and with at powerful flap of her wings she flew up to a decent sized cloud.
She looked around and saw Ponyville. A little village just passed the mountain Canterlot was on top of. Twilight probably saw the symptoms before anyone else new, and if she could choose anyplace to spend her last days, it would be with her friends.
Ponyville
Celestia opened her wings and jumped off the cloud. The wind caught her and she angled herself in the direction of Ponyville. It wasn't that much of a flight when your going downhill, so she quickly cam to the bottom of the hill and re-adjusted herself to fly parallel to the ground on her way to Ponyville.
She flew downwards and landed in fount of the library Twilight called home. She trotted up to the door and heard soft sobs coming from inside. She quietly knocked and waited.
She heard footsteps coming towards the door and Spike greeted her. He was still crying but not as much as before. Spike asked if she wanted to see Twilight. Celestia nodded and Spike widened the door for her.
Celestia saw Twilights body laying on the ground in front of the desk. She galloped over to it and turned her over so she could see Twilights face. Sunlight draped over Twilights body and her mane swayed a little in the breeze coming from the open window.
"Twilight!" Celestia screamed and lay down in front of her. She hugged her student and cried into her shoulder. She stayed there and thought about the times she spent with her, laughing, crying, smiling, hugging... After what felt like hours of crying, Celestia finally got up and wiped her tears away.
Twilight lived a reasonably long life... 83 was how old she was when she died. Just long enough to celebrate her 60 yearss of ruling Equestria with Celestia and Luna.
Celestia turned to face Spike, Twilights dragon assistant. He still had tears in his eyes and looked at her. She knew what he wanted, for Celestia to cast a spell to bring Twilight back. That's not possible, even Alicorn magic isn't strong enough to bring back loved ones... so she shook her head.
Spike ran to me and I pulled him in for a hug. We both silently mourned for our loss
~ A few months later ~
Celestia walked down from her room, passing many corridors and arriving at the doors leading to the gardens. She walked to a bush filled with deep purple orchids. Thoses were Twilights favourite flowers. She always used to ask Celestia if she could pick some for her vase. Celestia held the beautiful flowers with her magic as she made her way to the same tree her and Twilight used to sit under.
A large silver head stone that was beautifully decorated was sitting under the tree.
~ Here lies Twilight ~
~ A student, a princess, a daughter, a brother, a sister-in-law, and a loving friend ~
~ A pony who fully understood friendship and inspired others to experience the magic of friendship ~
As Celestia lay the flower in the vase next to the headstone, a tear rolled down her cheek and onto the headstone, in the shape of a heart.
