Do I know you?
I wrote down the math problem and sigh as I complete it quickly. My name is Silver Flame, I have long, brown hair that reaches down to my waist that I usually tie in a ponytail when I go to school. I usually wear a blue t-shirt and jeans. The bell rings loudly and all of the students rush out of school, eager to get some free time as I trudge out of school. I start to walk home as I feel a hand grip my shoulder tightly. I whip around to see the new guy at school, his name was...
"Hi there, my name is Hunter..." He says awkwardly.
I reply uneasily, "H-Hi, I'm Silver..." He looks strangely familiar, like... A thought rushes into my head and it flows out as fast as it came in.
"Are you ok?" he asks, worried.
I reply, "I-I'm fine..."
I say bye, but we both walk the same way. "Your home is this way too?" he asks. "Yeah..." I reply. I reach my house and wave bye to him as I walk in. I sank down onto the floor and cry for hours on end. I finally got up and manage to force myself to make some food. I stomp upstairs and fell into bed. Sleep engulfs me in seconds. The next day, I didn't realize it was Saturday. I get up and hear the doorbell ringing. I open the door and see Hunter standing there. He says, "C-can I... come in?" I reply, "Sure, c'mon in." I offer him a seat as he grimaces, "You still don't know about it, do you?" I tilt my head as tears flood his eyes.
He looked at me sadly and says, "You still don't know about the two of us, do you...?" I replied, "What is it?" He says, "You don't remember from when we were young... You and I are related. Not until the Savages came. Our parents..." I stare at him. "Our parents.... they're dead."
I just look at him blankly as tears fall down onto the wooden floor. So there is one person, one person in this cruel world that feels the same pain that I do. I bury my head in my knees as I sob uncontrollably. The memories flow into my mind as I remember the monsters who killed my parents. They did horrible things... I couldn't even think about it without crying even more. The Savages... They tore at our house, the place we called home, took our precious belongings, burned it down..... and killed my parents... The huge swords and powerful guns they had... They were no match for my parents' small daggers. They drove the weapons into their chest... the blood flowing like a river. I don't resist as his arms wrap around me and I fall asleep soon after.
Hunter is still holding me as I wake up and realize that he is my only relative alive. "We can get revenge," he says, a twinkle in his eye. "How," I ask. He says, "One way. There is only one way that we can kill Savages. We have to get dragons." I reply, "Don't joke around. Tell me." He said bitterly, "I'm not lying. Want me to show you?" I follow him to The Cliffs, the place that nobody has dared went to. Most people disappeared when they entered. Soon, I forget about those rumors as I see two small eggs. He cares for the small eggs as one of them splits in half, the other soon after. One of the baby dragons growl cutely as I see his colors. They were black as the night with dark grey stripes streaking across his body. Another one of them yawned as I see her beautiful sapphire blue scales shining in the sunlight. Hunter says, "These are going to be our dragons. Their colors will be more brighter and beautiful when they grow, and trust me, dragons grow very fast. In a week, these are going to be half the size of us. It'll probably be only one month when they're big enough to ride. I think my dragon is a Dark Dragon, and yours is an Ice Dragon... Oh, excuse me, there are many types of dragons. For instance, mines is a Dark Dragon. Powers of the Night, Stars, and really anything to do with the dark. Yours can bend ice and water to form weapons or anything they want, so yours is an Ice Dragon." I tilt my head as he says, "Uh... You'll understand it sooner or later." He hands me a small piece of meat and my dragon hops up my arm to get it. She nibbles on it and squeaks a word."Silwer!" I translate it to my name, Silver, and both of us laugh. We carry the dragon to my house and I say, "Well, I guess you should be going now, Hunter." He replies, "Uh... I don't have a house..." I remark, "But yesterday you were walking the other way..." Hunter sighs, "I was faking it." I say, "Well... You could always stay here if you'd like. I have an extra room upstairs." I put my dragon in the backyard as it ran around playfully with Hunter's dragon. I show him the extra room and he feels the bed. We walk downstairs as I grab a small ball and throw it into the backyard. The dragons toy with it, but then my dragon became attracted to the water. She could turn it into ice and turn it back into water, and she could even bend it- Oh yeah, Hunter said my dragon could do that. I walk upstairs and fell asleep in minutes.
Chapter 2
WHOA!
I look at astonishment at my dragon. It was already half the size of me. It said, "Silver! I'm hungry!" in a voice that sounded beautiful and some kind of sparkle in it. I get out a piece of meat and toss it to her. She eats it as she walks into the backyard again. I toss a piece of meat to Hunter's as it ate it as quickly as mines. "Well, what are you going to name her?" Hunter says suddenly. I think about it and said, "Vixie. Sounds like a stupid name, but..." My dragon eagerly nods as Hunter says, "Well, I named mines Night." Vixie grew up in a matter of weeks. I climb on top of her and I decide to sit on a thick carpet draped on her back instead... The scales were as hard as diamond, and it would scrape my knees as soon as Vixie lifted off. Hunter sat on his and we rode to The Cliffs. I jump off but I soon clench my head as the memories flash in my mind again. The blood, the fires, and my parents... I collapse to the ground panting and shaking with my head buried between my knees as Hunter runs towards me. He tries to comfort me but nothing works. Then I see a boy walking through the woods, and something about him calms me down. He runs towards us and asks Hunter a question, but I don't remember anything else before I black out.
When I wake up, there is a blanket draped over me and the boy we met was looking at me. I could see him closer now- he had an emo haircut, as I like to call it, he was pretty tall, looks like he was 16 or 17, and he had a talent for speed. There was something about him... Something... The thoughts fade as he says, "My name is Blake. I have a Cloud Dragon, and I got lost in the forest with my dragon." His dragon stuck his head inside and he pets it. He says uncertainly, "Are you ok?" I don't realize that I was turning a light shade of pink. I turn away and he laughs. "Do you like me?" he asks. I stutter, "N-n-no..." He says, "Of course you do, you're stuttering, you're blushing, you like me!" I sigh, "Yeah... uh... I guess... maybe a little..." He rolls his eyes while saying, "A little?" He laughs a little and I say, "Ok, I admit it, I like you! Are you happy now?!" I get up and run outside to see Vixie. She said, "Silver, Silver!" in her melodious voice again. I pet her for a few minutes while talking to Hunter. "Silver has a crush on Blake!" Hunter laughs. I slap him and he quiets down. I hear rustling and I whisper, "Hide!" quickly. We dive into the bushes as our dragons soared in the other direction. Savages come to our camp and I make a rustling noise. "'Ey, somethin's in dat bush!" one of them said. They grab me and say, "Well, well, if it isn't one of the Flames." They slash at me wickedly with a long sword and graze me on the shoulder with a bullet. Tears well in my eyes as they walk away laughing. Blake and Hunter jump out as I feel dizzy from the blood loss. I faint.
When I wake up AGAIN, I see Blake sitting next to me, and outside the tent, Hunter was roasting some quail over a fire. Blake says, "Don't worry, you'll be fine." The memories flash in my mind again as I scream. He grabs my arms and says, "It's ok, I know how it feels-" I say quickly and quietly, "No... You don't know how it feels. To have your parents gone when you were just a baby... You don't know how it feels to have your own home burned down... You don't know how it feels to have lost meaning in your life. You don't know the feeling... the feeling that you want to kill yourself."
Chapter 3
Blake's Confession
I don't know what happened, as I was talking, it was just so quick, I felt something soft brushing against my lips. It was Blake. I push him away in astonishment as I cover my mouth. He looked at me struggling to figure out what was going on and he laughs. I whisper, "Why? Why did you do that?" He says, "Well, you were talking so fast and I was getting really bore-" I slap him and tease, "Stop joking around, why?" He rubs his face and whimpers, "Ouch..." I roll my eyes and say, "Stop being a little sissy and tell me why. For real." He says, "Well... I have to admit, I kinda have a crush on you too." I speechlessly stare at him as I hear Hunter say, "The food's ready!" I say, "I'm not that hungry right now." I try to get up and I whimper as my leg had a great surge of pain go through it. Blake says, "Dude, you should probably stay here right now..." and puts me down onto the mattress. He sits on the mattress that I was laying on as Blake climbs in. I say, "WHOA, I'm not exactly ready for THAT yet, just sleep in your own tent..." He says, "Didn't you notice? I don't HAVE my own tent." I say, "Then share Hunter's." He rolls his eyes that would be kinda awkward for the two of us." I say, "Fine, just don't do anything creepy." I drift off to sleep, but I'm awakened to a gunshot. Blake gets up but I grab his hand and my eyes widen. I let go and say, "Sorry... Just a bit scared." I jump out of bed and I look outside. Nobody was there, but then I felt a sharp pain in my back. I run away as I see a shady figure whiz around camp like a blur. I gasp in pain as a huge slash appears across my shoulder as blood flows down to the ground as it swirls around the ground. I look at my hands covered with blood and I topple backwards and Blake catches me, running onto his dragon. My dragon gets ready to follow us and Hunter jumps onto his dragon. We lift off as the shadowy blur still zips around the camp.
I wake up to the rush of wind. Vixie nudges me off and helps me get off. We land at a small cave and I walk in as the dragons settle in a larger cave nearby. "How much longer to fly?" I ask wearily. Hunter says, "It's at The Ruins, and that's like, almost on the other side of the world." I almost faint, but I realize that I fainted WAY too much in this journey already. Hunter says, "Good thing my dragon can control the stars... He bended the stars to bring us our items back. We set up our tents again and I stumble back into the tent. I soak the tent a red color as I stare at my hand, blood trailing down. I sit down and clutch my head as memories pour in. The blood still came back, the flames. My parents... Blake runs in and sees me panting and shaking uncontrollably as he says, "It's ok, just breathe, just breathe..." I can't calm down as blood runs across the floor of the tent as tears fall down my face and mix with the blood. I sob as Blake rips off part of the blanket and wipes the blood off of my wounds off. I wipe my eyes with my hands as he grabs my bloody hands and cleans them of the blood. I say, "Why do I even have to exist, why do I even live on this planet?! This cruel world... How can people live on this cruel world..." I smile weakly as I say, "Sometimes... sometimes I just want to wipe myself off the face of the earth... I just want to kill myself, I would be so happy... seeing the blood flow from my chest, to have the joy of not having to suffer anymore... the joy of being dead." Blake grabs me and says, "Snap out of it! Killing yourself isn't the answer! Your life is bad, yes, but people still need you!" Blake starts crying too and says, "Nobody wants to lose you..." I scream, "What do you mean?! Nobody cares about me! They all want me gone!" Blake says, "I care. Hunter cares, too." I look up at him and sigh. I say, "I just want to leave... I want to be done with this whole mess..." Blake kissed me again with his soft lips. I stumble back into the mattress and I try to draw back, but this time he didn't let me go. I lean back against the wall as his tongue plunges in my mouth deeper. I sink down on the bed as Blake withdraws from me, but then he walks to the tent opening and zips it shut. He reaches to unzip his pants as I say, "I'm not ready for that!" He purrs seductively, "I know you better than you yourself..." His pants fall down and I back up, my face literally like a tomato. He says, "Your turn." I say, "Wait I-" He dives towards me and takes off my pants himself as I turn extremely red. He smiles as he takes off his jacket, only wearing a t-shirt, and he takes off mines, so I'm also only wearing a t-shirt, too. He says, "Well, aren't you going to do anything?" I recoil, retorting, "Well I'm not the one who wanted to do this in the first place..." Blake rolls his eyes and he says, "Well, I guess we could start out small..." He sits between my body and legs as my knees instinctively bend to make him come closer. He bends forward and pulls me into a kiss as I wrap my arms around his neck. I close my eyes ad I feel his tongue plunge in my mouth as my tongue probes his mouth. Blake draws back from the kiss, a trail of spit connecting our mouths. I soon realized that I needed more of him as he immediatley ducks his head down to my clit as his mouth wraps around it and his tongue swirled it around in his mouth as I moan. He smiles at my reaction and says, "First time?" I manage to cough out, "F-first... time... Too much....." He sighs as he gets up. I grab my clothes and I'm eager to put them back on. I drift off to sleep in minutes.
Final Chapter
The Flames of Life
I look at the Leader Savage and I take out a huge sword that I had been saving. I untie my dragon's saddle and sat on her bare back. Vixie says, "Shall we take off now, Destined Warrior?" I nod as she flapped her giant wings as other dark dragons soared out of the sky. Vixie flew around the arrows as she flew towards the Leader Savage, then he disappeared in a blur. I gasp in pain as a huge gash appears on my back, dripping blood across the canyon. I keep on going as Vixie flies even faster. There was another blur, and I look at Hunter's dragon trying desperately to dodge all of the weapons flying at it. Blake was flying around, pushing some riders off their dragons. I grab a rider and throw him down in the canyon as Vixie grabs the dragon in her mouth as blood drips from it. She spits it out. We battle for days, and finally, we corner the Leader Savage. He smiles as he disappears once again and we run in opposite directions, trying to find him. I say, "Vixie, do you-" I can't feel the dragon by my side and I see Vixie lying on the ground, bleeding heavily. I run towards her and scream, "VIXIE! PLEASE, BE STRONG!" Vixie smiles and says in her melodious tone of voice that I always remember, "May we meet again, Silver, in the next life." Her eyes close and I cry. The Leader Savage flies towards me with a weapon in his hand, and I smile as I feel the pain in my chest. Blake and Hunter look my way and yell random word that I cannot make out. I smile as my eyes flutter close and I die. Even so, the Flame of Life still burns in that very spot, inextinguishable.
Epilogue
I wake up in a perfect outdoor area, the beautiful trees, and the wind playing with my hair. I see two people that are familiar that are sitting in a bench in front of me. A man and a woman were chatting like nothing happened. I walk towards them and tears blow away in the wind as they turn around and I see who it is.
Chapter 4
The Rough Journeys
Hunter hands me a piece of quail and I gobble it down quickly. I still hadn't forgotten the incident with Blake yesterday, but I decide to push it away for today. I look inside my water bottle. It was empty.
"Guys! My water bottle is empty!"
Hunter yelled back, "Get a new one!"
"There's no more!"
Hunter runs towards the pack he had brought. There was nothing inside it. Hunter says, "Well, we're just going to have to go without water for a while." I ask,"Hey, Blake, what's your dragon's name?" He replies, "Melody." I remark, "So it's a girl?" He nods. I pet Vixie as I take out a hunk of meat and I feed it to her. I could hear her in my mind... "Silver! Silver!" I would always hear when she was still a baby. Night says in a low voice, "Quick. I can sense the Savages." Vixie says, "Yes. I do too. Their radiation is already affecting me. We have to depart now." I hop onto Vixie as Hunter packs up everything. Blake jumps onto Melody and we fly off.
My stomach grumbles. It's been almost a week since we flew. Our dragons are tired, there's not a good place to land, and everybody is starving and thirsty by now. We land at a small pond and our all of us added together, drank the whole pond, most of it was drunk by the dragons, though. We lifted off again as I sigh. I hold on to Vixie's neck, even though the house-like saddle already gave more than enough protection. We finally find a spot to land, but it's really high on a cliff. I look down and almost vomit. It was so high up! Vixie says, "We are all very exhausted. We shall find a place to regain our energy." Hunter yells, "I found a small cave!" Our dragons couldn't fit, so they slept outside. After the sleeping bags were set up, I fell asleep in a second.
When I woke up, Hunter was ready to leave. I say, "Why are you in such a rush?" He says, "Remember how long we flew yesterday? There's just a little bit more to go." I wake up Blake as we pack up everything. I wrap myself in a jacket and brought a blanket with me. I climb up onto Vixie and we fly off into the distance once more. I am ready to avenge my parents, and kill the one who made me lose my sanity.
