From Good to Great

The disaster from what happened, what felt, like last night still shown in Fluttershy’s cottage. Shattered glass and broken china littered the kitchen floors while animal food and a broken bottle of whisky scattered the living room floor. The animals were all curled up ageist Fluttershy as she cried in her bed.

“How could she do such a thing!?” Fluttershy yelled as loud as she could, startling all the critters.

“We were supposed to get married. She was going to move in with me. She already proposed to me. She told me she would never hurt me and we would always be together.” Fluttershy cried even harder then before, making the stream of tears look like rivers rushing out of her eyes.

A few minutes passed when suddenly there was a knock at the door. Fluttershy stopped crying when she heard the knocking. She made her way down the stairs to the door when the mysterious pony knocked harder then before.

“I’m coming, can you give me a bucking second!” She immediately felt guilty as she opened the door to see Twilight, stunned and dumbfounded at what she just heard.

“Is everything ok Fluttershy? Nopony has seen you or heard from you in over three days.” Exclaimed Twilight nervously.

“Oh my has it really been three days I hope I didn’t make you guys worry to much.”

Fluttershy hide behind hear tangled pink mane but Twilight raised her hoof, reviling Fluttershy’s red, puffy eyes and tear strains on her cheeks.

“Fluttershy, what happened?” Twilight asked as she wrapped her front hooves around her yellow, tender friend. Fluttershy tried to hold but the tears, but couldn’t. She cried into the purple chest of Twilights as memories of what happened that fateful night arouse into her mind. Twilight began to light rub the back of her friend in an attempt to calm her down.

“Don’t worry Fluttershy, everything will be ok. I am here if you need to talk about anything.” Fluttershy buried her face further into Twilights chest as the tears coming out of her eyes were like a rushing streams of water.

“Let’s go inside so we can talk about what happened.” Twilight said. Fluttershy nodded in agreement and trotted over to the cottage door. When she opened up the door Twilight couldn’t believe how destroyed the place was.

“Fluttershy, what happen to you?” whispered Twilight.

Fluttershy made her way to the kitchen while Twilight took a sit at the dinner table. Fluttershy pulled a teakettle out of the cabinet and filled it with water. As she made her way over to the stove she asked,

“Do you want anything to drink Twilight?”

“Ill just have whatever you are making if you don’t mind.”

Fluttershy put the kettle on the warmer and made her way to the dinner table. Fluttershy hid behind her mane as tears began to stream out of her blue eyes. Twilight arose from her seat and trotted over to her friend. She began to softly rub the back of her distressed friend in an attempt to calm her down. Nopony said a word, only the sound of hurt felt crying felled the room.

The kettle began to make a high-pitched whistle noise, startling both of the ponies. Fluttershy got up from the table and trotted over the kitchen . She pulled out two cups and a two saucer from the cabinet, she neatly placed one saucer and one cup in front of were she was sitting and place the other in front of Twilight.

“Thanks Fluttershy for the tea”

“It is the least I can do.”

“What brought you to this part of Ponyville, Twilight?”

“Well nopony has seen or heard from you in three days so we got worried.”

“Oh my, has it really been three days? It felt like all of this happed last night.” Fluttershy’s eyes began to mist as the horrific memories began to run trough her head.

“Fluttershy, if I may ask, what happened? Why haven’t you left you cottage?”

“Well, Rainbow Dash and I we-we-we.” Fluttershy began to choke up. She cleared her throat to get the knot out of it.

“Rainbow Dash and I got into a really bad argument. The worst one we have had.” Fluttershy’s eyes began to water up as those words left her muzzle.

Twilight went over to her friend and wrapped both of her front hooves around the crying pony.

“I am so sorry Twilight.”

“Sorry for what? You didn’t do anything wrong”

“You probably had more important things to tend to like reading or studying or do something important for Princess Celestia. Not being here and listen to me wallow in hurt.”

“Shy, you are one of my closest friends and making sure you are happy and doing ok is my number one priority. Even more important then reading or studying or doing something for the Princess.”

Twilight’s soft and heartfelt words made Fluttershy stop crying. Fluttershy raised her head and locked eyes with Twilight’s majestic, purple eyes.

“Thanks Twilight.” Fluttershy said in a happy tone.

“Don’t mention it, besides what are friends for.”

Both of the ponies shared a smile as Twilight broke her embrace. They both finished their tea. Once finished, Twilight picked everything up in a purple aurora of magic, neatly placing everything in the sink.

“Twi, do you really want to know what happened?”

“Only if you are willing to share it with me.” Twilight said in reply.

Fluttershy nodded and rose up from the table and made her way to the living room, Twilight followed. Fluttershy took a sit on the couch. Twilight wrapped her left hoof around Fluttershy; she rested her head on the chest of her friend. Fluttershy could hear her friend’s strong and powerful heartbeat. It was a more powerful then a normal ponies heartbeat, the reason for this is because Twilight was an alicorn.

Twilight could feel the light and shallow breathes for her tender friend. Fluttershy took an inhaled deeply and inhaled ever so softly. She was finally calm enough to talk about what happened.

“Thanks Twilight for being here. It means a lot to me. You truly are a great friend to have.”

“Like I said before, I am here to listen to you and help out anyway I can”

Fluttershy took another deep breath trying to hold back the tears.

“Oh Twilight, where do I even begin to tell you?” Just as Fluttershy said that, Angel jumped up on the cough and snuggled up next to her caretaker. Fluttershy lightly began to pet Angle.

“Well it all began last-err-three night ago.” Fluttershy eyes began to tear up after she spoke those few words. She took another deep breath. She was finally calm enough to talk again.

“Well it all happened three nights....”
