The King and His Stallion

Mac and Sombra were walking down the hall towards the kitchen when suddenly they saw the purple dragon Spike come around the corner. “SHINING?!! SHI-…” spike stopped as he saw a familiar grey stallion standing in front of the dragon. “S-s-s-s-s-som-som-som-somb-somb-som…” The grey stallion laughed as he looked at the pathetic dragon putting his hoof over his mouth.

“Were you trying to say… SOMBRA? Sombra said as he grinned and bared his fangs licking them in front of the dragon. “Yes it is me after all you did try to destroy me with the pathetic crystal heart… is that perhaps why your shaking more than a hypothermic pony?” Spike took the hoof and pushed it away.

“I’m not afraid!! I’ll just use the Crystal heart to…” Sombra laughed as spike said crystal heart.

“Hahahaha Crystal Heart, that pathetic use for a paper weight no longer affects me you silly dragon… but it does make me want to destroy it even though it’s useless. Isn’t that right Mac?” Mac stepped out from behind him and looked at spike.

“Spike stay outta his way ah don’t wanna see you hurt alright?” Mac said as he looked at Spike pleading. “He just wants to make a good life for himself and I’m willing to support that as long as it helps me as well. He’s a good friend of mine… you just don’t understand like ah do spike.” Mac said as he saw spikes face glow red with anger.

“Mac, don’t dare even try talking to me, your fraternizing with the enemy!!” Spike said as he pointed at Sombra glaring angrily. “Wait till I tell Twilight!!!” Spike quickly runs off as Sombra shrugs nonchalantly.

“He can call twilight and the princesses for all I care they cannot touch me now…” Sombra said as they continued to walk to the kitchen.

Later that day Mac and Sombra decided it was time to destroy the Crystal heart only to get there to find all the princesses and the elements ready to fight a battle of epic proportions.

“Sombra it ends now.” Shouted Celestia as she spread her wings warning Sombra she will not hesitate. “We have heard from spike and Shining Armor that you have been infused with the Element of Honesty and the Crystal Heart has no effect on you. Thus we have all decided it is a fight to the death or until one declares they are defeated.” Sombra only laughed as he looked at them and smiled.

“I’ll take your declaration of defeat now then… or should I show you only part of my power?” Sombra said as Mac stood by his side.

“Mac, get your sorry hooves over here now!!” Applejack shouted as she glared at him.

“Ah aint going sis!!! He is my KING!!” Mac shouted as he stayed put stamping his hoof on the glassy
crystal sidewalk cracking it.

“You are a traitor!!! Who are you and what did you do with my brother!!!” Applejack shouted as she looked in shock at her brother. “He’s controlling you and we will not stop till we defeat him!!”

“Hahaha you fool can’t even get the actual Elements of Harmony!! Your bother is not controlled he willingly followed me!!” Sombra’s horn lit up as he sent a furry or magical blasts at all of them sending most of the elements to the ground knocked out leaving only Pinkie Applejack and Twilight were still standing.

“Mac what is with you?!! He is trying to hurt me and your just letting him?!!” Applejack shouted as she threw apples towards Sombra as he sent them back twice as fast landing a blow to Twilight’s horn and Luna and Celestia’s breaking them from the impact.

“Ha, what now you struggling princesses?!!!” Sombra said as their magical attack was blocked. Celestia and Luna’s horns grew back almost instantly but twilight being a new princess couldn’t. “Hahaha you couldn’t even teach the new one how to fight a magical battle!!”

“ENOUGH!!!” Celestia shouted as she concentrated a massive magical blast using up most of her magical well. “TAKE THIS YOU REJECTED KING!!!” Through her rage she threw the attack sending it towards Sombra so fast making him have only a split second to throw a shield to defend himself unable to reach the red stallion he called friend before it blasted the stallion into a pillar and limply to the floor sending rage through the king.

“MAC!!!!!!!” Sombra shouted as his red irises reverted to his purple and white eyes.

The place stood still as the king darted to the side of the stallion without even thinking as Luna unaware of the blast that hit mac earlier sent hers flying just as fast as Celestia’s as Sombra subconsciously stopped the attack in mid-flight holding it just as still as possible as he stroked the unconscious stallions burnt and frayed mane. “I never told you how much you meant to me… I never told you…” Sombra whispered as he dispelled the massive blast dispersing it into the two Alicorns and repairing Twilight’s horn. He talked shakily as he sat next to the poor damaged stallion. “I concede… I concede…” Sombra felt something break something that he never knew he had. He felt the warmth he had felt from earlier with Macintosh only this time it seemed to turn cold and sore. “What is this feeling of pain and hurt… I never felt this before… where is it coming from?”

Mac opened his eyes slightly as he looked up at Sombra as he felt tears touch his muzzle from Sombra’s purple eyes. Hearing Sombra’s words he coughed a bit tasting copper as blood leaked from his mouth. “It’s called a heart… your majesty, my friend…” Mac lost consciousness as everything around him faded into darkness seeing one thing before he saw nothing. He saw Sombra’s winning smile he felt he would miss so much as it got harder to breathe. Saying one last thing he drew what was his last breath. “I love you my king…” Darkness swallowed his thoughts.
