Arceus Gaius Imperium, a loyal Centurion of the Roman Empire, under the control of Emperor Gaius Julius Caesar Augustus Germanicus, known as Caligula, has led his century, alongside his fellow Centurions and their legions, in assaulting a Gaul fort. After heroically sacrificing himself to save a young auxillary, Arceus awakens in a bed, and an Equine is caring for him. Will he be able to find lasting peace, separated from his family and Empire? Or will he be dragged back into the storm of war, when an old enemy of Equestria rears its head?
