Each time Vinyl seemed to not believe her until eventually one day she just stopped apologizing. Octavia knew her eyes weren't quite as keen to changing from light to dark as other ponies. While Scratch herself lamented her blood-red eyes for all the problems they caused, they only added up to one of the thousands of reasons why Octavia was madly in love with her.
Octavia had no idea how long she laid there, letting Vinyl's sleeping breath kiss her neck, looking her over with an enticing affection for her. After what seemed like hours of basking in her glow, Vinyl opened her eyes to the sight of her friend. While Octavia couldn't hear it, Vinyl's heart skipped a beat when she awoke to Octavia's deep purple stare. Her eyes seemed cool, intelligent, and comforting. It never mattered how irresponsible or ignorant Vinyl might have been, she always knew that Octavia, with her intelligent, loving gaze would be there supporting her. The thought of her beautiful eyes was almost enough to get her in the mood for love again, before she finally spoke.
"You know, you are the one thing that I look forward to seeing when I wake up," Vinyl spoke with a lithe smile.
"Last night was wonderful, Scratch," Octavia replied, brushing her mane behind her ear, "We could have nights only half as magical every day for the rest of my life, and I would still miss a concert time to be with you."
Vinyl chuckled playfully. She was never sure if Octavia was being genuine or just talking dirty the best she could. To an extent, it was almost more tantalizing to keep herself guessing.
"You didn't mention to me that you had a concert scheduled last night Tavi! You know you don't have to skip you career for me."
"I wanted to do this," Octavia reminded her, scootching herself closer to Scratch and placing herself into her arms as the playfully twisted her main in her hooves, "Besides, it is not every day that it is our three year anniversary."
Scratch tried to clear her head. Was that what last night was all about? It was hard to remember all the details before the sex. She may have been a bit less liberal on the amount she drank than Octavia, making her head scream out against her in a lingering hangover. Still, she wrapped Octavia in her arms as she nuzzled her neck, smelling her scent as she pulled her in close to whisper in her ear sensually.
"Why don't you go down the stairs and get ready to go out for breakfast while I clean up a little up here."
Octavia turned in her arms, facing Scratch so that their bodies touched and their faces were spaced only a few precious inches from each other.
"Perhaps lunch," she corrected kindly, her voice like a calm spring breeze, "It is almost noon. You have been sleeping almost all day. I didn't mind it however. Just as long as I could spend that time next to you."
"Jeez Tavi," Scratch groaned reaching over to the bed stand to her sunglasses, "Between the amount of time you let me sleep in, I think I am only really on year two of this three-year relationship."
Octavia gave a pleasant laugh as she rose from the bed and over to the window shutters. She turned to her partner, who offered a quick nod of approval as she place on here glasses before opening the window, allowing a warm sunlight to fill the room. As the warm rays shown through, Octavia's figure became a silhouette against the midday sun. She was so elegant, so graceful. Through it all though, Scratch knew that she resented it. Her soft skin and womanly figure was so erotic to both her and others, Octavia feared that she would always be known merely for her body and not her glorious music.
"Don't look, but listen!"
